Visited for dinner around 7:30 PM. We were seated within 5 minutes, but service was slow from there. It took about 15 minutes for our drink order to be taken, another 15-30 minutes to get drinks and place our food order, and 30+ minutes for the food to arrive. After dinner, it took about 15 minutes to get the check and another 15 minutes to get it back after paying. Expect a 2+ hour dinner. We ordered the grouper sandwich with sweet potato fries ($28) and the fish tacos (2) with chips and salsa ($25). Both tasted good, especially the grouper, though the portions felt a little small for the price. The restaurant got busier as the evening went on, but it was still easy to carry on a conversation. If you're sitting outside, choose the chairs instead of the bench seating--your butt will thank you. Very welcoming and friendly place. Peaceful atmosphere with ample parking. Lots of bar drinks and bites. Fresh catch and grouper is a plus. Dogs are allowed on the patio deck which is a requirement for us when we travel. They even have a dog park which was very much needed for our pup. They would get a higher rating if they had less fried food and more health-conscious items. The service was friendly yet the order delivery to table was quite slow. There are TV's for sports watching and a fish clean-up station. What a nice find! read more

Stopped here with family on a Friday night and all the tables were full but in less than five minutes a table had left so we grabbed that table. Smaller parties of 2 or 3 could easily belly up to the bar/ledge seating they have that looks out to the marina. I don't think they take reservations (looked online and didn't see any directions for making one) so I think you have to just roll the dice as a walk-in and see how busy or not busy they are. The service was a lovely 5-stars for our waitress, don't remember her name but she was blonde with an accent, who handled our entire table efficiently with a smile and got us whatever we needed. My Stress Reliever cocktail was perfect (vodka, coconut rum, & pineapple & cranberry juices) so I recommend their drinks! The food is the only thing that could use improvement. It's good, but nothing great, and some things were a little off. As an example, my steak quesadilla was too thick/weighed down with filling so the tortilla got soggy. Others in our party thought their dishes could have used more flavor or seasoning. Just a few tweaks could probably make a big difference. Regardless, the setting right on the dock of the marina is gorgeous especially as the sun sets. And our dog was welcomed since we were sitting outside. We all had a nice time even if the food wasn't exceptional. I recommend this for casual diners who just want a quick bite or drinks, it's probably good for kids too given the straight-forward menu. read more

Loved the food at the marina restaurant inside our resort at Sandestin. It was so good we ate here three times during our 6 day stay. Things to know....seating can be hard to secure and you seat yourself. Some bar top tables inside around the bar and an assortment of covered and exposed tables outside on the do k. Located right on the marina you can get her by free resort shuttle, golf cart, boat, car (there is a parking lot by the tennis courts) or by walking. It's a short walk from Baytowne Wharf two ways, one through a shaded trail, and another over a deck walkway over the marsh lands, which we enjoyed. On the way you see native birds, lizards, and there's even a public tree house with great views. Prices were fair and portion sizes generous. I especially enjoyed the marine Rachel sandwich with tropical Cole slaw that contained pineapple. The loaded fries appetizer was huge and more than enough for two people. The downfall is service is slow and not very attentive. Each time we had to hunt them down for a check and it took forever to get our card back. It's not like they are short staffed either as they had plentr6of servers, buyers, and food runners. Forget about getting a refill! I should also mention the restaurant is adjacent to a small sandy bay beach complete with chairs and a fire pit. Can't find a seat grab your grub to go and eat on the beach! read more

Marina Cafe is an awesome restaurant that a lot of locals refer to as "best this" or "best that". I would personally give it a 4/5. The place is nice, you can make reservations which is helpful, view is a 10, and the food is good as well though not mind blowing though. One thing I really don't care for though is I feel like some of the decor is a bit weird. It's almost like whoever owns the restaurant has a wife who wanted to deck out the restaurant with Hobby Lobby crystals. And there's weird furniture in the bathroom area? It's just oddly decorated and imo takes away from whatever swanky rapport they're trying to build. At the end of the day I do still recommend this restaurant. Pork belly and filet mignon apps are awesome and I do love the coconut cream pie! read more

