I drove 20 mins to try this place and was turned away at 11:12. The listing says last seating at 11:30pm. They should update the hours to reflect that so that customers don't waste their time!

They're open late! Thank goodness for late night joints. A long day at work equals trying to find dinner with a hope and a smile! We've ordered delivery in the past. This was our first dine-in experience. We weren't the only ones eating a late dinner! We ordered to share: Chicken nanban. They serve it with a tartar sauce of sorts. The flavor is ok but they are a bit heavy handed. Gyoza. Also ok. Also served with the tartar sauce. Also a bit heavy-handed. Next time I will request the Tatar sauce on the side. Spicy miso ramen. We enjoyed it. It was a rainy night and the broth was warm and flavorful. Enjoy!

We came through on a Tuesday. It was very empty only a few people throughout. I got the spicy miso ramen level 1 (was just mild) the charsiu was very tender. The karaage with the curry sauce was awesome! I would love to try to make that myself one day. The special ramen which they serve only 5 per day was very veggie heavy. Personally I wouldn't have gotten it again. But it is very filling so to each their own. The restaurant was small maybe around 25-30 people seating. The service was very good. The waitress was attentive and checked in a lot. I do think we got overcharged since before a certain time it's a free side if you order 2 ramens. But I guess it'll just take a little more time to come back

I usually order their noodles, but this time I decided to try their Japanese curry. The flavor was good but there was hardly any chicken in it. It was no better than what I can get from a microwaveable instant curry packet at the supermarket. I've voiced my opinion with the server and I will try it again in the future to see if any improvements are made.

This place is small You write your name on a list and as people leave they come out check the list and call for you to come in to eat. When we showed up it was full so we waited maybe 20minutes. Service once inside was fast they don't have too big of a menu. Ramen was delicious we added corn aand an egg to the spicy one. Shrimp tempura was perfect The shu mai was interesting, had maybe some rice inside and was sweet which was new to me. I normally love a shrimp shumai. karaage was good pieces were big and not fully coated in the crumbs. Also not picture fried rice it was good. Would definitely come back for the ramen

This was my first time stopping by and luckily I got there early for dinner to try their limited Tomizo Ramen for $15! It's a garlic shoyu tonkotsu base topped with bean sprouts, cabbage, onions and LOTS of garlic which I loved! It's served with a thick flat noodle, and you can add more toppings like a ramen egg if you like. The broth was SO flavorful and it definitely hit the spot on a cold night. The combination of a shoyu and tonkotsu broth makes it umami rich and delicious. Every bite was packed with flavor and a strong taste of garlic which I loved. I wasn't the biggest fan of the noodles since it reminded more of a pasta noodle, but they were still thick and had a great texture. The other ramens on their menu either have a miso or shoyu base, so I'll check it out next time. Definitely recommend stopping by to try this ramen.

I have eaten here several times and enjoy their ramen. The spicy miso and miso broth, which is their signature ramen broth, are good. Their tonkatsu soup is okay. In general, their soup is on the lighter side, but still has enough bold flavors to make the overall dish tasty.

Food (5/5): Want ramen but don't live in Little Tokyo? Tomizo ramen is perfect for you. I have only had their Tomizo ramen which they only serve 5 bowls a day. It's super garlicky and a tad bitter from their cabbage. The soup is such a comforting and earthy flavor. The portion size is also gargantuan considering I'm a big eater. I love tsukemen and unfortunately my favorite place in Gardena closed and I'm super excited to try it! Service (5/5): Their food is quick and they are very attentive. I have only been when it hasn't been super busy. Ambiance (5/5): Great for a quick solo bite, to go with a friend, or casual date! Any party bigger than 4 will have issues fitting unless the 5th person is an infant. Price (5/5): Debit & credit card only, FYI! Reasonable prices for great ramen!

Came here for a late Thursday dinner around 9pm and was a little surprised there was a 15-20 minute wait. The seating is pretty limited, so plan ahead if you're coming during peak times. As a tsukemen lover, I had to try their Dipping Ramen. It was solid, but my heart still belongs to other local ramen spots. The broth here was rich and the noodles were deliciously chewy, but it just didn't quite hit the craving for me. My boyfriend ordered the Tomizo Ramen, which is limited to 3 bowls a day. The menu notes it has "a lot of garlic," but that was an understatement. We're talkin' spoonfuls. It overwhelmed the entire dish and made it tough to enjoy. Those who are garlic-obsessed could possibly enjoy it, but it was too much for us. Have to give them bonus points for the Dodger-themed decor. It added a fun, laid-back vibe that made the space feel social and casual.

First time trying Tomizo and glad we got there early to get a seat because it's not a big restaurant. We ordered their shrimp shumai, chicken karaage and two ramens. The ramens had a unique flavor. I think the broth had a fisher, more seafoody bonito flavor? It was good and their Noodles were really good. Everything was pretty decent.

This place doesn't disappoint Food it's good. The Ramen it's 10/10 love it! Tonight got the Oolong tea and The Spicy Miso Ramen. Service was fast and friendly. Ego was my server and he was so attentive. Definitely will be coming back! And the fact that they closed at 1am

Came here late night on a Friday and it truly is a hole-in-the-wall gem! My sister and I signed up for the waitlist and waited approximately 20-30 minutes to be seated since it's very small inside with limited seating. However, once we got inside, the service was very quick. We got our ramen within 5-10 minutes and it was so delicious! I ordered the scallop miso butter ramen and wow. It was amazingly fragrant and creamy and salty in the best way possible. The corn adds a nice sweetness to balance out all the flavors. The ramen is perfectly chewy and the broth is like a warm hug on a late night. I loved that they gave me a good amount of scallops too and for the price, it was such a deal! Will definitely be returning to try their other ramens as well.

