Delicious! That is the first word that comes to mind. It was a cold, dark rainy sunday afternoon. Saw a ad for Iggys and decided to grab some clam cakes. The wife says " lets try the new place Tommy's on Warwick Ave". Arrived at Tommy's ( it is set back on warwick ave) was greeted by a friendly employee. Placed my order for a dozen and a half clam cakes and a clam roll. 5 minutes later the food came out and I got in my car and drive home. While in my way back home had to try a clam cake. WOW it was the beat clam cake I have ever had. The outside was crunchy, the inside was chewy. It was perfect. I had eaten three of them by the time I got home. I opened up the clam roll and I have never seen so many clams in a clam roll before. The roll was full of clams, they were perfect! I will definitely e going back to Tommy's. Just one suggestion, how about making your own tartar sauce? That would give you 5 stars in my book! read more

Tried to go here three times and every single time they are closed before their listed hours. I've been at 6pm, 6:30, 6:45. For a place that claims to be open until 8pm that's pretty sad. The portion size for the lobster salad is generous and light and filling! The clam chowder is really good! The clam belly is worth it! It is huge and juicy! I find myself in commuting between Boston and Warwick a few weekends each spring and fall. I stumbled across Tommy's on one trip and try to make it there at least twice on my way back Boston. We were craving chowder and clam cakes so we drove towards iggy's. we remembered that the new shack next to dockside recently opened up. We got the white chowder and clam cakes. The chowder was delicious it had a great smokey bacon flavor to it with lots of clams. Probably one of the best chowders I've had. The clam cakes were very tasty great for dunking. Fresh seafood. We've been here several times and never had a bad meal. They ran out of the 1 1/4 lb lobsters for the lobster steamer combo so they substituted it with a 2.5lb lobster. Would we mind because it would take a little extra time to cook? Umm,no we dont mind at all! My bf said it was delicious and definitely worth the wait! We went here a few weeks ago because Rocky Point wasn't open for the season yet. There were no lines since it was a rainy day. I heard the lines get crazy long! The workers are wicked friendly. Food hit the spot but I've had better seafood elsewhere. We ordered from their little supermarket next door! I live in Delaware and don't have access to New England style seafood, so I had a function in Rhode Island and decided to try Tommy's. I was not happy with the quality of the food, the whole belly clams we're missing in action little to no bellies to speak of. The beer badder fish was like can I get a little fish with my bladder...My other gripe is a personal preference for Sea Scallops over Bay Scallops. If I'm going to pay premium prices I want premium seafood. I'm not going to about their attempt to make a Lobster Roll that cost me 18.00 bucks. My husband is a native Rhode Islander, and we visit several times a year. We have tried many of the local clam shacks and Tommy's is right up there. Tasty chowder, great clam cakes and sweet steamers .. to die for. Tommy's Trio is a great meal -- cup of chowder, 3 cakes and 1/2 lobster roll (which is as large as some whole rolls I've had) for $14.99. We'll be back!! read more

One thing: Get some better signage. Easy to drive by and never get what a cool set-up you have way in the back of that lot with just that fold-out stand sign on a busy road. Otherwise, very glad to have found this stand. PERFECTLY fried clams, decent value. Tried the fish tacos, a bit more fish and less lettuce would be appreciated, but good flavor and an otherwise respectable version of the Cali-style with a good relish. No restrooms and a vending machine for soda.....uhhhh..SMART. 2 Machines with good choices, the port-a-potty in back is cleaner than most restaurants according to my girlfriend. Might not want to advertise t-shirts unless you have them to sell after Dockside is closed, especially with the veiled references which I find hilarious in our uptight world. Not as good as last summer. I was disappointed with the fried clams and clam cakes this time. Not sure what the change is but PLEASE go back. This was our go to place! We've had fried clams, chowder, clam boil, lobster and clam cakes. Last year we were here weekly. This year, once and the family was extremely disappointed. This little shack was amazing. My husband had the baked seafood platter and I had RI clear chowder (the only chowder for a native RIer) and my son had steamers and clam cakes. This place is the shizz. I come to RI on business often and I hit up all the local spots to get my lobster roll fix. This place is the spot for Lobster Rolls. Toasty, buttery, full of chunk lobster with just a bit of mayo to bind it. Add a bed of lettuce and it's all you can do not to order another. Try it with a cup of white and you wont be disappointed. Only thing you need to remember is to bring some cash to buy a drink from the machines. People on here that are giving it a hard time have an agenda. Iggy's is good also so pick based on what you like better. I personally don't want to get harassed by beach freaks so I go to Tommy's. read more

Awesome! Double lobster dinner for $19.99 that was fresh, juicy, and perfectly cooked. They even split the tail and put some cuts in the shells to make cracking easy. This was my second time coming here and I was not disappointed! I got the scallops with clam cakes and my parents got a lobster roll and the whole belly clam dinner.
