And I would take the vehicle (2016 GMC Acadia Denali) every 8K miles. I got the tires rotated on 9/24/24 and the salesman Jackson Boyce informed me that the lug nut GMC used were cheaper/shorter lug nuts with a tall crimp on beauty cap. He said that the caps on these nuts had leaked and swollen with corrosion and needed to be replaced. I am a engineer and it made sense so I had them replace all of them. It cost $125 to change out all cheaper capped lugs for 20 solid lugs. I had the tires rotated on 6/24/25 and the Madeline Miller informed me that one of the batteries in the pressure sensors had failed, and the other batteries were close to failing, So once again I agreed that it was better to change all of the TPMS sensors out when the rotated the tires. On 9/16/25, I changed out the front brakes and noticed two things. The lugs were torqued to 200+ Foot pounds. The max for most lugs is 120. It took a T bar wrench and a 4ft piece of pipe to get the lugs off. I also noticed that the front lugs had anti-seize compound compound inside the lugs. I use anti-seize compound on lugs whenever I change brakes, and I did so the last time I changed the front brakes. You can tell because when you apply anti-seize inside the lugs, any extra deposits as a white ring where the stud stops inside. And that was what I saw. I pulled a lug from the back wheels and sure enough, there was the usually ring of anti-seize compound I put there the last time I changed rear brakes. Problem: If McMahon changed the all the lug nuts a year earlier...why was there anti-seize compound in all the lug nuts. Brad Neal said McMahon didn't use seize compound. Either the new lug nuts scrapped the compound off the studs and made the ring in all of the lugs. The problem is...I checked, this doesn't happen. I tested one lug I cleaned and there was no ring. This would indicate that they never changed my lugs to begin with. Also, from the pictures show that the lugs were incredibly stained and had marks that indicated they had been taken off multiple times. Brad Neal showed me the lugs they use. Behind the counter there were at least 4 big bins with what I roughly calculated contained 500 lug nuts when full. Why do they need this many lugs? How often do they have to changed out lugs for the same reasons they explained for my vehicle? They charged me $6 a lug which they probably cost them less that $1 each. Which means I was looking at least $4000 in potential profit for replacing perfectly good capped nuts...or even just replacing the lugs anyway for no reason. I started looking at the bins and examining the various new lugs. Well, they were solid, but they were also cheap nickle coated lugs - that might actually stain after a year like Brad suggested. I usually walk softly and carry a big stick. I have a background in engineering and material science and chemistry. I have 31 US patents and retired at 45. Brad finally figured some of this out from the comments I made before, and when I examined the lugs they use, he then became very nervous and said I would have to get back from behind the counter because customers are not allowed there - yet he was the one who invited me back to see the lugs he was holding. When we returned to his station he looked at all the past service dates and indicated that it was over a year that the lugs were changed and he couldn't do anything with work done that long ago. I also told him something that I still can't figure out. After they changed out all the lug nuts, I noticed in my garage that 4 lugs on each wheel were shiny on top, and 1 top was dull looking. I didn't think much about it at the time because I trusted them - my mistake. I am wondering now if I should have marked my tires going in to make sure they even rotated my tires correctly in the past. I looked on the internet for situations common to mine and reddit was full of the same situation where sales men made high pressure pitches to customers to change their lugs. Were they in the same boat as I? Point of fact, this type of scam is subject to treble damages in court and is probably practiced by more shops than not.