Absolutely delicious! We returned from Hokkaido, Japan three weeks ago and have been craving the ramen from this region. Tomizo appeared on YELP and we went for it. Traditional style Ramen restaurant small and intimate. Warm friendly staff. Best of all ramen noodle soup that delivers all the tastes and textures we experienced in Japan. I tried this place for the first time last Friday night and was very happy with it! It was around 7pm and we got seated right away. It's kind of a small place so maybe we got lucky! The atmosphere inside is very cool and intimate. I ordered the Spicy miso Ramen and it was great! The miso was just right and the pork was perfectly cooked. They were advertising some drinks - strawberry milk and matcha with boba that I didn't get to try but they looked delicious! I will be back :) read more

I tried the Asahikawa Ramen and it was great. It is a Sou Sauce base ramen which I usually never get and that's because soy sauce base ramen is often to salty for my liking. This was no different, however it was still really tasty. I ordered through Grubhub and my order was ready as soon as I arrived. The employee quickly confirmed my order and gave it to me. She was very polite and quick to help. Giving it five stars because it was so delicious even though I usually avoid the soy sauce base ramen from any place yet the toppings, the soup, the noodles, and the service were five star quality. I'll give this place another go soon and probably get their spicy miso option or this interesting ramen with baby scallops in it. read more

A friend let me know that Tomizo was opening the night before. Tired of quarantine cooking, I decided to check it out. GLAD I DID! It's really good. Theres only 1 other ramen place I like...and for sure, Tomizo is the new favorite. I ordered both Miso and shoyu ramen. The broth is rich in flavor, not like the typical ramen joints around here. (All of the ramen joints around start their broth good...and once they get constant customers, they tend to start watering down their broth. I hope Tomizo sticks with their recipe.) The tamago (egg) is soooo good. There's really not too many places where they take the time to do the egg that way. I appreciate it. I never add tamago as an add-on, but at this place I definitely will. My 5 year old daughter was like daddy! The yolk is like honey! Mmmm! The gyoza hand made, not frozen. It's legit. I might go just to order gyoza if I'm not in the mood for ramen. I wish I had it fresh fresh. It took me 12 minutes till I got home and went to town on it. The karaage is really good. I tend to not order karaage at ramen joints but this one is reaaaaaaally good. The meat was juicy and tasty. You can tell they're using quality chicken. We'll see how long that will last. If I were to write one "eh" thing...their chashu was pretty salty. My wife loves super salty things so she liked it... That's it though. Anyway, I rarely use my account to write good reviews...but I felt I had to write this review because people should know it is waaaaaaaay worth it and to help out this new business in this unprecedented time. Next time I go, I am going to try their spicy Miso. Probably next week! read more

Not really what I expected. I ordered spicy miso and there's hardly any soup to cover my ramen noodles. The noodles were really tough to chew and there's a strong taste of ginger in the broth. Best ramen in the South Bay by far. The chicken broth of the miso ramen was perfect. Neither too greasy nor too light, and the perfect amount of noodles. It was super tasty and with plenty of toppings. I added an egg in mine and it couldn't have been more delicious. The gyoza and the Karaage were super yummy appetizers too. Wow! So happy this ramen shop opened! We ordered the miso ramen and chicken karaage. The noodles were the PERFECT texture, broth was delicious and flavorful, veggies were fresh and nothing was compromised. We LOVED the chicken karaage! It came with a lemon wedge and sauce which was the perfect touch of acid to balance the fried chicken. We placed our order and expected to wait (naturally), but our food was delivered fast! The staff was super friendly and asked us exactly how we liked our order. We will be back within a week...literally! Next time I'll try the spicy miso! read more

The 1 thing I would say is that it caught my eye on the home page that they have a new veggie Ramen but then I couldn't find it in the menu to order it. Hands down best ramen in the area! My friend has recommended this place and I can honestly say this is the best ramen I've had in a long time. The flavor profile was incredible and had many complex tones in it. I ordered Tsukemen and it was incredibly delicious! The noodles were perfectly cooked, they weren't too soft and they weren't too firm. There was so much flavor in the broth and in the meat. The waiter was so helpful and attentive and had a great attitude. Overall, I completely enjoyed my visit and highly recommend Tomizo Ramen to anyone in this area. read more

Having worked in the restaurant industry for over 10 years, I've always held deep respect for servers and have never left without tipping--until this visit. The evening started normally enough, but things quickly became uncomfortable due to our server's odd behavior. My husband ordered a beverage, which was then left sitting behind the counter. When he politely asked for water later, the request was forgotten, forcing him to ask another employee. What made the experience particularly unpleasant was overhearing the server's interactions with other customers. The tone was consistently abrupt and seemed to carry an underlying bitterness that created an awkward atmosphere throughout our meal. It was uncomfortable just witnessing these exchanges. The server clearly had favorites--lavishing attention on one particular table while largely submitting a different vibe to all others. This became glaringly obvious when the server actually gave my husband's ordered beverage to what appeared to be friends seated at the neighboring table. When our bill arrived, it was simply dropped in front of us with no pleasantries, no inquiry about our meal, nothing. We wanted to order dessert but were curtly told none were available. I've never experienced such negative energy in a restaurant. Despite my strong belief that tips should always be given, I found myself unable to do so. Tips are earned through service, and when you're made to feel invisible by the staff, it's difficult to reward that behavior. Okay, so I'm always on the hunt for a good ramen spot, and Tomizo Ramen in Gardena did NOT disappoint! I decided to try their Shoyu Ramen, and wow, it was exactly what I was craving. The pork belly chashu was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the bamboo shoots, egg, and seaweed were all perfect additions.
