This is my favorite ramen spot in LA. Every time I come the ramen is piping hot, broth is so flavorful, the pork is tender, and it's always quick! I customize mine and only get it with green onion, corn, ginger, and chashu because I'm a little simple when it comes to my ramen and not a big fan of the other ingredients but it works for me every time. Didn't really understand the concept of pickup times since my order was ready and getting cold when I arrived but didn't get a text saying it was ready. So I foolishly drove my family home and went back to pick up the ramen only to see an email was sent (yes notifications were on) at the time I was there to pick up the ramen but didn't notify the order on grub hub/Yelp... oh and when I got the cold ramen back it was lackluster as best, bland flavors, rubbery chashyu, and they forgot my goddamn egg which I paid extra for... thanks, won't be going here again... the lack of people inside shoulda tipped me off but I fell for the "4.8 stars"... how much do these places have to pay to get good fake reviews?? read more

Went late at night when we visited Los Angeles with a party of 3 at 930pm on a Thursday Seated right away. Our party ordered 2 spicy miso ramen and a tsukamen. Pros: portion size is great and there's unique flavors in the tsukamen. My family and I have tried two highly rated ramen restaurants in Gardena and we Underwhelmed.... que the one eyebrow raise..... I gave Tomizo a shot and all is well. The Spicy ramen and the Asahikawa were packed with flavor and the egg noodle was a very yummy and welcomed change. Ok, first of all, love it! Why? Because it's not a copy of all the tonkotsu style ramen places out there. They went with a Hokkaido style miso (japanese soy bean paste), with has to be a tonkotsu (usually pork/chicken bone broth) and dashi (a fish based broth) to make a very nice easy to eat delicious broth. I happened to get the spicy miso, with a side order of gyoza (pork potsticker usually which is fried/steamed). The gyoza had a good balanced taste of i think some form of cabbage and pork meat, so it wasn't heavy at all, It will appeal to most. It does come with a soy/vinegar? It wasn't very vinegary but sauce was right on, with the layu (spicy sesame oil, just dump the orange oil into the soy sauce and dunk your gyoza in there. Ok back to the ramen, the creamy look of the ramen broth i think confirms the tonkotsu style, but also could be a lighter miso (soy bean paste comes in light to dark styles). The ramen had the dark ear mushrooms, napa cabbage, bean sprouts, green onion and i think shungiku, a green leafy vegetable used in a lot of japanese dishes and of course 2 slices of charsiu (pork belly slices marinated). I added a ramen egg because i just like them lol. Oh and this ramen egg is cooked so the yolk can just barely ooze out, so perfect! One surprise was i love this yellowish egg noodle? Not sure if it is egg noodle, but i love this thicker type noodle, it was really good. Broth is just spicy enough (not spicy for you spice eating people lol) but has a great flavor and just a tad of spice hits you after. I think this place will be a hit, hopefully it can get past this crazy corona virus take out only times. Anyways, staff was super nice, can't wait to try the karaage next (lightly fried chicken) and maybe their dipped ramen. Take a look at my pics, it will get you hungry. And i will take a better pic of the menu, it was in the window so a lot of reflection, but you will at least get to see what's on the menu. Give them a try! Oh and it's right next to Painters Tape (bfast/lunch place) on Redondo beach blvd. Going west before you hit western ave, it's right before the Tire place, and before Tozai plaza. If you get to Tozai plaza on the corner, just park in their parking lot, might be easier and walk over. read more

Today I was craving ramen, which due to Covid restaurants that I would usually order take-out from are closed early. So today I tried to go out of my comfort zone and order ramen from somewhere else. I am so happy I found Tomizo Ramen. I ordered 2 Spicy Miso Ramen (through DoorDash) one for the mister and myself and boy oh boy was is I fairly impressed with the quality of the noodles and the broth. The noodles were egg noodles which I've never tried before. The broth was spicy enough where I'm not dying and chocking on every bite and slurp I take. I'm happy I tried this place, and will be ordering again soon! This is my new ramen spot, order here you won't be disappointed! read more

A great surprise (4.5 star, 2020/8/14)!! They now have mazemen (though it's more like Aburasoba). This place is definitely the best in theGreater LA now, better than Mogumogu and Josui, though simply there are not many place offers mazemen or aburasoba yet. I have to admit I still like the Tokyo-sohongumi's aburasoba the best back in Japan, but I would love to come back here time to time especially now with restrictions to go back to Japan. We actually came here not long ago to try their ramen and tsukemen, which turned out to be awesome. We then heard that they've started a real good mazemen, and thus had to come back here even though we usually don't go back to a same place within a short period of time. The miso ramen has been consistently yummy here. It comes with tender slaps of pork belly, menma (bamboo shoots), wood-ear mushrooms, and bean sprouts. Line is never long and it's a cute small place. It has its own parking lot and is never an issue. read more

Tried this place for the first time today and AHHH! Its so good!! We love everything about this place. Generous portions and reasonably priced!!! What i love most about their ramen is that the noodles are almost al dente and the eggs are uncut! Which i really appreciate. I cant usually finish a bowl of ramen so this is perfect to heat up the following day without worrying about the noodles getting too soggy! I also love egg yolk so everything went in my mouth instead of getting mixed in the soup! Very well thought if u ask me! Oh did i say, the chashu is sliced thicker than other ramen places ive been to? The soup is kinda salty if you dont like salty food. I do, so i truly enjoyed it! I tried the tsukemen つけ麺 and here's my take: Is it the same as Tsujita? Honestly, not the same level. However, if I weigh in the drive I would have to make (I live in Torrance), and the line I would have to wait in for Tsujita, I'd rather spend my money here. The noodles were decent, and the broth was fairly tasty. Tasty enough for me to say, on multiple occasions, "I'm better off coming to Tomizo than going all the way to Tsujita, my money and satisfaction is better spent this way." The broth has the pieces of pork and other vegetables pieces that I would expect. The ramen menu at Tomizo is mostly if not all miso based, but the tsukemen didn't have a miso base or flavor, so I think it's most likely a mixture of tonkotsu and soy base. The broth was good enough for me to save it for a few days in the fridge, and I boiled my own ramen and used the broth again for multiple meals. read more

Visited a few times at this place. It used to be a ok place and the last time tasted totally horrible. We talked to the waiters, a woman with a long hair and the guy, and they said this is what it is, and not to even try to look at our ramen. I told her, "This is not my first visit, and I know it's different." , but she didn't even talk to the kitchen. Horrible experience. Also, It took almost forever to bring food. I got the Spicy Miso and it was excellent. The broth was rich with umami and wasn't too spicy. The pork belly strips it comes with were SO good- some of the best I've had and literally melts in your mouth. The noodles were just the right amount of heft and chew with a beautiful yellow color. Wow, to say I was impressed by this ramen is an understatement! I tried the spicy miso ramen and I loved it! The broth was very tasty, not to spicy. The meat was extremely tender unlike any other ramen spot I've been to. And the noodles! Omg, the noodles are so good! We also ordered karaage and gyoza which were also very tasty. Chicken was tender and juicy. The portions of the food in the picture are actually a bit larger but we started eating before we took said picture because it looked so good! The staff was extremely friendly. Randy was so attentive and nice. He told me that they get their ingredients fresh daily which makes sense why it was so tasty. Overall - amazing ramen spot. It wasn't salty like the first time I got it....i got the spicy miso with chasu and the broth was thick and flavorful and just the right amount of spicy....their gyoza is delicious too...silky wrapping with yummy pork inside...they served it with sesame chili oil and gyoza sauce and it was divine....nownit will be my go to ramen place everytime i crave some because it's 3 minutes away from my house.
