I am an RN of over twenty years, first fifteen years in adult ICU setting. I absolutely loved the specialty with all of the heart-wrenching situations to miracles I've witnessed. It devastated me when I realized I had to leave this nursing environment due to repeat shoulder injuries where worker's comp did not result in anywhere near healing, to say the least. Visits to chiropractor's office, acupuncture, acupressure, etc... worked only temporarily. After twelve sessions at Tomii's, all I can say is, had I received sessions at Tomii's during my ICU days, I would not have left the unit. The shoulder problem that's been ongoing for over a decade has been, finally, addressed!!!! It is important to communicate where you would like the massage to focus on. Bob is a miracle worker! I finally decided to schedule an acupressure appointment as an attempt to get rid of my never-ending daily headaches that was interfering with my life (headaches are seriously the worst). I had sooo many knots in my shoulder/neck area, and he did his best to get everything out. As another yelper mentioned, you leave feeling so refreshed and "lighter". He used his hands in addition to a machine that gets deeep knots out, and hot stones which helped reduce inflammation tremendously, it just felt so good. The machine was a bit uncomfortable at times, but bearable and he quickly stops if it's too much- IT'S A GOOD PAIN!! My headache was gone instantly! You do have to undress before they can begin, but you are covered from the waist down and lying on your stomach so your lady bits aren't exposed. Not once did he make me feel weird or uncomfortable. Extremely professional and gentle, yet used enough force when needed. I used a yelp coupon so I got my first massage for $39 (not including tip). I believe regular price is $60 per session, so I can't come as often as I'd like , but I definitely will return at least once a month or when necessary. read more

4/5 for the hot stone massage (got a sweet deal with a discount for a groupon), 3/5 for atmosphere and 3/5 for experience. Driving on Tustin Ave, I missed the plaza because no u turns are allowed so I parked on the street by a motel. The whole area looks kinda shady but it was ok. I was greeted by my therapist, Ling, and a man who I guess its the doctor since he started telling me about what they specialize in. My room seemed clean. Massage was very good and a little unusual since she massaged my stomach for a longer time (it started growling, how embarrassing!), and even my face. I've never had a hot stone one before so didn't know what to expect. She basically put the hot stones on my back for a while while she massaged other areas and then rubbed them on my back. Unfortunately, there were some distractions that kept me from relaxing completely: *while facing down and covered partially with just a towel, a man just opened the door and said that I was his wife. "Um, no, im not" I said. He said he was just told to go in without knowing which room it was. So it was really both the receptionist and his fault *my room's wall didn't go all the way up to the ceiling so I could hear everything that the ppl outside were saying. My masseuse noticed and eventually went out to tell them to be quiet but left the door open! She also left the room a few other times to help another customer etc. I didn't turn around each time but I didn't hear the door closing so I felt uneasy Overall, it was a good massage at a good price because of the groupon and I did feel less tense afterwards. I rarely write reviews about anything but have to about this place. I have had a problem with fatigue for at least 5 years. I have energy when I wake up but by noon, I am exhausted and can barely focus. All I want to do is sleep. I have been to doctors, specialists, been on programs, diets, exercise, etc and nothing helped. Then, one day when I wanted a massage because I was exhausted and had a terrible headache that meds couldn't get rid of, I searched and found Tomii and thought I would give it a try. I just thought I was getting a regular massage. Boy, was I wrong. Lighter took me right away, did some chi reading on me (which I still don't necessarily understand, but it shows what's going on in your body so they know what to work on)and used massage, hot stones and cupping to treat me in very specific ways and areas. He spent 90 minutes on me for $50! Wow! Not only did the massage feel great and Lighter got rid of my headache, but a few days later, I noticed I was no longer suffering from my noon energy slump. I have energy and I can focus once again. Noone or nothing could help with that for over 5 years and this did!! Lighter says it is like releasing blockages in my body so things can work properly. I don't have to understand it to enjoy the results. I have gone weekly to continue to get my body balanced and have a good massage. I was seen by Dr Bob for a massage for back pain. They did my chi measurements and he tried to explain but his accept was so thick I generally couldn't understand him. I didn't feel like we could really communicate with each other. Then he led me to a small treatment room for a massage. I don't want to get into details but 1) I do really think his motivation was to work on my sore and tense spots and he did a great job at that for the most part but 2) He touched me inappropriately and without asking if it was okay or telling me what he was doing. When I arrived at the appointment time - the business was not even open! I called later on and the owner/manager, Lighter apologized and comped me a free massage. 