I want to start by saying I love their food, and so does my hubby. We've been going there for quite some time, and this is my 2nd review. Their in person service is spot on. Times have changed though and with warm weather here sometimes you get so busy working in your yard, or sitting enjoying the evening sun before you know it, it's almost 6:30 and you're starving! I thought what the heck I'll have it delivered. I ordered zucchini noodles w/shrimp and salad and my hubby had spaghetti with sausage and meatballs and salad. We've ordered delivery twice now and having eaten in the restaurant, I'm going to admit I've got expectations that they have set for me because of the great food and attention to detail. Both times I've ordered delivery, they've forgotten dessert, butter for the rolls, napkins, silverware, etc. This probably sounds petty but the first time I was craving the homemade cheese cake with the berry compost, I could literally taste it, but nope forgot it. Tonight it was the chocolate gluten free torte I was craving, but no once again they forgot it. All I'm saying is because of the standards you've set, the wonderful food you serve, and the attention to detail you give in person, can I still have that delivered to me at home? Yes I called and was credited what I didn't receive, and I'm sure we'll eat there again but it might be awhile. Times have changed for us in other ways too. I have Parkinson's, and have had it for quite sometime. When I'm having a difficult day, just trying to pull it together and look presentable to go out and eat in public can take hours. If I can order delivery and have it in the comfort of my own home, its less stressful, more enjoyable, but also disappointing when you look forward to little things like home made dessert and it doesn't arrive. I always say if I'm having a bad day, theres someone else having a worse day. I should be thankful I had dinner, and I am grateful because theres probably people out there who didn't get dinner at all. If you didn't make such mouth watering desserts I wouldn't be craving them and disappointed for not getting it! Lol Maybe next time ill just order desserts only for dinner?! lol read more

Service was excellent, server was more than obliging. Maybe cause the food was so bad! We were offered the special of the day, CHICKEN ALFREDO LASGNA. Having worked in the business for decades, special of the day always sends up a red flag. I didn't order that my travel partner did. I wanted to try SPIRALIZED ZUCHINNI for health reasons, on the make your own dish portion. I chose meat sauce. 1. Lasgna was microwaved, for far too long, noodles were hard, chewey and alfredo was clumpy. Plating was very unappealing. 2. I don't think the zuchinni was cooked at all. I KNOW IT CANBE OVERCOOKED AND MUSHY. It was not even warm and sooo crunchy. Meat sauce??? By definition it should have meat, not visible. Watery, OMG it was floating. The only thing the sauce was good for was dipping, store bought rolls, in it. I expect oregano and garlic to be some of the flavors present. This was appalling. Had it not been for such a gracious server I wouild have insisted on being comped. BTW, we were first customers for dinner. We tried but could only force down half of it. Over priced, under spiced and downright nasty. I don't know how anyone could write a good review, unless they are family.. Go to DQ, down the street, you know what you're getting. I have been going to Mamma Mia's off and on for years. Yesterday on May 13, 2025 was a disappointment. Server was nice but talking to her friends were more important which our drinks, an appetizer and main dish were delayed in reaching to us and the place was not busy. Ordered Caprese Salad and it was not made like it was in the past like sliced tomatoes, sliced mozzarella cheese etc. Instead it came out as a tossed salad with diced tomatoes and crumbled cheeses. First time here with a local friend who was attracted to this place because they offer spiraled zucchini as the pasta option. There is no other restaurant that I have ever been to in CA that offers this. Way to go! We were promptly seated on a lates Sunday night and waited a bit to have our order taken. Warm bread rolls came with lovely whipped butter. The roll is almost a burger bun shape. For dinner, I ordered the seafood ravioli with Alfredo sauce and a side meatball. I always try the meatball to compare to hubby's. Hubby is the winner still. Just not quite as tender as I'm used to. The sauce is thick, garlicky and seasoned well and the ravioli pasta is unfortunately thicker than I prefer. The filling was fine. The menu said the filling included cream cheese which I hope was a mistake because real Italian ls use ricotta cheese right? Our friend's zucchini noodles were a hit. She said it was very good. It was nicely cooked and the color of the zucchini was cool. Rigatoni with a bit of spice in the marinara along with the homemade Italian sausage was okay. It's a big portion that hubby brought back to eat later. I'd come again because it's nice to have homemade Italian food once in awhile and the zoodles option is fantastic!! Kristi, the owner, was wonderful to work with -- offering creative options to fit our budget while ensuring every detail was perfect. Would not recommend whatsoever. Place was busy, sure, but other tables were receiving food while our disinterested waitress clearly let our dishes sit too long. Took half an hour to even get orders taken/receive water. When food finally arrived (from a separate waiter), arancini had cooled into congealed slop, pasta sauce had settled to bottom of dish, and the tiramisu had been soaked into mush. Mary and I stopped in here for dinner tonight( we were greeted and seated and menus, water, and bread rolls came right out. Thirty minutes later no one had come by to take our order, so we left. There were more empty tables than full ones, if they were short staffed, a simple acknowledgment of such and letting us know they would get to us as soon a possible would have sufficed. read more