I scheduled a pickup (which they do for the business I'm employed under) for Monday at 9am- I checked with my concierge at 3pm that day and the porter had failed to pickup my car (day one missed). I called over to them and they'd informed me they had me down for a drop off (which I've literally never done in 10 years), whatever- I told them my car would be in the parking lot for pickup Tuesday at 9am. I get a notification on Tuesday at 12:41pm that the car had been picked up. I receive no verbal update until about 3pm when I'm told the car will be repaired and returned to me by end of business day. I got a second call about 30 minutes later informing me that was incorrect, and NOTHING had been performed on the car- they'd instead be returning it to the lot with NO SERVICE provided, but they need my car for a third day. Fine. My car is waiting in the lot at 7:30 Wednesday am and I CALL THEM specifically to inform the car is there, and I'm anticipating a pickup from them at 9am (to avoid a similar debacle to the previous day)- My concierge team calls me at 10:40 to let me know they just picked the car up. I was contacted today at 2pm for payment, no apologies until I addressed my concerns head on- to which I was met with a "I didn't want to tell you this, but we're super short staffed- I don't want to feed you excuses" blah blah blah. My first unpleasant visit was in regards to me getting my brakes done. I dropped my car off before McMahon's opened (6:00am) to ensure they can get my vehicle in and completed when I got off work the same day at 4pm. I had to continuously keep calling and checking on my car to find out as I'm getting off work that my calipers were supposedly "glued" on and that they broke it trying to get one of the calipers off. This lead to them having to order me a new set of calipers which aren't cheap if I may note & I was told I had to pay for them even though the worker broke them/ caused the damage. I was very unpleased due to no communication was given throughout the work being done on my car. To add to that When they called to tell me that my calipers were broken due to them being "glued" on supposedly they then proceeded to tell me they would have to order me a new set of calipers which was said to be ordered and put on the first delivery truck for them to work on them and get my car back to me first thing tomorrow. I asked them to call me when they began working on my vehicle and again I got no call or update. I reached out to them on my lunch break (11:30) to then be told that they ordered the wrong calipers for my car which lead me to again being without my car for even longer and going into the weekend. Monday came around and still no update from McMahon's in regards to my car which lead me to have to call again on my lunch break due to the lack of communication on their end to pick up the phone and call me after they have had my car for 7 days now. Tuesday came around same thing no communication on their end I called on my lunch break to be told I still wouldn't be able to get my car back. Wednesday which is now the 9th day of them having my vehicle I finally got my car back. My second unpleasant experience came about with me needing my oil changed. I brought my car in first thing when I knew it would be slow (8am) they got my car in and got it done around 9am when getting my paperwork of the breakdown of what they did and what they found and etc they mentioned my wipers were not working which I thought was odd because I had just used them along with being told my brakes were bad when as stated above I just got them done by McMahon's not even a month ago.. I go out to my car to turn my wipers on to see what the issue was to find out that my wipers were perfectly fine along with going back inside to get a manger for her to see for herself that my wipers clearly worked. I called due to I was just still not understanding / in disbelief that someone doesn't know how to know if wiper blades work or how to work them when they're supposed to be the experts. when I called I was talking to a male associate who was said to be a service advisor and he continued to tell me how "every vehicle is different & that the associate might of pushed the wrong button" to then be told that they were entry leveled employees that aren't familiar with every make and model and not to be concerned with the information Put on my form. This is no excuse for having "entry level workers" handling my vehicle if they have no clue how to work windshield wipers or even have the ability to go get someone to validate if something was truly not working if they don't understand or know how to operate something. This just shows that they have a inexperienced team and no one there to take true accountability or that knows how to genuinely fix a issue due to I was told I would get a call back and never received it.

We set up an appointment, IIRC about 3 weeks from the date of the call, with me providing the parts. They completed the repairs the same day of the appointment. Upon picking up the truck, the price was what they quoted. The cost of the service was quite reasonable, compared to 2 other quotes from repair shops. They were recommended by George's Repair Shop who said they they could do the job but thought FWSS would be a better fit for this repair, especially regarding costs (which George's quote I found reasonable). So a thank you to George's for the referral and thank you to FWSS for doing what they said they'd do, just good business. It was nice to deal with Fort Wayne Spring Service. They were very friendly, and did everything they said they'd do, no hassles, no surprises, etc. I will definitely do business with them again if the opportunity arises.

Come to find out, a tire speed sensor line had been cut. When I brought this to their attention, they completely denied any responsibility, despite the fact that none of these issues existed prior to their service. Months later, I took my car to a different, more trusted dealership to have my front brakes done, and they discovered that the original repair shop had also removed my wheel lock key (which had just been replaced and paid for), leaving me without it--and again, no accountability. Bottom line: this place will do the work, cause additional issues, and then wash their hands of it. You'll be left frustrated, out of money, and forced to pay even more elsewhere to fix what they caused. Save yourself the headache--go somewhere reputable that stands by their work.
