So far so good! This recently opened clam shack doesn't have the views or the ambiance of South County/Galilee clam shacks (Post Road rather than beaches and harbors) but the food has the potential to give them a run for their money. We've only had their whole belly fried clams at this point - but they are definitely on-point! Non-greasy, lightly battered whole belly clams were quite good and fresh. Came with a nicely tart tarter sauce. A promising preview of summer. If you need a fried clam fix, Roy's will do quite admirably without having to trek all the way down Route 1 (and presumably avoid the crowds when tourist season starts). Roy's also does plenty of other Rhodie favorites like stuffies, fish & chips, fried calamari, doughboys, NY system weiners, as well as burgers, BLT's, and other sandwiches. I'm looking forward to trying those too! Take-out only, outdoor seating is available. No table service. Takes cash or credit cards.

    Baked Haddock

Stopped by for dinner and opted for the baked haddock. While the dish was cooked well, it lacked the flavor I was expecting. The cracker crumb topping and butter were barely noticeable, leaving the overall experience a bit underwhelming. It was a very plain dish. Based on this, I believe this spot shines more for its fried offerings rather than its baked options.

    Cap cod Reuben

Highly recommend you check out Roy boys! The food was delicious and so reasonably priced. The cape cod Reuben is phenomenal and I was very impressed with the fried shrimp- the batter was light and crispy and the shrimp tasted so fresh and perfectly cooked, not over cooked in the slightest. Everything exceeded my expectations greatly!

    Clams and Scallops??

I was craving fried clams and had a delivery coupon so I thought I'd order from Roy Boy's. I ordered the entrée of fried clams and sea scallops. I was surprised it didn't come with anything but for an additional $3.99 I could get fries and coleslaw. Projected time of delivery was 30-60 minutes. I asked for contactless delivery with instructions to ring the doorbell and leave the bag on top of the package delivery box. The order came on time though the delivery person didn't ring the doorbell but stood outside the door yelling "hello! hello". I guess he finally saw the big brown plastic box with a package delivery sign on top and he left the food there. I was so happy to be getting seafood and figured if it came from a clam shack it had to be good. Well.... The clams were so over cooked they were all clumped together. The clams were also so hard from over frying they were almost impossible to chew. They were the consistency of dry/crunchy breakfast cereal. The scallops I think must have been old and frozen since they were mushy and the breading wouldn't stick to the scallop. Now remember the extra charge for fries and scallops? The fries were okay not good, not bad. A little soggy but that happens with delivery fries. The coleslaw was the only really good thing about the meal and you got about a tablespoon. The majority of the box of food was fries. A great disappointment. I do not recommend getting seafood delivered from this "Shack". I threw most of it away. Thankfully I had a gift card that paid for most of it.

I kicked things off with a Cove Punch, a magical mix of a couple different kinds of rum and fruit juices... so basically a healthy smoothie, right? It was absolutely delicious and exactly what was needed on a hot day! For appetizers, we ordered the Calamari Balsamic and the Watermelon Feta Salad. Dang... both were incredible! The calamari was cooked perfectly, and the watermelon feta salad was something I'd never had before. Sweet, savory, refreshing... both are absolute must-orders. Next up was a cup of the New England Clam Chowder. You can't go wrong with a classic, and this one didn't disappoint. For lunch, I went with the Wickford Lobster Roll... WOW! Served warm with melted butter, the only correct way to eat a lobster roll in my book. It was packed with lobster, buttery, and absolutely delicious. If you visit, this is a must-have! Others at our table ordered the Fish Tacos and a Hamburger, and everyone cleaned their plates. That's always a good sign. The service was outstanding, friendly, attentive, and always there when we needed something without ever feeling rushed. If you're arriving by boat or just looking for a fantastic waterfront lunch, put this place on your list. Great food, great drinks, great service... what more could you ask for? Cheers!

Wickford on the Water has a prime spot with water views from their deck and side windows. In summer this place if full most days due to it's location. Recently we stopped in for lunch. The street side of the building is a dining room, while the water side is a bar area with bar seating and high top tables. Single men's and women's rooms are in the hallway connecting the two spaces. Wait to be seated by the hostess. On our visit, the hostess sent us down the hall to 'see Angelo' in the bar as the dining room was full. Angelo let us pick a table and brought menus. We placed our drink order and spent a good deal of time looking over the menu. Angelo was patient and gave us plenty of time to decide. Their website has options for ordering pick-up or delivery through door dash where you can view those menu options, but not 'just the menu' as a stand alone page to preview. It was a sunny, cold day and I decided on the short rib shepherds pie and a side salad. The salad arrived first. It was very lightly dressed with fresh lettuce and brittle croutons. The shepherds pie arrived in a casserole, hot from the oven with cheese melted over the potatoes. My first bite was potatoes. They were tasty enough with the melted cheese on top. No need for salt or other seasonings. My second bite had a mere hint of meat in an oily sauce under all those potatoes. After eating a quarter of the dish and finding very little short rib, I began to move the potato out of the way to access the meat. This revealed an inconsistent, thin film of meat at the bottom of the bowl. I do love potatoes, and these were tasty, however, for that price, I expect more protein. The restaurant was quiet during our visit. They have a nice mix of relaxing, current music playing in the background. The restaurant and restroom were clean. Deck dining and bar, in warmer weather, is a nice option and the menu offers a variety of food choices from apps to entrees. Staff are competent. Parking is on-street and in the local public lot nearby.

My Son and I were there Sunday early afternoon to celebrate the US Men winning olympic gold in hockey earlier that morning and had an excellent experience. The food and service was EXCELLENT. We throughly enjoyed the experience. It's been 6 months since our last visit, it won't be nearly that long before we return. We had a great time. My only negative comment, the appetizer/ sauce bar that I was critical of in September hasn't changed . Management really needs to change that set up. It's just not hygienic, when you lean over the get a plate or bowl stored under that bar, your face is inches away from the unprotected buckets of sauce, it's not a good set up and needs to be changed.
