We've been coming here for many years and will continue for many more to come. Far and away the best sushi in Utah, hands down. Possibly the best I've had anywhere, though I've never been to Japan. Name a dish, any dish! Salt and pepper seafood? Awesome! Green globe? Get three! Poke roll? It's my new favorite! I could go on forever. Seriously, if you haven't been, stop messing up your life! Wow! I was so against getting sushi away from the ocean. Since we're from the west coast, we are very spoiled with our sushi selection and are VERY picky when it comes to our sushi! The service was amazing! The food was FRESH and TASTY! The little restaurant and bar are clean and trendy. I would definitely recommend to those hesitant to try because my husband and I were not disappointed! It is pricy for the area, but comparable to what we're used to in So Cal. While I have never been to this restaurant, I would never go there because of the encounter I had on the phone with the owner. He was rude, condescending, and just plain mean! You can't make good food when you are so full of bitterness and hate that you treat a complete stranger so badly. read more

We were desperate for lunch at 1:30pm on a Saturday. The restaurant is conveniently located with lots of parking. We were immediately greeted and seated. We ordered two rolls and a bento box for our girls to split. My husband and I ended up trying the girls chicken, rice, salad + miso soup. Honestly it was all the best I've ever had! The chicken was perfectly marinated and delicious! The white rice is fluffy and semi-sticky, which I really like. The salad dressing was superb! The miso soup was perfection! Their rolls are fresh. They have traditional and some fun mixtures. Our waitress was very attentive and accommodating. They have a side room to have a traditional Japanese experience where you remove your shoes and eat on low tables while sitting on cushions. They have a great beer selection. Next time I'll have to save room for dessert read more

This place has really fallen off. It's disappointing really. It seems they are relying on their past and not listening to their customers and in some cases taking advantage of them. The quality of the fish has dropped, prices have increased and the managers/service has gone totally down the pipe. At my last visit here, I talked to a manager about the issues encountered that evening (slow service, upselling, poor quality fish) and was told to talk to the owners. That's not how customer service works. I just won't come back. With the other 2-3 sushi restaurants in Ogden, I would take my money elsewhere. read more

Hands down best sushi I've had since I've moved to Utah! They have creative combinations and fresh fish. The price is reasonable. I did however find a fish bone in one of my rolls but they acted quickly in taking it off the tab with no hesitation even though I ate the whole thing and one of the last pieces had the bone. Very attentive staff and the aesthetics are pleasing to the eye. Highly recommend. Our favorite roll had a sweet chili sauce on it. read more

This place has THE best sushi I've eaten in all of Utah and actually the best I've ever had!! I was very impressed by the freshness and quality of their fish and rolls. Our party of 4 had a hard time calling it quits but after trying about 10 or so different rolls and spoons and sashimi... well I think I was about full so figured it was time to stop until next tine. We will definitely return but on a week night so we can make reservations.. the wait at 5 when the doors opened was already over an hour so we sat at the bar with a 15 minute wait. read more

I was visiting Ogden on business, and my coworker and I decided to give Tona a try. WOW! We both loved it! It was so good, we returned the next night for another great meal. I should probably note I am not a huge fan of sushi rolls. I prefer sashimi and nigiri. The fish here was very fresh and everything was delicious. I tried the following items on my visits: - Garlic Edamame - Charred Brussel Sprouts - Oyster Shooter, West Coast - Nigiri Sushi Sampler - Ahi and Apple Sashimi And the most amazing thing I tried was the special Beef Nigiri. "Sushi-grade beef" cooked quickly (I think with a torch) and served on rice. I had this on both visits, and I am still thinking about it. This sushi is so good, you don't even need soy sauce. Everything is prepared and seasoned perfectly. When I get the opportunity to return to Ogden, I will definitely visit here. Highly recommended! read more

Great Sushi Place in Ogden. Great Service from Natalie and the team. We (3 people) were waiting for almost 1 hour due to the people kept talking and talking after they paid their bill. Finally, when we got seated, they bring us complimentary Gyoza within minutes. Wow. After that, we start ordering different appetizer and sushi rolls from the menu. The price is little bit pricey but the freshness and the taste compliment them. Some of the sushi are okay, especially for Californian where we have extravagant of all kind of Sushi. For city of Ogden, this place is extra ordinary. You can tell from the people that line up during rush hour. The place is small, separate into 3 areas - Tatami, Dinner Tables and Sushi Chef side. We love Japanese Food and our kids are pretty picky when it comes to food. Every plate was empty and everyone said that it was the best Japanese food that we have had in a really long time! I used to eat here fairly regularly and remember the quality of the food always being great. More recently, however, I've been noticing that the portion sizes are really small while their prices are on the higher end. We ordered the vegetable tempura and were really disappointed when it came out on a teeny little plate. It was only five pieces, with three of them being very small items, such as a single green bean. The portion size of the calamari and the three rolls we ordered were also far smaller than we had expected. This place does have very good food, but if you eat here you will either end up spending way more than you expect to, or leave hungry. read more

My love for Tona food runs deep and I always, always come here when I'm in town. No matter how good the food is; I cannot in good conscience give anything more than this 2 star review. I was so painfully disappointment in the manager, Shauntelle. We asked the speak with a manager regarding an item we received and she refused to come to our table to discuss, rather she kept sending our server back and forth the relay messages. What kind of manager does that? What kind of customer service is that? You honestly have no business being a manager if you cannot find the time to speak with a customer regarding product or service. Grayson and Cindy were my servers on two different occasions and they were both super helpful and friendly... sad management has dropped the ball this time around. I will try again next time I'm in town and hope for a different experience. I will adjust my reviews accordingly read more
