Due to the poor results and even worse customer service, I have officially canceled my service with Grassroots Turf Lawn Care. Absolutely horrible service, don't waste your time or money with this company. I am now actively seeking a new lawn care provider that values both results and customer communication. Additionally, I plan to voice my experience on multiple social media platforms such as Google, Yelp, and others, so everyone is aware of the disappointing experience I've had. I expected far better accountability from a company that claims to prioritize client satisfaction.

Will suggested reseeding with a blend of a hybrid bluegrass, creeping fescue and mini clover. I had them remove an overgrown area and regraded it flat and level. They did a comprehensive job of mechanical aeration, graded where needed and applied the seed along with an organic growth promoting solution. He has revisited the job several times since we did it () and has reapplied the growth promoter. The fescue and mini clover are up and growing very well. The bluegrass is showing up now also and looks great. The neighborhood rabbits are eating their fill, and you can't even tell it. The yard has never looked better, and I feel the value received was well worth the cost. Will did a really good job of bidding the job, and of communications along the way. This is not just another guy with a lawn mower - he really knows how to make a lawn thrive.

I agreed to the date and time and he said that he would also take a sample of our soil to send for testing. On Thursday I received a text stating, "Hey! Are you available next week sometime" and "I want to help". I responded noting that I wasn't sure if his message was intended for me given we already had a time and date scheduled for Saturday, and asked if that was accurate? He had mentioned previously that he was being bombarded with people messaging him about his website, so I wasn't sure if his message was intended for me. I didn't receive a response until 8:32am on Saturday (the date we had agreed upon) in which he noted that something came up but gave me other options including coming out later this afternoon. I asked if he could come out before 3pm and he noted that he could. Will also agreed to let me know when he was heading to my home so that I could ensure that I would be there before he arrived. He sent me a message at 2:14pm stating he was "heading my way" with an "ETA of 3pm". He never showed up, never called, nor answered his phone when I called. He wasted our time but thank goodness this occurred sooner rather than later before hiring the company. It's unfortunate really as we prefer to support small businesses however take note when people do not respect your time. Hopefully this review will be helpful to those that are earnestly searching for a reputable landscaper and are attempting to do their due diligence in researching a business to make an informed decision about who to hire.

Whitwell Landscaping recently completed a drainage solution to help our water drain properly from…read morethe driveway down a hill running alongside our house. The rain water was forcing our retaining wall to begin to collapse and ruining the turf/grass down the hill. I put in a request for a quote and got a response within 24 hours to set up a day/time to have someone come look at the project. Joe came out a few days later and walked the area of concern with me. While he was here, I had him quote another area in the backyard that we were thinking about getting some help with. Joe's suggestion was to cut down a tree overlooking our backyard fence and several limbs on surrounding trees to help get the problem area out of the shade. He also suggested a different type of grass that thrived more in the shade to give it the best chance for survival. We ended up using their services for this area as well. They removed several large rocks that were just peaking through the surface and/or clumped in our backyard, adding fertilizer and sod to the areas and handling the shade/trees. A few weeks later, the project was completed. Donald was the lead on the actual project and was extremely helpful/friendly and efficient. Even after we reached out to Joe and team after the project was completed about an area of concern, they immediately took to correcting it and made sure that we were happy! I would recommend this team to anyone into using their services. I read and researched a lot of companies doing similar work and chose this company based on their reviews and they delivered the quality I was expecting and hoping for with a smile on their face! Did two retaining walls, patio with stone on top, cement walkway from front driveway to back patio, stone fire pit area, Alabama Path stone walkway along lakeside hedge. Flagstone fishing pad in one corner and stone stairs into water in the other corner. Ornamental trees, many shrubs and zoysia lawn. Entire yard irrigation with app control. Drainage solutions including downspouts and surface water. Amazing lighting design with app control. Knew we would run into challenges given the slope of the property as complexity of our requirements. All were met with great solutions and fair pricing (both debits and credits). Crew are real artists. On the last day, crew power washed surfaces, re-mulched areas that were disturbed during final adjustments, did walk through with me, and left things perfect. Robin came by afterward to make sure that I was satisfied with the work done and explained that they would come back and make adjustment if I wanted them. You cannot go wrong with Whitwell.

Have had All Turf (Suwanee?? branch) provide weed control, lawn and shrub tree fertilization…read moretreatment (all the chemical treatments for our property) for over 5yrs now. From the start our lawn was a mess (previous homeowner neglected it) and within a couple of months with All Turf the weeds were gone from the grass and the shrubs appear healthier. The office staff are pleasant and professional and William (service manager at the time may be region manager now, works in hq office) is very good. Whenever I have an issue they usually have a technician come out within a couple of days to retreat or do a service and once had a manager come out just to check. The only minor issue I have is they come often and the cost of their service is mid-high. It just seems they come every other week with either tree/shrub care or weed control spray on the grass but the weeds have been abated and I know what the yard looks like without treatment. I think December and January (maybe February) are the only months I don't see them. Over the years I've had many technicians come out and service the property some were better than others. Most technicians run a very cursory spray or minimally spread the pre emergent or fertilizing granulars over the bushes shrubs trees and ground cover missing spots. Some I've noticed only spend 5-10min on my property which is certainly not enough time to treat all the bushes and shrubs ground cover trees // and if it's the lawn treatment they seem to be even faster which I have not been all that happy about and have considered switching because of this alone. Once I spotted a technician pull up sit in their truck and write up the report and hang the receipt on the door without doing anything but that was a couple of years ago and management assured me at the time that that person was no longer with the company. The latest technician, OVALDO EXPOSITO, has been very good hence this review. I've seen him conscientiously spread the granulars and spray the bushes shrubs ground cover, spray the grass so weeds don't pop up. He is actually providing the service I expected and am paying for. this review is to commend OVALDO EXPOSITO for taking the time to do a good job.

Their technician arrived at my home at 3:48pm, left a door hanger at 3:50pm, was still at my home at 3:53pm, and was gone by 3:57pm. Somewhere in that 9 minutes, I am told, he applied "early spring weed control" to my 1/3 acre lot--not a respray, an application--all without setting off either of my side yard cameras or either of my back yard cameras or alerting me, working from home, to his presence. Amazing. Magical. Worth $92, apparently. I called customer service, explained, and asked to cancel my service. A polite gentlemen named Nick assured me that this "senior technician" had literal footage of him treating my yard and that I would receive it via email in 15-20 minutes. Not so much. During that 20 minute interval, I pulled the attached photos from my front-facing cameras and correlated timestamps because NTP time strata sometimes drift. Did I say 20 minutes? I meant an hour. Having received nothing and no contact, I called back and spoke to an even nicer woman named Marie who, pleasant as she was and insistent she would "make it right," finally relented to cancel my service when I insisted for the 750th time that a lack of trust means a lack of business. If you are happy with their service, wonderful. But if my photos give you pause, take my recommendation: caveat emptor!
