New York pizza still better, However, with Racist behavior, never ordering or recommending and you shouldn't either. Simply couldn't hear the cashier with their store items crashing all over and she waved the pizza spatula in my face and was beyond rude. I have zero tolerance for racism and anything looks like it. No apology for her disgusting attitude, just hurry up and buy. I'm was coming from work I'm not a menace to society. On top of all this, they charged my card for 15.50 when the lunch meal was 12.40. They adjusted this days later. But bc I'm black and stood my ground I was met with lies and unfairness. I got a cheese and a special... the sauce was good and had the perfect amount - not dry and not dripping all over... cheese was good and the special had a generous amount of toppings... this is my go to for a quick pizza... read more

My family has been a longggg time fan of Freddy's. I haven't been here in a long time and my husband had never been. We ordered a large Buffalo chicken pizza. Very, very good! We are picky with pizza. NICE spice kick to it (but not overwhelming). The ratios were perfect (sauce to cheese plus toppings). Lots of flavor! Would definitely order again. read more

Order a grinder(was kind of on the small side but it was good) and also ordered a calzone. It was good (still prefer west side pizza or Pete's) thing that got me was a regular calzone is 10.25 one topping it's $11. I asked for provolone added to the calzone and they charged me An extra $1.50 (so some cheese cost almost double what it would of cost me if I asked say for a meat topping or meatballs would have only cost me .75) no biggie the thing that got me and don't think I'll be back. 4 star overall rating is very strong for this place. I ordered a large bacon pizza, it could of been cooked a little longer but not bad. The big issue i had was with the sauce. It tasted like Walmart great value brand pizza sauce. If I had to I would go back, but it wouldn't be my 1st choice. read more

My wife and I departed VCA Cromwell Vet and spotted this small restaurant almost immediately across the street. In need of a quick bite, we were hoping for a slice of pizza to hold us over until dinner. There were a few people in front of me, but I could see a few pizzas sitting on a counter and realized these were neither Neapolitan nor Sicilian pizzas, but Greek pizza. Fuhgeddaboutit! I ordered 1/2 a cold cut grinder and asked for it to be heated. I was told the ovens were filled with a few large orders so it would take approximately 15 to 20 minutes. Fuhgeddaboutit! I opted for cold. As I watched the grinder being assembled, I noticed the meat was of inferior (cheap) quality though the iceberg lettuce was fresh. The overall taste was okay, but would I return? I've known Freddy since we were in High School. Freddy used to work for the original ABC pizza in Cromwell. The original owners were Greek and the best pizza and grinders around. ABC pizza closed and Freddy took there recipe to start his own restaurant. Freddy still uses the same Greek recipe and is consistent through out the years with fresh ingredients, and fresh baked bread! I've been going to Freddys ever since. It's been over 20 years and it's still my favorite. I have not found a better grinder place as of yet and I travel CT, MA, RI, and NY. I found about two places that were close but not Freddys. I no longer reside in Cromwell, but I have no problem traveling miles just to get a grinder from my old buddy. Try Freddys and you'll be hooked for life! The grinders and pizza are perfect! Chicken wings are fantastic! Hands down best place! I could go for a grinder right now! Lol read more

They are too money hungry. Everything is an up charge. They charge to use credit card. If you get a grinder and ask for peppers 1.50 more on their already super high prices. Sauce was better years ago. Everything you order they say 20-30 minutes (even if antipasto salad!) read more

I used to go to Freddy's all the time. Today we ordered a small pizza half Hawaiian half cheese and a small garden salad. I asked for light cheese on the Hawaiian half. It cost us nearly $22.00 for a small salad and pizza. The pizza had such little sauce and cheese on both halves it was pretty much like eating bread. I am extremely dissatisfied and disappointed. The price increase they implemented in March appears to have been accompanied by skimping on ingredients. Sadly, we will no longer be going here. read more

Freddy's Pizza and Grinders is just plain...awesome! There is limited counter space and a few tables making it the perfect take out place. I have never once been disappointed in the food or the service; it is always the highest of quality and Freddy makes sure that he employs the highest caliber as far as work ethic is concerned. There was one night when I stopped in to get a calzone, and started inquiring about the wings. I am not the biggest fan of wings that are breaded, so I wanted to know how they are cooked. One of the workers who was cleaning up heard my conversation and offered me a "sample." Even though it was prepared the way that I don't normally care for, it ended up having the perfect amount of zest, crisp and was not overcooked or dried out. I would recommend this place to anyone in the Rocky Hill/Cromwell area who is looking for a take out place that is top of the line! read more

We love this place. We couldn't find pizza we really liked in Middletown but then we moved near Freddy's and the pizza is great even reheated. The veggies are super fresh and the pepperoni very high quality. We also love their grinders and salad - they kick Subway's butt and give Neon Deli a run for their money. We're so happy they're nearby and open every day. read more

Terrible. Cheap low quality chicken. The chicken breading is soggy. The sauce is garbage. And you can't even see the pizza choices since there's no display. Gotta lean over the counter and look in the kitchen to see. Friendly staff if that's a bonus for you. read more

Worst chicken cutlet grinder ever. Chicken was breaded and pre sliced as I could tell because it was dried out. And there was barely any chicken on it. Maybe a half a cutlet total on an 8 inch sandwich. I won't eat there again. read more

The birthplace for me to the buffalo chicken pizza. There are certain places that know how to make it to perfection and this is the place. Any pizza you get here will be one the best you ever ate. I work at the travelers championship and i've loved this place since the GHO was around. To sum this up. Save the 10 you were gonna spend on a burger somewhere and get your self two specialty slices, a drink, and a huge bag of chips for the same price! read more
