I drove 20 mins to try this place and was turned away at 11:12. The listing says last seating at 11:30pm. They should update the hours to reflect that so that customers don't waste their time!

They're open late! Thank goodness for late night joints. A long day at work equals trying to find dinner with a hope and a smile! We've ordered delivery in the past. This was our first dine-in experience. We weren't the only ones eating a late dinner! We ordered to share: Chicken nanban. They serve it with a tartar sauce of sorts. The flavor is ok but they are a bit heavy handed. Gyoza. Also ok. Also served with the tartar sauce. Also a bit heavy-handed. Next time I will request the Tatar sauce on the side. Spicy miso ramen. We enjoyed it. It was a rainy night and the broth was warm and flavorful. Enjoy!

We came through on a Tuesday. It was very empty only a few people throughout. I got the spicy miso ramen level 1 (was just mild) the charsiu was very tender. The karaage with the curry sauce was awesome! I would love to try to make that myself one day. The special ramen which they serve only 5 per day was very veggie heavy. Personally I wouldn't have gotten it again. But it is very filling so to each their own. The restaurant was small maybe around 25-30 people seating. The service was very good. The waitress was attentive and checked in a lot. I do think we got overcharged since before a certain time it's a free side if you order 2 ramens. But I guess it'll just take a little more time to come back

I usually order their noodles, but this time I decided to try their Japanese curry. The flavor was good but there was hardly any chicken in it. It was no better than what I can get from a microwaveable instant curry packet at the supermarket. I've voiced my opinion with the server and I will try it again in the future to see if any improvements are made.

This place is small You write your name on a list and as people leave they come out check the list and call for you to come in to eat. When we showed up it was full so we waited maybe 20minutes. Service once inside was fast they don't have too big of a menu. Ramen was delicious we added corn aand an egg to the spicy one. Shrimp tempura was perfect The shu mai was interesting, had maybe some rice inside and was sweet which was new to me. I normally love a shrimp shumai. karaage was good pieces were big and not fully coated in the crumbs. Also not picture fried rice it was good. Would definitely come back for the ramen

This was my first time stopping by and luckily I got there early for dinner to try their limited Tomizo Ramen for $15! It's a garlic shoyu tonkotsu base topped with bean sprouts, cabbage, onions and LOTS of garlic which I loved! It's served with a thick flat noodle, and you can add more toppings like a ramen egg if you like. The broth was SO flavorful and it definitely hit the spot on a cold night. The combination of a shoyu and tonkotsu broth makes it umami rich and delicious. Every bite was packed with flavor and a strong taste of garlic which I loved. I wasn't the biggest fan of the noodles since it reminded more of a pasta noodle, but they were still thick and had a great texture. The other ramens on their menu either have a miso or shoyu base, so I'll check it out next time. Definitely recommend stopping by to try this ramen.

I have eaten here several times and enjoy their ramen. The spicy miso and miso broth, which is their signature ramen broth, are good. Their tonkatsu soup is okay. In general, their soup is on the lighter side, but still has enough bold flavors to make the overall dish tasty.

Food (5/5): Want ramen but don't live in Little Tokyo? Tomizo ramen is perfect for you. I have only had their Tomizo ramen which they only serve 5 bowls a day. It's super garlicky and a tad bitter from their cabbage. The soup is such a comforting and earthy flavor. The portion size is also gargantuan considering I'm a big eater. I love tsukemen and unfortunately my favorite place in Gardena closed and I'm super excited to try it! Service (5/5): Their food is quick and they are very attentive. I have only been when it hasn't been super busy. Ambiance (5/5): Great for a quick solo bite, to go with a friend, or casual date! Any party bigger than 4 will have issues fitting unless the 5th person is an infant. Price (5/5): Debit & credit card only, FYI! Reasonable prices for great ramen!

Came here for a late Thursday dinner around 9pm and was a little surprised there was a 15-20 minute wait. The seating is pretty limited, so plan ahead if you're coming during peak times. As a tsukemen lover, I had to try their Dipping Ramen. It was solid, but my heart still belongs to other local ramen spots. The broth here was rich and the noodles were deliciously chewy, but it just didn't quite hit the craving for me. My boyfriend ordered the Tomizo Ramen, which is limited to 3 bowls a day. The menu notes it has "a lot of garlic," but that was an understatement. We're talkin' spoonfuls. It overwhelmed the entire dish and made it tough to enjoy. Those who are garlic-obsessed could possibly enjoy it, but it was too much for us. Have to give them bonus points for the Dodger-themed decor. It added a fun, laid-back vibe that made the space feel social and casual.

