SO much going for this place but it all fell flat. the wait is HORRENDOUS to get seated. the food is mush on a plate. even the pizzas look soggy and lifeless. i had something that seemed to aspire to Chicken cordon bleu but they used ham, not prosciutto and the pasta accompanying it was not good at all. flavors were all off. the playdough for the kids is a nice touch but if you want good italian food, go elsewhere. read more

We ate there Monday night with our grandson. I have an egg allergy which I explained to the waitress more than once who made note and even talked to the chef. However, when my dish arrived I had only taken two bites when I realized I was having a reaction. About that time the waitress returned to our table because they had sent a sauce which contained eggs and she later learned the chef had also put the sauce on the sandwich. If you have a food allergy be very careful if you decide to eat here. You probably need for the waitress to ask the chef before bringing the food if it contains the allergen in any of the ingredients. read more

I'm from Tacoma, WA and every time I come to Spokane, like 2-3 times a year, we come here at least once. We love it!! I like the smashed chicken sandwich or the strawberry poppy salad if I'm feeling something more light. I've tried what my friends ordered too and it's always delicious. So our visit is on May 28th 2023. Between 5:30 - 7pm both myself and another ordered the twice spaghetti- mine with meat sauce and hers just marinara- both came out amazing and yummy, I'd just like a bit more sauce-- to enjoy the balance of everything- it was just out of balance- which made the cheese a bit on the heavy side. Maybe ask for extra sauce when ordering?! Just a suggestion. Then another family member ordered the blackened chicken sandwich- he said he enjoyed it!! It has marinara, cheese, and a pesto on it and it 'seemed' like the bread was homemade too! Which was an added bonus on the sandwich that already a home run! We also got the appetizer sampler, raviolis, mozzarella sticks, and stuffed mushrooms. All were amazing!! Especially with one of the dips being honey mustard! Interestingly enough it was fitting for either of ravioli or mozzarella sticks. ( which our 2 yrs old enjoy . Lol) The 2 yrs old had the Mac and chz plate. Which he enjoyed -- we tried it and it wasn't seasoned enough for the normal adult plate was PERFECT for a baby! The bread was great! But the side salads were on a plate that was too small and lettuce kept falling everywhere and dressing wasn't but a teaspoon! ‍ idk what procedure is there but I think at least a tablespoon would of better with a bigger plate. I get that with a four top you are pushing it with the amount of room but you can't really go smaller with the portion of salad ( size portion was perfect) so prob need to go bowl or bigger plate. Well overall it was an amazing experience, as usual. I am from over 30 yrs in the restaurant/ banquet service industry and I'd say that the front of the house is looking good-- with the exception of tweaking here and there. Our server was Chuck and he was pleasant and professional-- he had a full section but handled it well! Seemed like he prob had a few yrs under his belt for serving - and the order was taken and completed perfectly. No issues at all! The manager I believe helped run food and he was calm, professional and friendly ( even to our two yr old) and I was glad to see even with a restaurant pretty full. The restaurant was clean, and all people around us were in good spirits. We encountered only a peaceful and enjoyable experience here. The prices are great too. Both my portion and daughter took to go boxes-- the sandwich was a good fit for her husband and the appetizer and salad with bread was all great portions. They are definitely generous in the portion VS price. Oh about waiting time-- sorry almost forgot-- we arrived and we're told 20 mins. It turned out to be about 15 - quicker is always better when you're hungry! - we stayed in our vehicle for purposes of the baby not getting carried away in the lobby. They gave us the electric notification device and so when it went off, we were separated for a sec or two so when I got to the hostess stand the rest of the family were at the table already. Yes, my family could of said we have more coming- but thought normally the hostess would ask " is this everybody ?" Anyways, that's all with that. This place was very busy even during the weekdays. It is very kid friendly, and they have a large chalkboard in the waiting area that kids can draw on. The restaurant is huge. When you're seated, they give kids crayons and the whole table has paper so they can draw freely. They also give kids colored dough to play with while they're waiting. I met a friend here as I was visiting from out of town and the food was really good. I got, some dough balls filled with cheese that we dipped in marinara and they were really good. My wife got the clams which she enjoyed. I got the chicken parmigiana. It is a little bit expensive but most places are these days. I would recommend coming here with the family. It was pretty loud though. Given all the people and families around. If you're looking for a place to have a quiet dinner this would not be it. read more

