I come to Tommy's on and off when I need a wash, I stopped in considering I had a free wash for the works which the works is about $25. The works wash is literally what it states, the WORKS, you get a wax, clean, tires clean , dry and few other things. My vehicle came out shiny and fresh I wish they offered a free air fresher with the works package ( regardless I already got it for free $25 is a lot for a wash on a regular basis. I have been very disappointed in Tommy's express car wash. I've been a member for a while and they started providing towels to dry your car, which was really nice, but now I've noticed that they just fold up the dirty ones and put it in the clean towel stack. Very poor service. If they're not gonna provide clean towels to use, they should just get rid of them. My car mat got stuck inside their mat cleaning machine. The employees couldn't fix the issue, so they had to go track down the manager. I know it's not the employees' fault the machine is broken, especially since one of them mentioned that mats have been getting stuck. If that is the case, why not put up an out of order sign? When the manager finally showed up, they just yanked my soaking wet mat out of the machine, handed it back to me, and casually said, "Thank you, have a nice day." There was no apology for the machine malfunctioning, no explanation, and zero effort to help dry it off. I literally left with a soaking wet floor mat and a terrible experience. read more

We've gone here quite a bit and the car always seems to get a good wash. Our front license plate would get bent though, so make sure your license plates are secure. You drive through the cashier window for a one-time wash or buy a monthly membership. They have a goodly amount of vacuums and trash stations at the end as well. We went for the Haunted Car Wash last night and I have to say it was not as scary as a few years ago when they had people trying to open your doors inside the wash. Maybe someone took a door handle off or they decided it was too much of a liability. This country's litigiousness is killing fun. But I digress...it was still a good time. And the workers seemed like they were having fun which was good to see and made the experience more enjoyable. We did get rear-ended during our first go-around which stopped the experience for a bit. The staff handled it well though, we did not suffer any damage and they let us go again for free which was very generous. I do have a suggestion to leave more room between cars for both haunted and non-haunted service to avoid scarier outcomes. read more

I bought the top wash, my car stayed wet after the dryer cycle and it didn't fully wash the car. When I dried the car I had to scrub to fully clean. It. They don't have windex or glass cleaners. They said they would give me a car freshener, I didn't get it. I looked around to ask someone for it but could t find anyone. I believe they only have 3 people onsite. read more

Be aware of the so called two months promotions, if unbeknownst to you, they have a card on file for you from a previous single visit, they will use that card to charge you monthly and accuse you of lying, making things up and it is all on you, because "you did it thru the app", even if you never signed up thru their app or any other way. I visited in Jan and without my permission kept the card on file. When I fell for the pay one month get one month free scam, my debit card was used as if I had willingly joined their club. On 7th Feb, I paid with a Mastercard, my Visa debit card was charged on 7th Apr because they claimed "I joined the club". The manager was very rude on the phone and told me "good luck getting your money back and I do not care about whatever you put on Google, we have great ratings, one bad rating will not matter". I mentioned that I had contacted my bank to have the charges reversed and his response was "and why the h*ll are you calling then for"? read more

Tommy's has all the elements to be great, fast wash that takes off lots of dirt, but isn't too hard on the paint like some competitors. They have lots of vacuums and good car interior cleaning kits for 3$ and "tree" air fresheners for 99 cents. I have had customer service usually @8/10 stars. Great young employees. Decided to try this business due to convenience and literally across the street from where I've moved in. Unfortunately, not something I would return too, brushes dont clean your car very well, still leaves your car filthy, vacuums have no air pressure, as well as the air pumps. Taking the wrong approach and making the consumer take the hit.... In this economy businesses have a hard choice to make. Do I raise my prices and let the consumer take the hit or do I take a look at my business model and adapt to the conditions.... This business took the approach to rasing prices and I am sad to say that after being a member since 2017 I am now cancelling my membership. One observation that I will write about is that if the owner wants to adjust their model to keep income whole, then look at reducing your headcount. Everytime I use the service there is multiple employees just huddled inside the kisok just on their phones or chatting away with each other. Maybe they are aware of the productivity of their staff and is OK with paying 1 or 2 unnecessary employees each shift, however I will not continue to spend my money at an establishment that will make the consumer take the hit. This place does OK car washing like any other ones nothing really much different besides a more modern architectural building design. They have a stand where it says there's free towels however there is never any of them and they charge you five dollars for a towel and refresh kits which is absolutely ridiculous since they charge more premium per car wash then other car washes down the street. Diamond shine down the street charges $10 per basic car wash and provides towels and Windex and air fresheners so they should consider their business model. read more

