Warm, spacious, delicious! This was our 4th visit to Embers and we weren't disappointed. We capitalized on the dinner deal: $30 medium pizza, garlic knots and a large salad for two. I had a whiskey mule and the total bill was $41. Staff was prompt, friendly and made us feel appreciated. There were blankets in all the patio chairs, with standing gas heaters as well as electric heaters placed 20 feet apart. It was warm enough on the enclosed patio that I didn't need any jacket. Love this place. Gets very busy, so prepare for a wait especially in the summer. But you can sit outside with a glass of wine or a beer, and what's not to like? We love going to Embers by the Lake! It's a family favorite for a weekend respite. The pizzas are great, with a bit of a charred crust from the wood fired cooking. Great drinks, service and food. The wait is long, but the kids love hiking around the area, and we often play Corn Hole while waiting or just sit by the outdoor fire. They also have a good view of Lake Hauser. We love driving our side by side over the hill to this great location along the lake. We'll be back over and over. read more

We walked from our Airbnb to Embers and we really enjoyed it. The vibe was unbeatable - outside seating with a big grass are where kids were running around. They had a great selection of wine/beer/drinks as well. The summer salad needed more dressing and then large was way too big for 2 people. I'd say for maybe 3-4 it's better. The pizzas were both cooked perfect and had great flavor. We got a gluten free crust for the truffle pizza and it was great for my gluten free friend - good flavor not just like cardboard. read more

Back after 2 years...while the first visit was phenomenal this time even better. Got there at opening 4pm to beat the crowd. The setting is a quaint old house converted into a great venue complete with outside seating across from a serene lake. Inside are two wood fired pizza ovens, one for regular pizzas and another for gluten free. A nice bar surrounds the ovens with an assortment of beers on tap or opt for wine or some mixed drinks. We opted to sit inside and our server greeted us with a smile and great attitude. We ordered a blood orange Hefeweizen and examined the menu. My last visit I had the Pend Oreille Pie, a thick crust pie extraordinaire. (I ordered one to go) This time we split the Papa's Special- marinara-sausage-pepperoni-salami & smoked bacon on a thin wood fired crust that had great char, crisp & chew. This place is an experience for the whole family!! The drive in to the location is beautiful and you feel like you are at a members only, hidden gem type soot. The whole place is like a parents playground. The kids can play, while you warm up next to the gas fires with an IPA or whatever. Pizza is delicious, lots of special options and the kids can make their own breadsticks for free. Great service, very attentive and helpful. We visited my girlfriend's aunt in Coeur d'Alene -- and her son invited us for dinner, giving us the restaurant name and address. After driving farther and farther away from civilization, we began to worry that our vehicle's nav system was going to take us deep into the back country where we might never be heard from again. When we rounded a corner, there appeared to be 100 or more people there. We despaired that we'd never be served. Fortunately, our host made reservations. Unfortunately, he didn't give them his cellphone number. Ooops. No worries. We got our menus, and a list of the adult beverages they have on tap. I selected one of two IPAs. Good choice. The staff was fun to work with, taking their time to explain the different types of pizza and how they could be characterized (yanno, meat lover's; Hawaiian veggie, etc. The characterizations weren't fair because the pizza was superlative -- and judging by how little was left of each, we'd chosen wisely. There were two lists of pizzas and a number of salads. We ordered two salads, and five pizzas -- for five of us. I'm sorry to say that one of the lies I tell myself is "I'll remember that." The pizzas we had were outrageous... thin crusts, perfect sauce, an excellent set of toppings from meat, veggies, cheese, spices. Oh, one was sorta like a Hawaiian pizza. Not a bad slice in the bunch. I had 2 or 3 slices, and wish that my stomach was as big as my eyes. I learned in college that pizza was a unique food group, served hot one day, eaten cold for the next two for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Our leftovers didn't last that long. We're returning in August and September. Maybe they'll do takeout for us in Arizona. read more

