We were working in the area and figured we would grab some pizza and a grinder. We had a pepperoni pizza and it was all greasy and soggy. We ordered a Cold Italian combo, they had toasted it and it had a few pieces of meat on it. I am from the area and this is not what a grinder is. Stopped by yesterday for a quick bite to eat before heading across the street to Montana Axe Throwing in Newington. A rainy didn't stop me as I decided to order the 10 inch Hot Meatball and Sausage Grinder from the menu. On a time crunch asked how long it would take, so I can enjoy my meal rather than devouring it like a black hole. Sadly wasn't able to enjoy it as what was I thought a sit down meal was a race against the clock to finish. Served on a paper plate, the grinder was fresh and warm with the bread not being too soft and not too tasted offering a warm bite filled with meatball, sausage, peppers, marinara sauce and cheese on top all melted and delicious. Didn't think it was 10 inches but it was stomach filling for sure. I haven't had many grinders in my times lately but craving this over a slice of pizza was good for me. The meatballs weren't that compressed and broke easily but that's ok for me as I enjoy a grinder that I'm not fighting against. The sausages were a little small and I wished they had a little more flavor. Regardless walked out happy and full and ready to throw axes across the street. read more

I am not sure if the resturant changed owners but I was highly disappointed. the Chicken parm was two Tyson style chicken breast with a tasteless sauce and cheese no pasta. Stopped in here for quick bite for lunch. It's okay, nothing special. Slices were displayed on a tray under a glassed in counter. They were warmed up and placed on a plate for me. It's really not the best pizza I've ever had, but certainly not the worst. While it was an adequate lunch as I was in the area, I would absolutely not drive out of my way to eat here. Tried it one more time for my birthday.... Ordered a sheet pizza and a large @ $43.00 I was charged $4.00 for extra cheese and could see the dough & sauce through the cheese!!! There was a "dusting" of sausage and spinach on the pie as well....so basically $43.00 for sauce and dough all done with u guys!!!! Have fun screwing people to get rich quick read more

Not the best pizza around but also not the worst. I will order a pie from them sometimes if I am too lazy to cook, or wanna change my pizza from time to time. Never had the pizza by the slice so don't know how fresh it will be. I have tried their hot subs and salads and they are ok too. They do deliver which is nice on a rainy or cold snowy day. read more

Not the best pizza, but certainly not bad either. They have good coupons and I used to live a mile away so it was good enough to eat for the convenience (some places, no matter how close they are, I'd NEVER eat there, I'll drive a few extra miles). The crust is a bit chewy, which I'm not saying is a bad thing, just depends what you like. Chewy enough that it helps with portion control because no matter how hungry you are, your jaw likely can't chew through a whole pizza there. read more

Solid NY-style pizza place, about on par with Stretch's. They have a good variety of specialty pizzas and they go heavy on the garlic which I like. The fourth star is really just because of how nice the staff is to my in-laws, especially my Korean grandmother-in-law who doesn't speak English and who loves their pizza. Apparently I will only ever have the pizza with sun-dried tomatoes, breaded eggplant, and garlic with my family, and it is an okay pizza. I just hope none of my in-laws are keen on Yelp, because they tout this as the best pizza in the world. We ordered from Bella this evening because our beloved Tony's was closed. We ordered a meatball parmesan and a chicken parmesan grinders. The bread was very good - soft and fresh. I could have had less bread but that didn't ruin the experience. The chicken was cut into strips and breaded versus a whole patty . It was seasoned nicely although a little bland. The meatball grinder was not good. The meatballs tasted as though they had been boiled without seasoning. The sauce was a nice sweetness and the cheese stringy. Overall it was a decent substitution for Tony's but we would not order the meatball again. We have ordered pizza from Bella in the past and have been satisfied. read more

I used to work near this place and grabbing a slice or two of their bacon and onion pizza was one of those chain reaction lunch breaks, as soon as one person got it and the smell got into the office the whole staff went! The bacon was nice and crisp and the onions sliced very thin (which helps more than one might think). I've had some of their other types and they were fine but nothing to write home about (unless you write boring letters, if you do then have at it!) If you get a chance grab a slice from this place, it's good and cheap. In fact, ya' know how they say you should never go grocery shopping hungry? Found Bella after trying to replace my beloved Carmine's Pizza in Elmwood. Very good pizza at an affordable price. New York style influenced, a little thicker than true NY. The cheese pizza has Grande Cheese, which is a huge difference maker over the rank and file pizzas. Try the Ortolana, a pizza with eggplant, very good. The buffalo wings are hit or miss, but usually pretty good. Their calzones are nice and well stuffed with all the right stuff. Their meatballs are pretty decent too. I gave it a 4, but it really deserves a 4.5 in my book. Orders are ready for pickup in 20-30 minutes, so that is reasonable too.