First time going there and had an awesome experience! Fresh garlic bread as soon as you sit down (and they kept coming). Blackened chicken fettuccine was delicious, very generous portion. Pizza was also yummy, it was too much for 1 person. Finished off our dinner with crème brûlée and tiramisu, both were heavenly. You won't regret eating here and trying anything on the menu, but I gotta tell you, come with an empty stomach because you will leave feeling super stuffed. I love their Twice Baked Spaghetti, and knowing they were close to our "lair for the night", I got the Tomato Street urge. As good as I remember! This place is great. My daughter, wife and I had dinner in the bar here last night. Big line wait to be seated for the main restaurant, so know that in advance. The three of us split a raspberry salad, Rosas red pasta dish and some cheese sticks. The beer was cold and great selection. I loved that the good was HOT: right from the kitchen to us. And the salad was cold and fresh. Service was great. Nice environment. The waitress rocked. Go here if you need some affordable, mid range Italian that is not super fancy or over priced. I went to Tomato Street yesterday for the first time with my friend and we had the best service either of us have ever had in our lives (thank you so much Jessie)! If you want amazing food with great service, go to Tomato Street and ask for Jessie as your service. We asked for a flight of all the pasta sauces so we could decide on what we wanted and it actually made it harder to decide because they're all AMAZING. The huckleberry lemonade is excellent as well and the huckleberries are from a local Idaho man who grows and picks them himself. My friend got the spaghetti with marinara and meat sauce and I got the blackened chicken Alfredo and both dishes were completely out of this world. 12/10 service, food, and environment. I did take out, 3 dinner entrees & 1 lunch entree. So my bill was $90. The lunch entree & 1 dinner entree were the same; blackened chicken fettuccine with bacon & spinach. This restaurant is definitely a family friendly AND a family favorite. I usually get this same thing which is Grandma's Lasagna but every so often I will order something else like fettuccine Alfredo. They have the best Huckleberry Lemonade. I've been tempted to ask the server if they could put a shot of vodka or rum in it. A Spokane LEGEND. THE Tomato Street. I grew up in Spokane, and only after I moved away did I realize how much better Tomato Street is than any other Italian restaurant of its kind. First of all, the coloring on the tables is so fun. The place may be super campy and decorated like a kid wanted to save some money and make noodle decor, but hey, it is so good I don't even care. You start with the bread. Hot fresh, huge baskets of buttery garlic bread that you eat so much of you lose your appetite. I was sad to find out the tomato soup is made with chicken stock (WARNING VEGETARIANS). But, I've heard it is the best thing to dip your bread in. Then, you order your large portion of cheesy pasta goodness. My go-to's are the baked pasta (Cheese covered spaghetti with their homemade sauce). Or the Lazoni (Basically a calzone with lasagna in it). You will leave here with leftovers and you will sleep very well. Finally, you cannot leave without a scoop of spumoni. Always recommend. I come here every single time I am home. And, I dream about lazoni & garlic bread because nowhere else does it like Tomato Street. read more

Called a couple hours ahead for our party of 7 and was told they only take reservations for parties of 8. We decided to go anyway and ended up waiting an hour. Once we were seated the staff was friendly and efficient. The food for everyone was very good but it is one of the more spendy places to go in the area. Given the long wait and pricing they've lost a couple stars in my book. My family and I just went for the first time and it was a very good experience. The employees were very nice and we were greeted as we walked in. I can't remember our waitress name (Aisha????‍) She was very friendly and helped answer our questions about the menu. The food was absolutely delicious! We had mozzarella sticks and stuffed mushrooms for appetizers. For the main meal we ordered, The Mac Daddy, kids spaghetti, Garlic Formiggia pizza and my husband did a create your own pizza. The 10" pizza I think is good for one person and the 12" size is good for sharing with two people. When we come back to Spokane, it is definitely a place we'd come back to. read more

