It takes quite some time for your food and drinks to come after ordering but the wait is not too long. Our server was super helpful letting us know what was good and what wasn't. Also they do have a policy where they don't refund or remake drinks if you don't like them! Now as far as the food DELICIOUS!! Every thing was so good and freshly made. The steak just melts in your mouth like butter! I loved the fact that they will pack and bag anything you didn't eat. I had an overall lovely experience. This review is for the Prime Rib Sandwich. Stopped by to pick up the Prime Rib Sandwich. It is supposed to be served on a roll with creamy horseradish and au jus. My prime rib was well done with a huge fat piece in the middle. I did not ask for well done prime rib either. I wasn't able to open the sandwich up because it was glued together with cheese on both sides of the roll. I had to rip up my bread to remove the quarter size piece of fat. There was no creamy horseradish. The au jus was barely warm. This visit was a great disappointment. It never occurred to me to ask about how much the prime rib was cooked. All the restaurants I have eaten prime rib in the past served medium rare to medium. The meat was chewy and not tasty. Definitely a fail. read more

Went here on a Saturday early evening with my hubby, daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter. Very classy place for a nice dinner, date or celebratory event. The decor and layout is beautiful. Jeff, our server was amazing; very attentive, friendly and made some suggestions. We started with frog legs, fried and sautéed crab claws, crab cakes and lobster bisque (the claws, crab cakes and lobster bisque was my meal). I didn't try the frog legs but the crab claws and lobster bisque were delicious. I've had better crab cakes, these were overcooked and did not have lump crab meat. My husband had the tomahawk steak which was cooked to perfection; nice crust on the outside and medium on the inside. Daughter and son-in-law each had ribeyes, sorry I didn't get a pic, but they both said they were delicious and cooked as ordered. We have been to the Madison location before and decided to try the new location and it didn't disappoint. If you're ever in the Madison/Huntsville, AL area this restaurant is a must try. read more

We came here with a friend the other night since I really enjoyed the original location and this one is closer to where we live. We did make reservations on open table. It's very easy to do. I ordered the French onion soup as a starter and then my husband and I split the Cobb salad. I wanted to try a little of everything so I got the taste of Tom's. It was very good! I love the funky decor inside. That was one of the things I loved about the flagstaff location. It's very unique and decorated with funky pop culture art. My friend ordered the shrimp & grits and escargot and they came out looking great too. We were too full for dessert this time, but they have an amazing dessert selection. Once seated things got a lot better. Deidra C. was our fantastic server. She is extremely knowledgeable of the menu and gave some excellent recommendations. Our drinks, appetizers, and food came out in a timely fashion and everything was perfect. Our appetizers were escargot and fired okra, delicious! Our dinners were, redfish, tilefish, beef filet, and elk. All were perfectly prepared and delicious. The following is not a critique of the restaurant, but of some of the patrons. People!! Y'all. Just don't waste your time. We made a reservation (not needed on a Thursday), and the restaurant was basically empty. Never a great sign. Regardless, our server was nice and we went ahead and ordered--I got a mocktail (nearly undrinkable due to the sweetness and was in essence just Sprite) and better half got a beer (fine). We also got some mussels to start. The good: the gratis bread is fine, the mussels were good, and the garlic bread with them was quite nice. We got salads--he got a caesar, I got a house. I'm sorry, but if I'm paying this much for a side salad I expect housemade croutons (even Cracker Barrel does this) and non-bagged cheese. I got neither here, plus Sysco dressing. Total miss. Onto mains. Better half got some sort of TB sampler that was on a kebob, I got a ribeye. The kebobs were fatty but edible. My ribeye was just a MASSIVE fail. I ordered it medium rare--and I can get down with a rare steak--but this was black and blue at BEST. It was barely seared, nearly impossible to chew because it was so underdone, and the cut was overwhelmingly fatty. I cut over 1/3 of it off as waste. Our baked potatoes were also underone (seriously?!). I pointed out the steak to the server, she promised to point it out to the cooks, but we were still charged. Given that they are currently dealing with a freakin' lawsuit about wage theft, I didn't want to make our server go further than that. I've had better steaks at Chili's, but this joint is charging French Laundry Prices. Beware. Overall, an overpriced waste of time. Please go elsewhere. Practical notes: it's in a strip mall, ample parking. Bathrooms were clean. You can make a reservation, but one wasn't needed when we went. Service was great. read more