First time trying Tomizo and glad we got there early to get a seat because it's not a big restaurant. We ordered their shrimp shumai, chicken karaage and two ramens. The ramens had a unique flavor. Came here late night on a Friday and it truly is a hole-in-the-wall gem! My sister and I signed up for the waitlist and waited approximately 20-30 minutes to be seated since it's very small inside with limited seating. However, once we got inside, the service was very quick. We got our ramen within 5-10 minutes and it was so delicious! I ordered the scallop miso butter ramen and wow. It was amazingly fragrant and creamy and salty in the best way possible. The corn adds a nice sweetness to balance out all the flavors. The ramen is perfectly chewy and the broth is like a warm hug on a late night. I loved that they gave me a good amount of scallops too and for the price, it was such a deal! Will definitely be returning to try their other ramens as well.

Today I was craving ramen, which due to Covid restaurants that I would usually order take-out from are closed early. So today I tried to go out of my comfort zone and order ramen from somewhere else. I am so happy I found Tomizo Ramen. I ordered 2 Spicy Miso Ramen (through DoorDash) one for the mister and myself and boy oh boy was is I fairly impressed with the quality of the noodles and the broth. The noodles were egg noodles which I've never tried before. The broth was spicy enough where I'm not dying and chocking on every bite and slurp I take. I'm happy I tried this place, and will be ordering again soon! This is my new ramen spot, order here you won't be disappointed! read more

I ordered takeout, but had very low expectations based on the last ramen spot I ordered. I was pleasantly surprised and extremely impressed. The location is tiny, but the customer service, although brief, was over the top. Visited a few times at this place. It used to be a ok place and the last time tasted totally horrible. We talked to the waiters, a woman with a long hair and the guy, and they said this is what it is, and not to even try to look at our ramen. I told her, "This is not my first visit, and I know it's different." , but she didn't even talk to the kitchen. Horrible experience. Also, It took almost forever to bring food. A great surprise (4.5 star, 2020/8/14)!! They now have mazemen (though it's more like Aburasoba). This place is definitely the best in theGreater LA now, better than Mogumogu and Josui, though simply there are not many place offers mazemen or aburasoba yet. I have to admit I still like the Tokyo-sohongumi's aburasoba the best back in Japan, but I would love to come back here time to time especially now with restrictions to go back to Japan. We actually came here not long ago to try their ramen and tsukemen, which turned out to be awesome. We then heard that they've started a real good mazemen, and thus had to come back here even though we usually don't go back to a same place within a short period of time. The miso ramen has been consistently yummy here. It comes with tender slaps of pork belly, menma (bamboo shoots), wood-ear mushrooms, and bean sprouts. Line is never long and it's a cute small place. It has its own parking lot and is never an issue. read more

Tried this place for the first time today and AHHH! Its so good!! We love everything about this place. Generous portions and reasonably priced!!! What i love most about their ramen is that the noodles are almost al dente and the eggs are uncut! Which i really appreciate. I cant usually finish a bowl of ramen so this is perfect to heat up the following day without worrying about the noodles getting too soggy! I also love egg yolk so everything went in my mouth instead of getting mixed in the soup! Very well thought if u ask me! Oh did i say, the chashu is sliced thicker than other ramen places ive been to? The soup is kinda salty if you dont like salty food. I do, so i truly enjoyed it! The cilantro gyoza is also to die for. I like how their menu is straightforward and gave me the same vibe as when i visited Japan!!! Staff is super nice and friendly! Pretty new place in Gardena and during COVID, only limited selection of places open late. This new place was open and I made my order on Yelp - and it was very easy. I tried the tsukemen つけ麺 and here's my take: Is it the same as Tsujita? Honestly, not the same level. However, if I weigh in the drive I would have to make (I live in Torrance), and the line I would have to wait in for Tsujita, I'd rather spend my money here. The noodles were decent, and the broth was fairly tasty. Tasty enough for me to say, on multiple occasions, "I'm better off coming to Tomizo than going all the way to Tsujita, my money and satisfaction is better spent this way." The broth has the pieces of pork and other vegetables pieces that I would expect. The ramen menu at Tomizo is mostly if not all miso based, but the tsukemen didn't have a miso base or flavor, so I think it's most likely a mixture of tonkotsu and soy base. The broth was good enough for me to save it for a few days in the fridge, and I boiled my own ramen and used the broth again for multiple meals. read more

I got the Spicy Miso and it was excellent. The broth was rich with umami and wasn't too spicy. The pork belly strips it comes with were SO good- some of the best I've had and literally melts in your mouth. The noodles were just the right amount of heft and chew with a beautiful yellow color. I wish there was slightly more broth but other than that, it was an excellent bowl of ramen! Very nice staff as well. read more