I was very disappointed in the brand new location on Huebner rd. Just move from Austin and they can't compete with my Surf Threw Car Wash. The location is in a bad spot. You can only accesses from one side of the street. You have to turn around at the light to get to it. The carwash doesn't get the back of the car and the wheels. The tire shine sucks. It doesn't even shine them. They just look like you hand clean them. The dry is not very good. I felt like I had to do more drying myself than they actual dryer did. The head of the vacuum kept coming off. The staff is nice. But overall the wash is not wort 40.00$ a month. I got a better wash for 30$ a month. I will be searching for the best wash in town. Do not get the car wash app if they tell you that you get a free month. They will take money from your bank account even if you didn't sign up for the membership. Worst most deceiving customer service I've ever experience IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. I am not sure if this was intentionally a scam, but either way it is something that is wrong with their system or human error on their part. Trying to blame your customer for something I never signed up for, and not being able to fix it is embarrassing. I recently visited Tommy's Express for a car wash, and it was a great experience! From the moment I arrived, the staff was friendly and helpful. The facility itself was clean and very efficient! The employee at the window explained the different membership options and even offered a free month of unlimited car washes through their app! They are also hosting a haunted car wash at the end of October and I'm super excited to come back! Overall, I definitely recommend Tommy's Express for an exceptional car wash experience. I came to Tommy's today asking what the coupon was in my account. Their app is very confusing. The cashier failed to tell me it was a used coupon code and charged me for a single $19 wash without telling me it was used. If I had known that I would have purchased a month wash. Instead when I asked why he did that the "manager" gave me a voucher for 1 single was for the confusion. I asked for them to go ahead and charge me for a month then and not a single wash. He said he could not do that and all he could do was give me a "free" Wash. there has to be a way to go ahead and either refund and recharge me fix the account to a month wash since I pretty much paid a month price for one wash. Most reliable car wash. They actively maintain the facility. All areas are cleaned throughout the day. They don't skimp on their car wash equipment to include the detergents, soaps and waxes. The spin brushes never look filthy and the water jets apply adequate pressure at each cleaning stage. The vacuums are cleaned often and always performed well. I'm not impressed! I went to the new location at 7888 Fredericksburg Rd here in San Antonio, and the first thing I noticed was that they don't have covers over the vacuum/drying area. I couldn't wait for this location to open because it's right down the street from where I work in the medical center area. I had been going to another car wash down the street on Fredericksburg that just opened up a few months back. Today I went to Tommy's to give it a shot and paid for the #1 works wash expecting to leave there with a freshly clean and shiny truck, well when I pulled up to the vacuuming/drying area, I noticed the tires didn't show any sign of the "tire gloss" the works offers. In the description, there's also mention of a "rainbow coat" I didn't see any "rainbow coat" as I went through. Being that this was my first time using a Tommy's Express I didn't know they didn't offer free drying towels, you have to purchase a "drying kit", had I known that I would've taken my own drying towel. When it was all said and done there was still some dirt/grime on the lower half of my truck that I was able to get off with the drying towel I purchased. Not much of a shine which I expected since the ceramic body wax is part of the works option. Now that I've experienced both car washes I'll continue driving slightly out of my way to wash my truck without being worried of not having a drying towel or finding dirt on the lower portion of my truck. DO NOT GO HERE. I REPEAT.....DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS. It seems like a reliable place to go until one of the young workers guiding your vehicle onto the conveyer belt system puts you to close to the vehicle in front of you because there are a lot of customers in line and they have to service them quickly. What I was told was that I hit the bumper of the car in front of me after I stopped and put my car in neutral like I was instructed to do. I didn't feel anything. And even if I did does that make it my fault? The owner took absolutely no responsibility for the way his car wash works and the people working for him. I have never seen someone avoid responsibility as quickly as this owner did. After taking pictures of the alleged damaged to the car in front of me it had paint on his bumper that was a color that was not even my paint color or a color anywhere on my car. And my car was not even going a registerable speed because it was in neutral and being fed by the conveyer belt system. The carwash kept stopping, we were stuck there in line for over a half hour, maybe longer, and no one came to say anything. They only helped the membership people but the regular paying customers meant nothing. After "washing" my car, it was covered in some waxy substance, can't even see through the windows, the car came out dirtier then when it went in. This place is pretty cool. If you download the app and register your vehicle it has license plate readers that just scan and open the gates and you configure what kind of wash you want from the app. The rates are super reasonable. You get a discount with membership. After getting the top tier wash, my car was disappointingly still dirty in several in-the-open areas. And it's not like it was some kind of hard to remove dirt or debris. It was white chalky dust from driving thru construction zones (since most of San Antonio's major highways are under construction). Beyond that, it would be nice to have a loyalty program. I guess you could argue the discounts on the monthly are a version of that but places like Bee Clean give you both the monthly and loyalty credits per wash.