The consummate 'ALL SHOW AND NO GO' establishment. Here you can order a twenty dollar plus baked potato and it is served without butter, sour cream and / or accoutrements. I ordered a steak and its texture was like the steaks served in the Army Mess hall. Certainly not worth $49.00! On the positive side the gator bites were very good, along with the drinks and the wine. The bartender and server were out of this world and really without par. However if locals think this is the bomb restaurant they are surly living in a bubble. From a food perspective the only overall good thing here are the profits that Tom Brown is making. My wife and I showed up for our New Years Eve reservation. As we enter, we are told that there are 8 people in line in front of us and there was no estimate of when a table would be ready. Only that it would be "a while". What was the point of the reservation? We then find a seat at the end of the bar. Tell the server that we are seated at the bar. No one spoke or came to take our order for 20 minutes. At one point, 4 servers were in front of us cleaning up a broken glass that happened right in front of us. Not a word was spoken to us. People who sat down at the bar after us were served while we were completely ignored. I've eaten all over the world.... And even Vegas isn't this loud!! Awful. Just awful. Looking around the room the average age of diners was around 60 and not a single smile in the room. It appeared as if everyone had given up trying to talk to each other and had decided to sit in silence, eat and leave. $55 for a skewer of raw "tenderloin tips", uncleaned shrimp and a baked potato. NO. I sent the skewers back only to have them returned scorched and inedible. A new set was brought out and placed before me and when I went to grab the skewer to move it to my plate, I burnt the crap out of my fingers. My dad ordered the seabass - $63 for a piece of fish and mushy Brussel sprouts. NO. WTAF?! Food in Napa Valley doesn't cost this much - and it's the FRESHEST you can get. The best part of the meal were the pimento cheese balls - and the bottle of Urban Riesling. I'm being gracious with my 2 star review. The service was great. Thank you Savannah! Food: Food was delicious. For appetizers we had: French Onion Soup - it was absolutely delicious, it had a ton of flavor and the bowl it came in was the perfect size. Crab cakes - those were also very delicious. Our teenager is trying new things and this was a hit for him. I personally love crab cakes so these were great in my mind. Fried Green Tomatoes - they were sliced thin (not as thin as some places which is fine) and full of flavor. The batter stayed on them entire time which is always nice to see. Dinner: I had the JD skewers, my wife had the Filet Mignon, and our son had to fried shrimp. The JD skewers came with some JD shrimp. Steak was cooked to a great medium and the char on it was great. The shrimp were large and not over cooked. The Filet was great. She said it was very solid but Char still had a better filet but that doesn't mean it was bad, she said it was great and she would definitely come back to eat it. My son is a teenager and cleaned his plate - need I say more? Service: Service was solid. Our waiter was kind, quick, and on point tonight. They offered their opinion when asked about the meals and didn't push anything. The service was awesome, and the ambience is cool and relaxed. The ribeye was seasoned well, and cooked correctly (medium rare) to what I ordered. The escargot was *chef's kiss* so good. I am sad to say I would not return and I would not recommend. My spouse and I went last night to celebrate his birthday. The decor is eclectic and funky if you are into that. It's fine. The restaurant was loud and had music videos playing on the tv which seemed odd. The menus were cheap and didn't seem to fit at such an expensive restaurant. People were dressed very casually. The atmosphere was fine but doesn't fit a high end restaurant. The cocktails were fine but basic. Nothing special and was not impressed considering the $14 price point. Appetizers: We ordered the spicy balls and the firecracker shrimp. Both were okay, nothing special. You could get better appetizers at a good sports bar for less money. The breading just fell off of both. We both ordered a ribeye with a side caesar salad and a baked potato. The side salad was $5 extra each and yet it was a tiny salad with salad dressing that tasted like Kraft out of the bottle dressing and Parmesan that comes pre-shredded. The baked potato was under salted, undercooked, and cold. The toppings came already on the potato (personally, I feel I should be able to control the amount of toppings). The steak was about 1/3 fat. My husband's was over cooked. Additionally, the food was not well timed. Initially we felt very rushed. After the appetizers came out though there was a long wait for our entree. The desserts did not look appealing and we were so disappointed by the rest of the food at this point that we didn't order any. Our waiter was very pleasant and did a fine job considering it was his first night serving. I hate giving such a poor review as I always like supporting local businesses. But I would not recommend this place if you are looking for fine dining. I don't mind spending over $200 on a meal if the food is exceptional, but this food was not. All of our food was delicious. It took a really long time to get our entrees though and their was some confusion with our server about the sides with the seafood entrees. It was also very expensive. The Madison location was booked when we tried to reserve on Tuesday, so we booked Huntsville. I was a little weary because I noticed Madison had 700+ more reviews (Google) and they looked to be better recommendations. We left rather disappointed, to say the least. We started with the fried mushrooms, and they were greasy and had no flavor. My husband got the Taste of Tom's, and I got the JD tenderloin tips off the featured menu. His was almost well done, and mine was more on the rare side. My shrimp were tough as could be, but my love potion cocktail was pretty good. We may try the Madison location at some point, but will not be back to this location. read more