Wow, to say I was impressed by this ramen is an understatement! I tried the spicy miso ramen and I loved it! The broth was very tasty, not to spicy. The meat was extremely tender unlike any other ramen spot I've been to. And the noodles! Omg, the noodles are so good! We also ordered karaage and gyoza which were also very tasty. Chicken was tender and juicy. The portions of the food in the picture are actually a bit larger but we started eating before we took said picture because it looked so good! The staff was extremely friendly. Randy was so attentive and nice. He told me that they get their ingredients fresh daily which makes sense why it was so tasty. Overall - amazing ramen spot. Went to the Dodger game tonight...sadly they lost...and since food at the stadium is no bueno we was hungry and sadly everything in J-town closed early. Found this place on Yelp and it was legit! Garlic edamame, gyoza, chicken karage, miso ramen and spicy ramen did not disappoint!!!! Service was A+ too even tho we were there late. Sorry no pics but believe me it's bomb! We'll be back!!!! Only negative no beer so hopefully they add a 2nd restroom and can start serving beer. read more

Came home from the worst trip to a messy house and needed a comfort meal. This was the best decision ever! My boyfriend and I were super happy with the Spicy Miso ramen. Meat to ramen ratio is amazing for the price point. Broth is flavorful but does not make you feel heavy or queasy. The wood ear mushrooms were a great treat. Ok I gave this place another cahance and I'm glad I did because this time the ramen was delicious! It wasn't salty like the first time I got it....i got the spicy miso with chasu and the broth was thick and flavorful and just the right amount of spicy....their gyoza is delicious too...silky wrapping with yummy pork inside...they served it with sesame chili oil and gyoza sauce and it was divine....nownit will be my go to ramen place everytime i crave some because it's 3 minutes away from my house. I came here after a tough night, and I gotta say my mood completely shifted. Rika-san was super nice and the food was phenomenal. If there's anything that can make me happy, it's a warm bowl of ramen. The broth was nice and oily with plenty of meat. I actually used postmates for this restaurant. I was hesitant at first because I had picked ramen from another restaurant last time and it was just okay. They open pretty late and have good ramens. The only thing I don't like is they put cilantro to ramen. They have good hokkaido ramens but usually in ramen we don't put cilantro in Japan :( read more

Has outdoor 8' apart dining which is nice to be able to sit down somewhere other than home during these times. The ramen was Amazing, I got the original and it wasn't too salty, lots of broth, the only downside is there was not much meat, but for the price, next time I will order double meat and it will then be perfect! Having worked in the restaurant industry for over 10 years, I've always held deep respect for servers and have never left without tipping--until this visit. The evening started normally enough, but things quickly became uncomfortable due to our server's odd behavior. My husband ordered a beverage, which was then left sitting behind the counter. When he politely asked for water later, the request was forgotten, forcing him to ask another employee. What made the experience particularly unpleasant was overhearing the server's interactions with other customers. The tone was consistently abrupt and seemed to carry an underlying bitterness that created an awkward atmosphere throughout our meal. It was uncomfortable just witnessing these exchanges. The server clearly had favorites--lavishing attention on one particular table while largely submitting a different vibe to all others. This became glaringly obvious when the server actually gave my husband's ordered beverage to what appeared to be friends seated at the neighboring table. When our bill arrived, it was simply dropped in front of us with no pleasantries, no inquiry about our meal, nothing. We wanted to order dessert but were curtly told none were available. I've never experienced such negative energy in a restaurant. Despite my strong belief that tips should always be given, I found myself unable to do so. Tips are earned through service, and when you're made to feel invisible by the staff, it's difficult to reward that behavior. Okay, so I'm always on the hunt for a good ramen spot, and Tomizo Ramen in Gardena did NOT disappoint! I decided to try their Shoyu Ramen, and wow, it was exactly what I was craving. The broth was rich and flavorful - you could definitely taste the chicken, pork, and dashi, but it wasn't overpowering. The pork belly chashu was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the bamboo shoots, egg, and seaweed were all perfect additions. They use a medium straight noodle that I really liked - it had a nice bite to it. Honestly, it was just a really satisfying bowl of ramen. But the best part? My 7-year-old son is a super picky eater. We usually struggle to find something he'll actually eat at ramen places. Tomizo has a kid's noodle for only $5! We chose the shoyu broth, which was perfect for him, and he slurped it down happily. That alone makes this place a winner in my book. The service was also friendly and quick. The restaurant itself has a nice, casual atmosphere. I recently visited Tomizo Ramen and really enjoyed the warm, cozy atmosphere and fast, attentive service. **Spicy Miso Ramen:** The broth is rich and flavorful, perfectly complementing the corn and egg I added. It could use some seaweed for an extra kick. **8/10** **Tomizo Ramen:** Loved the garlic flavor and the noodles were spot on. Added an egg, but like the miso, it would be better with some seaweed. **7.4/10** **Fried Rice:** Don't miss out on this! It's light and pairs well with any ramen.