Came for their restaurant week menu tonight. Fried seafood ravioli was delicious, a little too much breading but good flavor. 8/10. I got the spaghetti carbonara, the pancetta was good, pasta very sticky with egg, not a bunch of sauce. I have had creamier carbonara's, but it was good 6.5/10. My boyfriend got the crab lasagna, it was very cheesy and a large portion. Of course it wasn't stuffed with crab, but for $22 restaurant week it was definitely worth it!! 8/10. The place was popping, very busy. All the servers were bustin their bums. Dessert was amazzingggg 10/10. Tiramisu was the best, but the crème brûlée was delicious as well. Drove past this place every day for a few years and FINALLY gave it a whirl. Cozy, comfortable and family friendly, you can dine in or take out prepared meals. We kept it simple with lasagna and spaghetti and meat sauce. The food was good and the service attentive. Most everyone makes Italian food at home, so tastes and preferences differ widely. I rarely write a poor review, but after dining at Mama Mia's last night for dinner I must share my experience. My wife and I read reviews beforehand and were excited to try this place after exceptional comments from previous customers. Those customers either had a better than night than we did or they have not had quality Italian food. The pizza that we ordered was on a premade cardboard crust with a thin amount of bland tomato paste and minimal cheese. The seafood fettuccine was dismal at best and lacked freshness and the linguine was crunchy. The only thing that was enjoyable was the house salad and the Creamy Italian dressing. Recommendation from a couple that has a passion for Italian food. If you're gonna serve Italian food, revisit why you decided to start this business, and ask your self if the quality of your food was the reason. For my wife and I it wasn't. read more

This was my first and last visit to Mamma Mia's, which makes me very sad, because it seems that they are one of very few places in Spokane that have pesto pasta. Pesto pasta is supposed to be oily. What I received was a dry pile of noodles with a minimal amount of pesto, which they charge $4 extra for. When I tried to eat it, it all stuck together. I had to drink water while chewing so that I could swallow it. When I say it was dry I mean it! I had two bites and put the rest in a to go box. Adding a healthy dose of olive oil at home still didn't salvage it. Waste of $18! The portions were also abysmal. My husband got ravioli and received six Chef Boyardee sized raviolis for $20. When I arrived to pick up my order, the outside sign said they had dine-in service. Since this is my daughter's big 30th birthday we were celebrating, I was sad that we couldn't enjoy the experience in house. Aside from that, the food was wonderful. Total lack of communication between waitress/greeter and other staff, lack of quality when it comes to the food, steeper than expected prices. My first time. I went in to get some food to go for a friend of mine who was craving it after not having it for a long time. Saw the sign outside that said $10 pasta bowls to go; and I asked the lady that took my order what that meant, and she said "spaghetti and meatballs; noodles and Alfredo; basically anything". So I ordered spaghetti and meatballs expecting it to be $10, but it came out to $14 since meatballs are $2 extra-which I was not informed to until after the fact. Got home and found that the noodles were undercooked, and the sauce had no flavor. Also, the baked rigatoni with sausage bowl was $18, rather than $10 (which is what the waitress quoted) and the "sausage" was nonexistent. So $8 for a missing ingredient. From now on before I go somewhere I will take a minute to look at my receipt before handing my debit card over. I was surprised at the high total after my card had already been ran. After which I mentioned it to the waitress, then another waitress informed me that meat (for two disappointing meat balls and non existent sausage) was extra. Nothing was done to fix the misunderstanding or the lack of information to me being charged $12 more than I was being expected. I should of walked out without handing my card over after looking at the receipt and saved me the $50 I paid for a total disappointment. First time. Last time. I won't be back. read more

Ordered online to go through the Yelp app which submitted the order through GrubHub which was pretty convenient. When I arrived to pick up my order it looked pretty dark outside so I was kind of nervous, I went in & not a soul was around. After jingling my keys , saying "helllooo" & standing there for a minute I spotted a phone on a table so I called the restaurant & was helped when someone came out to answer it. I ordered a meatball sub. If you enjoy a plain old, meat, cheese, sauce, bread type of meatball sandwich like me I think you'll like this. There is a little spice to the meatballs-or sauce , not a ton though. I do wish there was a little bit more cheese. My son got spaghetti noodles with Alfredo sauce. Usually the kids menu comes with a drink & ice cream, but I don't know if it's because of Covid that it doesn't now? We did get a roll though, I let my son have it lol read more

What an experience. Went here for Mother's Day dinner. Was promptly seated and order placed. After about an hour, we began wondering where our meal was. When we asked, we were told that it would be right out. The server asked if we would like another drink while waiting, she informed us that they only had one dishwasher working and that she would "refill" the wine glass. Which was odd because she did not "refill" the pint glass. When the meal finally arrived 10-15 minutes later, we were informed that one of the meals was not what was ordered as another server had served it to the table next to us in error. She assumed that what the other guest ordered would be okay to serve us. She seemed slightly taken aback that we insisted on getting what we ordered! After informing her that we would prefer the order we requested, she took the plate and went back to the kitchen, leaving the second meal for one of us to consume alone. After about 10 more minutes, the correct meal was delivered. We promptly asked that both meals be boxed up as we were extremely disappointed in what had transpired throughout our visit. I ordered a to go pasta bowl. They told me 10 min or less- it was 30. I then proceeded home which is a Slightly over an hour. When I got To the north side of Spokane I pulled over to eat my meal. Even after a Generous tip- no silverware, no napkin, and no condiments! I had cold pasta when I got home. You don't get a second chance to make a good impression. First time eating here, made a reservation which was super easy and our table was already set when we got there. Ordered an appetizer and two meals. The calamari was pretty good, though we needed more sauce. I ordered the calzone and it was huge! The unfortunate thing was is that it was under cooked and not hot inside. It did make me feel ill and wonder how fresh the ingredients were. My husband had ravioli with pesto and he said it was good and he enjoyed that he could create his own combo. Also the bread they give you isn't great, would have loved maybe sliced bread and offered olive oil and balsamic. Overall I will not order the calzone again and it will take some time to go back since the food made me sick. On a snowy winters night we were happy to find this delicious Italian restaurant that could seat are a party of six. They quickly took care of our drink and food order.
