Stopped here after visiting a doctor down the street. We only were going to get something to drink at the drive-thru, but decided to order two soft fish tacos for $4. Great decision as they were freshly made, not fried, and were absolutely delicious. We asked the very friendly person about the business and she said it was the first location, recently opened and soon to be franchised. Hopefully, it will be successful and discovered by others as it is way above any other Mexican fast food place and very reasonably priced. Being new, surely they have to work out the kinks, but give it a try! read more

Eat here. I like the ranch-tomatillo sauce. My husband likes the cayenne pepper sauce. I had one beef and one chicken taco. I didn't want to wait for them to cook a fish taco, because those are made to order. I bet the fish tacos are good too. Reasonable prices. read more

This was good! Had lunch here yesterday and it was cheap ($ wise that is) Mexican food made the very way you like it! Beef & pork tacos were good, lots of toppings to choose from, salty chips, fresh salsa (could've used a bit more though). Nothing fancy here which is often quite satisfying. read more

We stopped by here for a quick dinner Wednesday night. The employees were awesome! Very friendly and helpful (a rarity here in Venice lol). The food was decent, I think Moes and Chipotle are better but it wasn't bad. The wife and I give it 4 stars, the kid says 5. He loved it. The biggest complaint would be the cost of the guac. I'm fine paying extra for guac. That's standard. But $1.50 for a thimble sized scoop should be a criminal offense :). All in all, we'll go back and try other items. We all had pork so I can't mention any other meats but the chicken looked good. read more

I LOVE TOMATILLO'S!! My BF & I happened to stop by oneday on the way home from work when they first opened & have been regulars ever since. I've pretty much tried everything. The burrito's & the churro's are my favorite!! Everything is always fresh, very reasonably priced & doesn't make my belly hurt after. Tomatillo's has the best, fresh mexican food around. All the dishes are affordable, and the location features dine in or dine out options. You custom order your entree, from a nice variety of basics, and then choose from many toppings etc. I wish they had more locations! It's been one of our favorite go to restaurants, and even when they are busy, you can get in and out fairly quick. read more

Stumbled upon this place while taking a break from driving on the highway on a road trip and boy am I glad I did. I got the quesadilla and it was great! My friend asked the server if she could make something vegan and the server was very sweet and accommodating and whipped up a great bowl for her. Great service from the girl working there. We stopped at Tomatillo's because of the convenient location near the interstate as well as to avoid some of the other fast food options near by. We were not disappointed! Stopped in here on the way to Tampa. I got chicken tacos. They were not that great. The chicken was cold. I have to admit I make better tacos myself. Sorry but true. Only open a few days and people have caught on. Small BUT Fast drive though or NICE seating. In and out. You pick and choose what you want on there entire menu. Very tasty! If you like Subway, you'll probably like this place, too. They're almost the same. Subway starts with a big loaf of bread and 50 cents worth of cold cuts, then they load up the sandwich with whatever fluffy toppings you want. Substitute a tortilla for the bread and a small scoop of grilled meat (with no noticeable Mexican spices) for the cold cuts, and you have Tomatillo's. read more

Great little place that we have been frequenting since it opened! Always clean with the staff, manager, and owner very helpful and friendly. We usually go on Taco Tuesday and even have a group that meets here once a month! The food is always fresh and fixed just the way you like. You can even add a beer or wine to your meal! Stopped at this restaurant after getting a very rude welcome at the McDonald's at the corner. Avoid this McDonald's at all cost. Went next door to tomatillos & the people were very friendly & the food was great. All was made fresh. Nothing frozen here. We will definitely make this a stop in the future. read more

This place originally was pretty horrible when it opened, and I was shocked by the positive reviews. They seem to have taken positive steps to improving things, although there is so much potential to improve quality. Chips, for example, are almost always stale and prices are bit high but generally acceptable. Where to begin? Awful! Hard Tacos -beef filling had very little flavor, requested sour cream, didn't get . Stale taco shells. Junkyard Bowl-That was served with cool to room temperature rice and beans. Macha Nacos-Stale chips, liquid cheese was not melted cheese-like a cheese whiz type of cheese only horrible flavor. Tomatillo's is decent option for fulfilling that burrito craving in Venice. The portions are large and quality above average for Venice.
