    tuna melt
    Tommy L.

If you're a fan of really healthy sandwiches and a family-friendly environment, this is the place to come. They have a great variety of items on their menu, but when I saw the tuna melt, I had to try it. The lady who helped me was super friendly, and honestly, she may have made the best tuna melt I've ever had. I'd definitely rank it in my top five favorites. The sourdough was toasted just right, the large portion of tuna was perfectly seasoned, and the cheese, lettuce, avocado, and tomato all blended together so well. It was refreshing and delicious from start to finish. The place is a little tucked away inside a small center, so it's not something you'll spot right off the street. But once you find it, grab a sandwich, maybe a salad too, and be sure to say hi to the friendly ladies who owns the place. Stopping by today was a lot of fun, and I'll definitely be back.

I've been eating at tomato patch for over a decade, beginning about 15 years ago and there are Tarzana location. I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful these ladies are and how delicious the food is. I can honestly say I've never once had a bad meal here. They go away above and beyond. 10-stars if I could!

ALWAYS A FAVORITE, and for 20+ years! The owners, the service, the men options - salads, sandwiches, soups..., and the frozen yogurt!!

All I can say is I've been going to this place for the last 20 some years, and it does not disappoint! I would say hands down the best family owned small restaurant/cafe all around.. the owners the people that work there it doesn't get any better..

What a pleasant and simple little cafe! Tomato Patch features a straight forward, veggie-entric menu. Salads were fresh and yummy. The patio dining area is quiet and peaceful - perfect place to munch on a slald. The lettuce was very fresh tasting, the avocado was perfect, and both the egg and tuna salad we're light and tasty. I am so grateful for simple cafes like this in a time when restaurants are always featuring burgers that are so tall they can't fit in your mouth! I digress. Tomato patch hit the spot and would probably taste even better on a hot day.

These are the kinda little quick bite shops that are the best. I had to try Tomato Patch after looking at the 5 stars 384 reviews. What a great gem, people inside are so friendly, nice, and always smiling. I tried the club sandwich and I gotta tell you it was more like a gourmet club perfectly cut, perfectly toppings set, everything on the sandwich was perfect and fresh. Not one part of the sandwich had a brown or lite brown just fresh amazing. They make fresh cookies I tried one out. Soft in the middle crispy on the outside very good. Overall sandwich good size, coke, chips, and Cooke 17$ can't go wrong. Will be back if I'm in the area.

Lunch that Tomato Patch catered for us with vegan lettuce wraps, BLT sandwiches and chicken breast sandwiches.

The spicy pork was packed with flavor, the soup was hot, spicy and comforting , and the kimchi pancake was crispy and delicious. The service was also a standout. Everyone was so kind and intentional, and you can tell they genuinely care about the experience they provide. The chefs absolutely know what they're doing because every dish felt thoughtfully prepared. We loved it so much that we came back two days in a row, which says a lot because there aren't so many great food options in the area. Some of the best Korean food we've had in the Valley. Parking can be a little hit or miss depending on the time of day, we came early in the day so there were plenty open; but it's 100% worth checking out if you're in the area!

The ramen is very simple - pretty similar to what you can make at home, so don't think this is something I'd consider repurchasing. The bibimbap is acceptable but very simple. The ingredients alone don't have much flavor so it becomes really dependent on how much bibim sauce and sesame oil you decide to add. The tteokbokki is pretty simple too - the tteok was a little overcooked for my liking but some people might prefer it this way. I'd definitely come back for the kimbap alone!

My friend and I came for dinner Wednesday night around 6 pm and it wasn't too crowded. There was a nonstop stream of customers coming in. By the time we left an hour later, most of the tables were full. They offer both Vietnamese food and boba. I was here for dinner but their drink menu looked good as well. Maybe next time! So much of the menu looked good, but as soon as I saw that they offer bo ne (steak + egg sizzling skillet), I was sold. It's one of my favorite Vietnamese dishes, and not many restaurants in this area offer it. I got the B1 bo ne for $20.95, and my friend ordered their V7 grilled chicken with lemongrass over vermicelli for $17.25. The food came out pretty quickly. My bo ne looked amazing as it was sizzling a lot when it was served. The bread was warm and crunchy on the outside / soft on the inside, the egg was cooked over easy with a perfectly runny yolk, and they don't skimp on the meat. I really enjoyed everything about my dish except that I found it a bit sweet. My friend enjoyed his chicken vermicelli dish as well, though he was a bit disappointed the grilled chicken wasn't a whole piece of chicken but smaller pieces. I feel like "stir fried chicken" would be a better description.

Lobster roll sounded perfect so I went. It is family owned and operated. Owners (Husband and wife) were sitting outside. There was one other table of customers when I walked in. A young guy at the counter took the order. I believe he was their son. He took the order and also made it. He was a bit disengaged though. No smile, no conversation, just do the job. I ordered Connecticut style lobster roll and calamari fries. I love warm lobster roll with butter and maybe it was my bad for not reading the ingredients because I always eat Connecticut lobster rolls and I never had mayo in it. I will post a picture of the amount of mayo so you can see what I'm talking about, but this did not do any justice at all. Warm overloaded mayo just killed the authenticity of the juicy lobster and made it soggy and just meh. Calamari fries were overcooked and dry but ok I ate it because I was hungry and didn't have time to order more food. The 30 min that I was there, no other customer walked in , which was sad ... like I said, I really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately I will not be back :(

After all, they're known for their daily, freshly-baked breads like the Seeded Grain, Country Sourdough (it's naturally-leavened), Jerusalem Bagel loaf, crusty Baguettes, and a Brioche Challah that's specially baked on Fridays. You can find a variety of deli favorites, avocado toast, salads, and shakshuka on their menu. At its core, Lodge is a fusion of classic bakery goods meets Middle Eastern heritage. Everything is baked in their intimate kitchen and the staff is super nice & helpful. Of course, it's me so I deliberated between the shakshuka or a bread-y deliciousness long enough to have my friend just choose for me. She chose wisely! The Veggie Sammie was chock full of yum, wholesome goodness, and nature's vitamins to soothe my achy-broken arm. With gratitude, I indulged in their freshly-baked seeded-grain piled high with avocado, sprouts cucumbers, tomato, lettuce & shmeared with a zesty pepper aioli + a pickle on the side. It hit the spot, despite me not being hungry. Our order was #86 and it was a gentle reminder that thankfully, I only broke my arm, and not my neck. So I can return next time to enjoy their shakshuka--or avocado toast.
