Delicious slider, the meat was cooked a little more on the rare side than a med rare, but the flavor was fantastic! Kona Coffee crusted Ribeye 10/10 Med rare. Cooked perfect. Flavor was fantastic. The only issue is with a med rare cook, it's slightly difficult to cook down the fat as much as it needs to be. Sat at the bar and had a bite to eat and a drink. My husband opted for the lager on draft which was very refreshing and crisp and I opted for the coconut cloud martini which was delicious! The bar was pretty busy, steady. I decided to have the crab cake appetizer as my meal and my husband had the all American burger. Both items were very good! I gave 4 stars for two reasons. Number one the live music was a little much. The soup and biscuits were actually better than should be in any scenario - highly recommend both! One star off : All signage points to happy hour in the restaurant - that is not the case. Why have I not been to this Tommy Bahama before? As a local that had not heard much about this amazing restaurant, I feel like I have been missing out! This is now our new family place to go! We went to Tommy Bahamas for the first time tonight and not only was the food amazing, the service was exceptional! Coming from a customer service and sales industry, the waitress all the way up to the General Manager went out of the way to make sure we felt 5 service. I was a little overwhelmed with all of the delicious options and the waitress (Krishna?) was so great to explain some of the top favorites and I loved all of her suggestions! The Manager, Niko (?) and I believe the GM (I think his name was Don or Dirk) stopped by the table and genuinely cared about our experience as they were walking around greeting others. We walked away truly impressed overall and are anxious to go back! The atmosphere, the half off happy hour and the live music was all welcoming and enjoyable! Coming to this location for the first time proved that streak still continues. The LUMP BLUE CRAB BISQUE - Sherry, Cream, Crushed Herb Croutons to start was fabulous. The MACADAMIA-NUT-CRUSTED SNAPPER - Hawaiian Red Sea Salt, Almond Rice, Grilled Asparagus, Wasabi Soy Beurre Blanc was just as good. Yes, something I usually pass on entirely, dessert, the key lime pie was great too. The only disappointment was the piña colada I ordered. The "bar" is set high on this one by the Marlin Bar in Orlando so I'll give them a pass. Service was very attentive and the place itself is brand new. I wish the developer would have made more parking closer to the buildings. In the off season it was nuts, coming here during peak season is going to be a challenge. Very classy place with outstanding service starting with the hostess who sat us with a nice table overlooking the park. My husband and I were on vacation with five other couples and we had a birthday dinner at Tommy Bahama. The place was really busy but we had reservations so our table was ready when we got there. We were seated in a separate room from the main dining room which wasn't too bad but it wasn't as private as we would have liked. Our server was really nice and attentive to such a large group. My husband ordered the steak with fries and I ordered a half a rack of ribs with mashed potatoes. My husband's steak was well cooked but lacked seasoning. My ribs were cold when they came out and the mashed potatoes were runny. I mentioned to the waiter about how cold my ribs were and he to my surprise took the meal off my meal which I appreciate it. My personal favorites on the menu are the chicken & mango salad (lunch - offered without chicken at dinner as the Bungalow salad) and the Parmesan-crusted sanibel chicken (dinner). But really everything we have had there is good! Note to parents of picky eaters- the kids chicken tenders are not what you would typically expect. They're battered in cornbread with chives like a hush puppy tempura. My daughter likes them, but I could see some picky eaters being a little put off my the green flecks and the breading. We got the blackened mahi-mahi tacos and the baby back ribs half size. It only came with two tacos, they did have a lot of fish in them, but I feel like they could've had three. Everything was very flavorful. We also got the biscuits as an appetizer, they are a little small but filling! Also, if you get the lemonade, it is very sour because it's made from scratch. After a short wait, we were seated in the bar area. Our server was prompt with taking our order. We started with the coconut shrimp appetizer. My family and I have been coming to Tommy Bahama's every year while on vacation, and it has always been one of the places we make a point to visit multiple times during our trip. We are typically there at least three out of the seven days we stay in town. Unfortunately, after our experience on Mother's Day, we do not plan on returning. We arrived around 4:30 p.m. with a party of nine, hoping to enjoy some of the happy hour menu and pricing. We were kept waiting in the front until exactly 5:00 p.m., even though it was obvious that tables on the back deck were already available. Once seated, our server was polite and did a good job taking care of us. During conversation, we mentioned the long wait, and he explained that it is apparently "protocol" to delay seating larger parties until after 5:00 so they do not receive happy hour pricing. If that is truly company policy, I find it extremely disappointing and dishonest. We felt manipulated instead of welcomed. The food quality was also far below what we have experienced in past years. The crusted snapper that was recommended to us was terrible and had to be sent back. My grandson's burger was also very poor quality and honestly unpleasant. The only dishes our table generally agreed were decent were the squash casserole bowl and the chicken parmesan. Another disappointment was learning that bread is no longer served. For families with children, that was always something simple that helped while waiting on meals. Between the removal of those small touches, the higher prices, and the noticeable decline in food quality, the restaurant no longer feels worth returning to. I'm not writing this to get anyone in trouble. Local- Hadn't been back since the renovation project completed in November What happened? Used to be a little on the expensive side- now a lot on the expensive side for mediocre quality. Fish tacos- used to serve 3 for less than they sell 2 today. Tortilla Soup- I remember a year ago they sold a good sized bowl for $12 - oh, and it actually had tortilla strips in with the soup. It has only been three weeks since they reopened. It is to be a favorite of ours. We are local. Four bartenders and we had dinner. No one took responsibility for us. That no one is in charge by customer does not work. They changed their famous crab salad that was molded. New free form salad was not as good. New menu looks like there are some new items to try, but we won't be back until we see some raving fans. Best items was the bread which was a grilled sliced baguette. Every bartender constantly drank from their own Yeti or plastic glass and they were more interested in keeping them full than paying attention to the guests. Another great experience at Tommy Bahamas. We visited Destin for five days and we opted to eat here 2 of those nights! I got the scallops and shrimp with coconut curry, it was amazing. Hubby got the Kona coffee crusted ribeye. Cooked medium rare to perfection but a bit of a chewy texture. A young man named Trip was our server and was very polite and personable.