Disappointing. Went in 1 Nov. not much of a crowd. Sat at the bar with only one other person there. Ordered drinks and review the menu. Noticed some new stuff from the last time we were there. My wife and I both decided on one of the specials. Kabob with filet, ribeye and bison and we both added a salad. I seem to remember them having a good salad. The salad came out in a bowl slightly bigger than a tea cup and was fairly pitiful. Before we hardly had a chance to eat the dainty salad the main coarse arrived. It looked ok, nothing special, 2 screwers and a baked potato. While I could see the steam rolling off my wife's plate, mine was lukewarm at best, would not even melt the butter in the potato. By the time we received any attention from the server I had half of it gone. He did offer to re-fire my dinner, but I was over it at that point. I do still love there desert, but will probably not go back for an entrée. $165 for a sub par dinner. It a shame, we really use to enjoy TB. read more

I went with a group of girlfriends. I LIVE for cocktails and I was positivity giddy about the extensive cocktail menu. Sadly, for 4 of the 5 of us, our cocktails were UNDRINKABLE. I'm not saying they weren't the best or a tad too this or that for our liking - I'm talking undrinkable. The pear martini was like drinking straight up bottled lemon juice. The Blood Orange tasted like the juice had gone bad. All you could do was laugh they were so bad! Waitress totally brushed us off when we said how bad they were - no solutions offered. Don't forget these are over $20 PER cocktail including tip and tax. The food was just OK. French Onion Soup was fine. 3 of 5 of us found the entrees were too salty. I'm in my brussel sprout era and was really excited about these. My Brussel sprouts tasted as if they were steamed and were slimy and flavorless. It takes special talent to cook sprouts with pork and have them not even taste like bacon/pork belly. Friends that tried them agreed. My bill for just my dinner was over $100. I don't mind spending money on an outstanding meal, but this experience (aside from the fabulous friends) was a letdown. I hate writing bad reviews but I also feel compelled to warn others so they don't waste their time and money. The decor was very eclectic and interesting. I really enjoyed that. We only had to wait 10 minutes before our hostess came to take us to our table. As an appetizer, we ordered the fried mushrooms, very good. Caesar salad was a little light on the dressing. Very difficult to tell if there was any on it. My husband ordered steak, medium rare. It was over done but still very tender. He said the collard greens were the best he's ever had. I ordered fish (might have been chilean sea bass) which was very good but the sauce was extremely salty. I scraped the sauce off and ate the fish. It was a nice size piece and cooked very well. afterwards we had I believe it's called a crumb cake. It was excellent! The service was excellent! It was obvious they were going out of their way to make our experience enjoyable. The reason I'm giving this restaurant four stars is the atmosphere. Tom Brown's, even though a very good restaurant, is very loud, and not a very cozy feel. It's not someplace I would take a date for romantic dinner. My husband and I had a difficult time hearing each other talk. It's beautifully decorated with the industrial feel, art deco style. There is nothing on the walls or the floors to absorb the sound, hence the noise level. I've been to Mexican restaurants that weren't as loud as Tom Brown's. Overall, it was a good experience, but not fantastic. But then again, a lot of it was because of my personal preference of a having a warm and inviting environment. Tonight was my 2nd time sitting at the bar with Tab. Very knowledgeable about food and drinks and he made sure the atmosphere was light and fun. After talking with him I was SHOCKED to learn he was fresh off of training! He really knows how to manage his time with his bar guests and other responsibilities. 15/10 will be visiting the bar with Tab repeatedly. Would also like to mention Kathryn was equally amazing while she was working with Tab on Saturday! We ate here for our anniversary on February 3rd. The staff is excellent, the ambiance is nice but it gets extremely loud on a Saturday evening. I had the escargot appetizer, red snapper with add-on grilled shrimp and the wagyu oil fries. This was NOT a $63 piece of fish. The $9 rainbow trout at Cracker Barrel is far better. Everything we had but the steak was good. Pork belly App, cheese cake, crum cake and Crawfish Julie were all decent examples and worth the price. My steak was a big let down. Ordered a ribeye medium rare. Received something that looked exactly like a NY strip. There was no fat at all and was missing the top, super tender strip. My favorite part of a ribeye. I was assured by my waiter it was a ribeye but i have my doubts. It was cook to medium rare but had a very mealy texture. Little to no flavor aside from the butter that came on top. Was an ok steak at a $15-$20 price point but not worth the ~$50. If we go back i will be staying away from the steak. Overall let down. read more
