The food however, was perfectly mediocre, run of the mill Mexican food like you'd get at Azteca or anywhere else. I am always on the hunt for a good margarita and a few of the reviews said this place has good margaritas. So my husband and I decided to try it. I liked the vibe of the place, it's not a traditional style Mexican restaurant, but a more modern vibe. We went in and sat at the bar, we ordered a house margarita. It was quite weak so we ordered a well shot to add to it and it helped. We ordered dinner, my husband ordered the carnitas and I ordered the arroz con pollo. Mine was good and I would get it again, but my husband's carnitas was dry, he was disappointed. So we get the bill and the two shots weren't on it, so I told our server and she said , "oh ok", so she added them to the bill. They were $10 a piece, so essentially our margaritas were $25 each! It was a lovely place, felt upscale, and our drinks came quickly. I had fajitas, my fellow diners had tacos Birritas and the biggest chili relleno I have ever seen. Everything was fresh, spicy but not burning your sinuses kind of heat, and even the refried beans and rice had a nice little kick and more layered flavor. I also had a mango margarita(made with fresh mango(!). There were many choices of pescado and camarones, and only one, yes one, enchilada plate. Mind you it had four different enchiladas and a person seated next to us had his plate gleaming by the time he finished. Prices were decent and the wait staff was good. Even though this restaurant just reopened. They reopened stronger and better. It is now bigger and way more modern. The employees are very nice and friendly to the customers, and their food is very tasty. We were very pleased with everything from the clean and tidy space to the friendly service and most of all the delicious food! To begin, the chips were crispy and tasty and the salsa was very flavorful with just a bit of heat. We each had a small pork taco that was seasoned nicely. The chili relleno was made with very nice cheese and the pepper was tasty too, with just a touch of heat. The coating was just right in that it was present and contributed in a balanced way without seeming like too much. The Echiladas Maxicanos was 4 enchiladas, each with their own flavors and all 4 were flavors I'd be happy to have again. Very please with the quality and value. We will return soon! read more

Carne asada & shrimp: a little heat with every bite. Not over cooked. Shrimp was nice and chewy without it having a rubber texture. Enchiladas: fire. 9.8 (my boyfriends response vs mine) mole sauce was outstanding. He got 1 mole & 3 in red sauce. I love the variety that they gave while keeping a simple menu. Simple choices & easy to order. The atmosphere was so welcoming and every piece of decor flowed. Music was a great vibe, the temperature was perfect. It's 100 degrees outside and walking in I wasn't freezing or burning. My only wish is that I tried this place sooner! Will DEFINITELY be back. read more

I have eaten here many times. The issue I have is that their food is very inconsistent. One time a dish will be excellent, then the next time you order the same dish it's not good. Even their salsa, which has been my favorite, was different (not as good) the last time we went and had a chipotle flavor that it didn't have before. I really don't like paying for food and rolling the dice on whether or not it's going to taste good. It's unfortunate, because they have potential, they just need to get their cooks on the same page. Ate here for the first time today. We ordered the carne asada and chimichanga plate with carnitas as the meat choice. The chimichanga while it being super small did taste good. The beans and rice served with it were mediocre at best. The carne asada looked like beef jerky it was so dry. Overall portions sizes are on the small side. Was still hungry after finishing my plate. Service was good even with there only being 1 server to cover the entire section we were seated in. Only thing I would order again is the horchata. The food is blah. Nothing to make me wanna eat here again. Total cost $41 for two meals and 1 horchata. Little pricey for what you get. read more

Guys! This place is great. An incredible value. All meals are made to order. I ordered the chicken burrito as a bowl. All of the ingredients were fresh, flavorful, and served piping hot. It also was healthy. I'm a bit of a guacamole snob and they hit their's out of the park! It's delicious. My 5yr old son got the chicken nuggets off the kids meal (which I appreciate having a kid friendly menu) and he said: "This was the best lunch ever!" Nuggets were really good. Give this place a go. Well, we were returning home after a long day and I found Tomatillo on yelp, it was close to home so we thought what the heck. I had the enchiladas Mexicana, and it was amazing! My wife had the fish tacos and she ate every bite because they were spectacular! Oh and the drinks were great too. We can't believe we've missed this place, but this will be added to our regular spots in the Tri. Mexican food in Southern Washington State? This doesn't sound like a good idea but I was pleasantly surprised by what experienced. This place doesn't go out of its way to look all Mexican authenticy, you know wooden furniture and/or decor trying to make you think you're in some villa south of the border. This place looks like it might have been a Subway at some point. Moving on. Right off the bat the staff was really nice. They all spoke when we said hello and made eye contact. Not fully food related but that stuff really makes a difference to me. I ordered a steak and shrimp quesadilla and it was very flavorful. I really enjoyed their selection of salsas as well. TRY THE GREEN ONE!!! All of them brought a little something different flavorwise. Trouble was they didn't get my wife's order right so I had to return to pick up another pollo asada fries but it wasn't terribly far from the hotel so I won't make a big stink of it. read more

This place has changed since the last time I ate here. Changed for the better too! It's more of a sit down restaurant now. Server and host were very nice. My husband and I always judge a Mexican restaurant by their chips and salsa and they were really good. I love when the chips are warm. The salsa wasn't that hot but they have a salsa bar where you can get some spicier salsa. I had the queso dip and the pastor street tacos. Both were really good. Hubs got the tomatillo tacos pork for the meat and they were, okay. Wish I would have taken a few pics to showcase but I guess you'll just have to go to find out for yourself.
