About a month ago I needed to get my mother's piano brought over from her house to mine. I contacted several piano movers and opted for Tom's based on availability. The fact that they were less expensive than the other company didn't hurt either. :-). Michelle in the office was great to deal with. Clark & his crew contacted my mother before arriving so she knew they were on their way, and they contacted me with their ETA as the got closer to my house. They positioned the piano where I wanted it, making sure my little furniture floor protector pads were in place before lowering the piano, and were able to move it a few inches over when I decided it needed to be moved just a little bit. The scheduling process is lengthy and time consuming. They need a streamline process so it doesn't involve multiple calls and texts. As somebody who runs a small business myself my time is valuable and every extra 15 minutes I have to spend answering additional questions is inefficient. There was also a lot of wasted time with Michelle talking about how busy they are and how many pianos they move in a day. It's really unnecessary information that takes up my time that I don't need to know to set up my appointment. She was very aggressive on the phone. I got accused of trying to steal my neighbors piano indirectly by her bringing up another story about somebody else who was involved in this type of scenario. I don't know why I would need to steal a Piano when I can afford to live in a million dollar house in Castro valley? ‍ The phone call ended with me just needing to hang up the phone as she kept wanting to argue with me. I didn't even know they were on Yelp until she brought it up. I will be using Quality Piano Movers instead. Customer service is number 1 guys and it begins with that first interaction. You could use a complete retraining of your customer service skills and your scheduling process. read more

I was purchasing a piano in Lafayette that need to be moved to Concord and then my old piano had to be moved to another place in Concord. I needed to move my Steinway Grand Model B from my place to Concord California. Called this company, Michelle the office coordinator set the appointment up right away. Twenty minutes before appointment time, Clark called from his truck. He arrived with his two assistants; everybody was polite and professional. They assessed the location and position of the piano; wrapped it with thick blanket followed by taking the legs off. Ready to put it on the carrier, gently rolled it out of the house, special care when going over carpet and hardwood, then down to the porch, driveway and into their truck. I hired Tom's Piano Moving to move an upright piano that I purchased from Craigslist. They were available to move my piano (which had to be moved on the weekend) within 8 days of when I called. They also were able to accomodate the seller's request to have the pickup occur before noon on Saturday. They provided a 2 hour window for the pickup and a separate 2 hour window for the delivery, which I was present for. They arrived inside the first hour, and had the piano unloaded and in place very quickly. The piano arrived in excellent condition, and the delivery men were very polite and attentive to their work. Finally, the cost of the piano move was on the low side of the estimates I received. I called 5 minutes after they closed but still got a return call from Michelle within minutes. It was Saturday and we had scheduled new carpet to be installed on Monday. We had to get a huge player piano moved out of the living room of our house.
