I've driven past this place so many times and finally decided to bring the family--and I'm so glad we did! Hands down, this was some of the best sushi and ramen I've ever had. The food came out quickly, and the ramen arrived piping hot with delicious, flavorful toppings. The sushi was incredibly fresh and absolutely amazing. On top of the outstanding food, the service was exceptional. Our server was incredibly attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. The owner even came over to our table and surprised us with complimentary sushi samples. To top it all off, they treated us to ice cream on the house at the end of our meal. Even the ice cream was rich, creamy, and delicious! This was an amazing dining experience from start to finish. Everything is good at Tomo Sushi especially their fresh fish and king scallops very tasty. Nice clean environment and good decoration too. Plenty of free parking and no waiting in line to get a table here. However they have loud annoying music playing in the background and I am here trying to have a decent dinner after a long day. If this establishment was a trendy bakery or coffee shop or young teenagers hangout then it would really make sense to play music this loud and everyone loves good Korean pop music too if it were the right venue. However I don't think Tomo Sushi is the right place for a good sushi restaurant in Laguna woods. No oysters today they ran out for dinner time at 4:30 pm on Sunday night Father's Day. Life is too funny to be upset about anything really. Just take it easy and have your food Togo is most likely the best thing. We didn't know what to expect since we usually won't try a sushi place without a recommendation. Hubby and I dropped off our pup for a couple of hours of play time at SmartParke and then headed out for a short date night. Pondering what to have for dinner I mentioned the sushi spot next to Reborn coffee (one of our faves). There was one other couple in there as we walked in and took a seat. Tomo was clean, and the staff super friendly. We ordered and our food came out quickly. Sashimi was brought out in large bowls that had ice in them, such an amazing presentation. The fish was fresh and so yummy! You don't often get fresh, raw wasabi with your sashimi-but here you do(at least with the halibut), my rolls were so good. This place continues to impress me by the incredible food, friendly service, and neighborhood vibes. It's not a large space but they try to accommodate groups as best as possible. Sesame chicken was really good, phenomenal .but the tonkunsu ramen genuinely tastes like the essence of a dirty bathroom floor. i could not even get a sip in, before being utterly repulsed and disgusted. under no circumstance should you ever try the ramen at this establishment. I've been here twice. The first time I tried their ramen which was good but not the best I've had. It definitely can be better. The second time I went with two friends from work. We all decided to get the bento box which is a lunch special. I honestly felt it was much better than the ramen and I liked that you could pick and choose your two main entries. It didn't bowl me over, but coming from a guy who just ate sushi in the high desert of Arizona, this was leaps and bounds better than you might find in a lot spots where there's no ocean nearby. We overdid it on orders, with some specialty rolls and of course I always have to get some yellowfin or something simple in a hand roll. They were pretty quick and it turned into a lovely date night. Ambiance is also fine, I don't think you're rolling in the suburbs of the OC looking for the hottest sushi spot in town but l like a restaurant that knows who they are and they were exactly that. Our favorite neighborhood restaurant never disappoints! We've been coming here basically every week or two for 3 years since we've discovered Tomo Sushi and their dishes always hit the spot. We come at least once a week! All the staff including the owner are so incredibly friendly and sweet, fast and great service every time. Uni sushi: this was actually very high-quality and I feel it was the best of the sushi dishes delivered. 5/5 Tomo Roll: decent roll, large size, couldn't get my parents to try it but I enjoyed it thoroughly and feel it is a good bargain for the price given the relatively high-quality. 5/5 Scallop roll: my favorite of the rolls, the scallops were delicately flavored and seemed like the fish that paired the best with the flavors of this particular sushi restaurants rice, seaweed and sauce. 5/5 Conch: this was... not my favorite. I would not recommend getting from this restaurant, although I will admit it is my first time trying conch sushi, every other time I have eaten it it has been cooked and I have very much enjoyed this sea creature. However this was inedible even after one bite I could not swallow it. 1/5 California roll: as expected, like most California rolls it was not that tasty, but I ordered it because my parents refuse to eat anything that's uncooked. 4/5 Tuna roll: The tuna was the worst of the raw rolls. The salmon was really tasty in the other rolls, but the tuna seemed to lack that delicate je ne sais quoi flavor. 3/5 Golden spicy tuna roll: I ate one of these and it was reasonably good. My parents loved it but as I said, they are not connoisseurs. However you won't go wrong here. 4/5 Baked salmon roll: this was the best of the cooked items. Highly recommend, it was melted your mouth good. 5/5 Gyoza: mix of pork and cabbage. I did not try but I got good reviews from the non-raw fish eaters. 5/5 Eggrolls: these were kind of like the California rolls exactly what you would expect, but nothing transcendent. 4/5 I really wanted to show my family some sushi while they were in town, but after splitting a bottle of wine it was tough to get out of the house, so we decided to order in. However on DoorDash this was so expensive to place this order, that I eventually convinced my godmother to drive me to the restaurant for pick up, which ended up saving me $100. Pick up was fast, easy and ready right on time. I would highly recommend picking up if you can and avoiding the ridiculous up charge in fees of the delivery services. read more

This is top-notch sushi, everything melts in your mouth. I don't mess with soy sauce or anything, each role has its own magic with its own flavor or dipping sauce. Truly I don't get how people drown their stuff in soy sauce. I also love that the choices are endless, from no rice rolls to soy paper. Have also tried their Ramen and udon, simply delicious. I ordered a bento box containing of teriyaki salmon with a crunch roll, When I opened the bag the container contained of two little pieces of salmon. Two nuggets of salmon. It's the worst when you're eating sushi and think hmm this doesn't taste the greatest and then a little while later you have an upset stomach! That's what happened to me ordering Tomo Sushi from Uber Eats. I got priority delivery right to me so I know it wasn't like the driver had it in his car a while it was just no bueno sushi which made my stomach no bueno the rest of the day. A warning should have been that they could deliver to me in 30-40min while all my usual places were like 70min since it was peak lunch time. We went in here not really expecting much besides just a place for us to grab a snack before checking into the Ayres. Ordered ramen and when i took the first bite/sip/slurp, I was shocked how different the taste of the ramen was compared to other ramens I've had. This place is a small restaurant. Nothing extravagant. But the soup had a strong Smokey/charcoal flavor from the pork belly. And I loved how the pork belly was cooked til it was charred a bit.