Just a usual day out with the fam bam. Came here for another dinner on a Thursday night. They were not too busy as it was around 2030 when we came in. We got seated on a booth tucked away at the back corner. I clearly remember there were four other tables she was serving on our area. Couple tables were getting ready to leave as we were served with our food. She was pleasant enough and checked up on us, but it took a little while before she was able replenish our drinks nor bread during our course of dinner. My food choice was Uncle Tony's Pasta. Two of us ordered the same kind. No doubt, it was flavorful with a good spicy kick from the cajun but it was dry. I could barely mix my pasta since there was ample amount of sauce unlike the other person's order. I couldn't enjoy my meal like the rest. I had to request for an extra sauce before we left which they gave without extra charge. I hope they'll make the necessary changes and maintain the consistency of their food. When the server brought our tickets she seemed very irritated that I was looking at the check to make sure everything was ok. The smells are so good in the waiting area they could be bottled and sold. Honestly the place smells heavenly. We waited 30 minutes for a table. Once arriving at the table, the server was on it and all of us. I ordered a bowl of Minestrone Soup and Chicken Marsala. The Minestrone Soup was tomato based broth loaded with beans and Lima beans. It had a super strong flavor of smoke. Someone added liquid smoke--it was not very good. My Chicken Marsala is the same deep fried chicken used for their Parmigiana. I've never had Marsala like that! The chicken was dry and the sauce old and off on seasoning. Maybe microwaved! My food was not very good. The folks I was with enjoyed the simple pasta and salad dishes. I think that's your best bet. I had a One-Star experience! The folks I was with had a Three-Star experience. I will go Three-Stars for them. If you go, stick to Pasta and Pizza. Great food. We go anytime we visit family in the area.

So, Tomato Street. I've always associated it as a sort of Chuck E. Cheese for Italian food, and while I had eaten their lasagna at a catered event before, I'd never been there. Until last night, when I went with my family, including six grandkids. Six! At a sit-down restaurant! Are we insane? Well yes, but that's beside the point. We went on a Saturday afternoon, a day on which (oddly enough) they do not take reservations. Even for 10 people. But we went anyway, and because it was four PM we were at our table by 4:15. Chaos ensued. But the restaurant provided crayons for the kids (and grampa) to draw with on the white paper "tablecloth", they gave each child a lump of Playdoh (which was a big hit), and dropped off a pile of cut-to-length yarn and dry penne noodles to string, all of which (mostly) kept the young ones entertained until our meals arrived. Dinner was good. That's the best I can use to describe it - not "OMG this is glorious!", but not "I'm never coming back" either. The lasagna was very good, the chicken and eggplant parms were both tasty, and our starters (baked raviolis and calimari) were both very good. A tip - ALWAYS ORDER THE ZESTY SAUCE! It's that good. And their house chianti, which you can buy by the glass, was delicious. They had an abundant selection of items for the children as well, everything from chicken fingers (I didn't even know chickens had fingers) to baked mostaccioli, and they all cost only $6.50 with a drink and ice cream. Talk about a happy meal! The atmosphere was somewhat akin to a Ferrell's Ice Cream Parlour, if you're old enough to remember those. A bit festive, a bit silly, and very family-friendly. T-Street isn't a place for a romantic tryst, certainly, but it's a good place to take the tribe. Decor was sort of a kitschy take on Tuscany, but with whimsy. And hats. Lots of hats. Every server had a hat of their own choosing, so no two were the same. Think "Office Space" and flair. We came with one of our party in a wheelchair, and there was plenty of space to move around. That's a big plus for us. Both the staff and the patrons were very friendly and helpful about that. Finally, when the manager somehow learned that our daughter had three biological children and three fosters, she came over and brought bracelets for the kids. She then told my daughter about the programs the restaurant offers in support of foster families, including a day in May when foster families eat free! I like a place that puts their money where their heart is. And she comped our appetizers for us at the end of the meal! Overall, it was a great experience, and a good place to take the whole family. I believe, however, that the next time I do this I'll bring extra adults - to help with the kids! read more

One of my most favorite restaurants in town. The create your own pasta dishes are best baked! The chicken parmigiana is always so good & has a little bit of crispness to it. Such a large portion too with the addition of fettuccine Alfredo as part of the meal. It's enough to also eat for lunch or dinner the next day. My son loves their kids meals and the portion size is really good and the price for the kids meals are reasonable. The fresh baked bread is delicious. I kind of wish that you still got the choice of soup or salad with your meal but I understand the reasoning behind it and really $1.50 for a side salad really isn't too badly priced either. read more