6/1/14 - Appointment with LIGHTER. He is into the probes and hooking you up to a machine to show you where your chi is blocked. The computer program is in Chinese so you can't trust what it reads unless you can read that language. That was 15 minutes of my life. The massage by him was sporadic. I think Lighter is the owner or manager because when the phone rang, he'd stop the massage and go answer the massage. When the bell rung he'd stop and go help the front desk. Massage was sub-par and not relaxing. 8/10/14 - Appointment with LUCY. I called at Noon and had an appointment with Lucy at 12:30. When I arrived I was told by Lighter that Lucy had taken a walk in appointment and could he do the massage. NEVER GOING BACK. The place is shady as heck, no air conditioning so when you get your hot stone massage you are going to sweat your butt off. DO NOT COME HERE. I purchased vouchers through Amazon local, and scheduled two appointments for myself and my boyfriend at the same time. We arrived early, sat in the lobby waiting, and finally I decided to call them on the phone so that somebody finally came out to greet us. Then, they told us one person could start right away, and one would have to wait 20 minutes. We agreed to do that, and I sent my boyfriend in first. The 20 minutes passed and nobody came to help me. A walk-in arrived, and they brought him in immediately. The guy working with my boyfriend came out, and I asked him when somebody would be able to help me. He said he would do my massage after my boyfriend's was finished. I told him I would prefer to have us overlap, especially since we had planned to begin and end at the same time. He said that wasn't possible, and that I would need to wait. For an hour. Until he was all done. Turns out, it didn't even last quite an hour. Needless to say, I was no longer remotely interested in getting a massage myself. I called amazon local to ask for my money back on the voucher I did NOT use, and they were very helpful. My boyfriend came out in more pain than he went in with. He said it didn't feel like a single knot in his back was worked on, and that it was just awkward. Of course, I feel awful. I just want to start by saying that this place is AMAZING! I've been coming here since 6/15/2021 and it's been a life changer! I suffer from horrendous migraine headaches for 17 years. I've been to Tomii every week since beginning of March. I have seen my overall health improved a lot. My blood sugar was high sometimes close to 300 in the morning during February. But now after less than 2 months treatment at Tommi my blood sugar now lowered to 150. Each time Mr. Chen uses his magic machine to measure then start his treatment based on the result and focus on the weakest point to work on. I have been seeing Lighter Chen at Tomii Massage and Wellness for over a year. I have come to value his services greatly. He has a great interest in and passion for his craft. I have chronic and severe headache pain from several brain surgeries and infections. I have been on nearly every prescription opiate known to Western medicine. When I decided to get off of them because the negative side effects out weighted their minimal efficacy, massage was one of the few options left. I have been to numerous "spas", including being a Massage Envy member for a few years. Getting a consistently effective massage was almost impossible. My favorite therapist was rarely available. Tomii's approach, under the leadership of Lighter Chen, provides for a much better consistency of treatment. First an electronic analysis of your chi is done. The affected meridia are identified. A readout provides information about what is happening inside your body. The results are discussed, and the treatment is based off of them. I went to the Irvine location which closed after only being open a short while. The massages themselves were not bad, but I purchased a 10 massage pack and only received 3 massages before I learned the business was closed. I contacted the Anaheim location for a partial refund of the 7 massages I was still owed. First I was told they would be reopening and that they would contact me when that happened. I later found out that was not true and called them again requesting the manager or owner called me back. I never received a call back. I also contacted them via email through their website. I did receive a response from them but they asked for my bank account information to issue the refund. I obviously didn't feel comfortable with that and requested they refund my credit card or find another way to refund me. I never heard back from them after that. I gave them a week after they, possibly the owner, responded in writing, before filing a claim with Visa. I was also told by the employee who I paid for the 10 massage pack that she no longer worked there and that the business in the Woodbury center where Majestic Spa used to be located was closed for controversial reasons. All in all, I believe I was patient and did give them plenty of time to resolve the matter before filing a claim and writing a review. Additionally, had the business owner had the intention of honoring the massages I had paid for, they really should have been the ones to reach out to me when their Irvine location closed, not vice versa. All in all due to my experiences with this business I would not recommend it to anyone else. Kudos to Mr. Chen for responding to me via email, but he really should have followed through and this could have been avoided. I understand that businesses struggle for a variety of reasons, but if you are not prepared to honor your commitments to your customers you really shouldn't be taking people's money in the first place. read more