Dropped in at lunch on a Sunday and initially sat at a table on the perimeter of the bar. After 5 to 10 minutes moved up to the bar where we were promptly offered beverages and menus. Since it was hotter than hades, we both wanted a frozen drink. We each got the 101 rum piña colada. It was delightfully icy with a floater of rum on top. Hubby loves oysters so he got a dozen raw. Bartender told him they were rather small and her description was accurate. The two of us also shared the grouper bites and onion rings both of which were absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. Food came out of kitchen very soon after ordering. Tab for two was $89. It was mainly a beach/boating crowd but wasn't very loud. The parrot Maryanne was a unique touch. read more

Stopped for a late lunch while cruising around the wharf, looking in shops and exploring. We discovered this little bar and grill located right on the mariana. We ate outside and it was a bit chilly but nice atmosphere. Service was good and food decent. I split a bacon avocado sandwich that came with fries and then added a slaw. Huge serving, plenty of food for two and everything was pretty good. Sandwich was on Texas toast and could have had another piece or two of bacon for my taste and a bit more avocado but tasted good. Fries and slaw both very good. Good service nice setting and decent food. I would recommend. Parking near the tennis courts and then you meander back to the bar. Great casual dinner spot in Sandestin. We usually go here at least once whenever we are in town. It's a great spot for families because it is less crowded than the wharf, has a great kids menu, solid grown up menu, and a beer, cocktail, and wine list. An easy golf cart ride within Sandestin with plenty of cart parking. They have a parrot living outside named Mary Ann our kids love, and it's right on the marina with great views and scenery you can walk right up to. I recommend the grouper sandwich. They claim it is famous; I don't know about that but it is really good. The patio is great and so is the service. I highly recommend as a casual dinner spot if you are in the area with your family. read more

The tables and picnic tables outdoor give you a chance to enjoy people and dog watching as people go back and forth from their boats to the marina. Most people seemed to be enjoying the mix your own Bloody Mary bar which looked inviting. There were only 4 or 5 choices and our server seemed to reject any thought of substituting the breakfast potatoes for something else. Fruit instead she said $4 upcharge. My husband had the classic: bacon, 2 eggs, breakfast fried potatoes and one piece of toast $13. I had the frittata with chorizo and potatoes and the same piece of toast for $14. Add an ice tea and sprite and you are talking $40 with tip for an average at best breakfast. My advice is to get a drink and enjoy the ambiance. read more

It's dependable, easy choices and all the more with a view such as theirs it's easy to just enjoy the atmosphere while waiting on the food. Service is a little slow but I credit that to small house staff, they're doing the best they can! Like I said take a walk out on the marina and you'll have no problem waiting while you look at the boats and the sunset over the still waters! We got coconut shrimp, maybe the best thing they have on the menu. Also tried the shrimp and fish baskets, good classic fried food. Sweet potato fries are always a must. Good ranch! A casual spot with a great view! If you're coming during the summer, be prepared to wait a while as seating is somewhat limited. Very kid-friendly and right on the Baytowne Marina, where there's paddleboarding and jet skiing. We came during a really busy time, so the service wasn't super quick, but we were in no rush so it wasn't bothersome at all - our server was incredibly nice and did the best she could! This grill at Sandestin resort offers beautiful views of the marina. Great place to relax with a good cold beer. The service is good but food could use some refinement. I ate the waiters suggested favorite selling item the Mile high Nachos. They were not mile high and had no taste at all. Although they looked appetizing I was not impressed. The ground beef was tasteless and instead of using shredded cheese it was covered in a nasty liquidity cheese sauce that I know came right out the can or container. And it was not even cooked in an oven. You will like the deck view and talking parrot but this place should only be visited for the beer. I will say the beer was nice and cold. read more

I needed a late night snack, so I headed to this restaurant for some chicken wings. The customers told me that I needed to yell because it gets pretty loud & crowded on the weekends.