By far, the best pizza in the Inland Northwest. We started with the Greek salad, which was delicious. A perfect balance of vegetables, cheese and dressing. For dinner, we ordered the Yo Adrian deep-dish pizza. The crust here is outta this world. Somehow they balanced a buttery flaky-ness with just the right amount of chewy. Not too thick and not too thin. Jusy enough crust to stand up to the immense of amount of filling. Packed full of sausage, meatballs and cheese. A hint of fresh basil with red peppers scatted throughout. The spicyness was on point. All of that and cooked in a legit wood fired oven. I fear the decline may be setting in. Pizza has always been excellent, as is the staff when you deal with them face-to-face. Problem happened tonight though and will impact future decisions on where we get our pizza. We are local. Very local, and this is (was) our go-to pizza stop. Sometimes take-out, but most often enjoy eating at the restaurant - again, great staff, fun place, and good food. When we eat there it is with wine and beer and appetizers and several pizzas so we can take some home, and a generous tip. Rarely by ourselves as we usually go with groups of neighbors or family when they are in town. When we do take-out it is to accommodate our live-in parent who cannot navigate the rustic steps and gravel parking lot at this restaurant. Did it once a few years back successfully but can no longer manage. So tonight tried to call in for a few pizzas. No answer. Tried again. No answer. One similar experience in past was explained as "when we are very busy we just do not answer the phone." So we have sometimes driven there, placed order, and waited, or went home and then back for pickup. But thought that they might have figured things out and apparently have not. So tonight was a different place for our pizza. And pretty good too. Come on Embers, we know you can do better. read more

We toyed with the idea of stopping by Taco Bell on the way home. The ideas they have on the food are fantastic. Just poorly executed. It looked absolutely beautiful. Just lacking flavor and dry. The service is was also Fantastic. Incredibly nice staff. The restaurant itself didn't have air conditioning, and with the pizza oven going full force, being mid summer we chose to sit outside. But the inside was super cool. Really neat vibe. Just hot. Outside was nice, with a Great view! Corn hole to keep you busy while you wait to be called to your table was a nice touch especially waiting with to be seating trying to entertain 5 kids. I've had few not great pizzas. Dough is so thin and they tend to burn the crust. No good especially for the price. Also, I live in Hauser and the dough not delivery which is a negative and seem to never be open always closed at strange time like a holiday no lunch service that kind of thing. My husband and I have come here 3 times and every time has been AMAZING. The pizzas are delicious and the wings are good portions and have so much flavor! Finally got to try Embers and their pizza is the best we've found in North Idaho. Staff is super friendly, views are beautiful, great service and excellent food. I love their flavor combinations. We had the standard meat pizza so we could compare to others and it was better than we've had anywhere else. Our friends had the Going Back to Cali pizza and wow! So fresh and flavorful. read more

Start to finish everything was so great! Very friendly staff, great recommendations from our server, and food was SO GOOD! We ordered the cheesy corn dip for an app, the Mediterranean pizza...AMAZING, and strawberry gelato for dessert to share. I would order all of it again! My family surprised me by bringing me here to Embers By The Lake as our restaurant choice of the evening. It was jammed packed a lot of people were out socializing and although the atmosphere was giving a relaxed upscale vibe its indoor dining area was pretty tight knit. We decided to take our food to go and walk down a little ways from the restaurant to eat out by the lake. Overall, the food great the portions were small and the staff were very much family oriented! They were all so sweet and playful which very much mimicked the owner of Embers of The Lake whom we had the pleasure of meeting. He gave my three year old nephew a good chunk of dough and spent time talking him through while my nephew kneaded a mini dinosaur pizza! Such a wonderful experience! I'd recommend 1000% to give this place a visit I'm sure it will be a memorable moment one would never forget. read more

Awesome location :) came right when it opened and it was pretty empty. Decided to check out the lake a bit before the sunset and came back 30 minutes later. Bad idea because it was packed after! Haha. We ordered a salad, pizza, and Buffalo wings. Surprisingly the two standouts for me were the salad and the wings. The arugula salad we got was tangy but tasty, and had a generous amount of pecans. The wings come in a super hot cast iron (be careful! My daughter burned her finger grazing the pan) but because of this, it's piping hot and crispy on the outside. The inside was tender and cooked well. The huckleberry lemonade we ordered was refreshing with our meal. The pizza was pretty good, but maybe we ordered the wrong ones. We got 1/2 cali (which was good) and 1/2 clams- to be daring but it actually backfired because the clam pieces were small, tough, and chewy.
