Traveling through on our way to St. George Utah from Oregon. We stayed in town and then went to the Brewery. The beer and the mango cider were good. The brisket was terrible, tough as a boot! We couldn't eat it. The baked beans were great. The green beans were not good, full of strings. My husband ordered the baby back ribs. They were not baby back! My husband is a meat cutter and he told them they were not. The girl brought out the box label, it did not say they were baby back ribs. It said they were pork loin back ribs. Because the brisket was so tough they substituted their turkey for it as I requested, excellent. Melt in your mouth. read more

I give this 5 stars for Tonopah, but 3 if it were in a more populous place. Thus 4 overall. The food was very good, the service was efficient and friendly (forced friendly perhaps). The dining space is excellent. Some big tables, a nice bar and several 4 tops and booths. TV to watch a game. No kids menu, but they did have a hot dog and fries for our youngest. The beer was pretty good, but not great. Admittedly, we're pretty spoiled (beer snobs perhaps) with excellent beer all around where we live, so take that with a grain of salt. I'm sure we will make a point of stopping here every time we roll through. read more

Yelp does it again! We would not have known about this place without its Yelp presence. I usually do a search on Google Maps for motels and restaurants as we travel cross country, and Tonopah Brewing did not show up, even when I typed in Tonopah Brewing. I've added it to Google Maps because everyone passing through needs to stop here and enjoy lunch or dinner and keep this gem going for years to come. We generally stay in Tonopah when heading cross country and have been less than excited about the dining choices. The brewing company not only has a good selection of beers that fit our palate, but barbecue that's on par with what we enjoy in the Carolinas. read more

Great stop over between Las Vegas and Reno. Who thought we would find graft beer in the middle of the desert. Well here it is home made beer. Wonderful food and perfect craft beer. Along with a wonderful bartender who always had time to talk and make good suggestions. We will be traveling this road again and we will always make this our stop. read more

This is our second stop on our way to Pahrump (outside of Vegas). We may just become regulars! Well, as regular as we can be..... They now have a bourbon barrel sour-mash stout aged 9 months and it rivals any I've tasted. Very good. Their Pilsner is right on the money too. Where are we again? The middle of nowhere (sorry Tonopahnians).... This place is good. We had burnt ends due to several reviews and a full rack of ribs to share for 3 people. Okay, we aren't big eaters but oh man; very delicious along with 4 types of sauce. The place has character (I'm not talking about the people either), a long dining table made of two pieces of wood. Maybe (2) 18 inches wide by 20 feet. ---2-2" full dimension X 18" pine? (I'm guessing after beer...). With cool benches made of variegated wood. Walnut? Dark wood with light sap wood anyway. Excellent stop along 95. The staff was friendly and I enjoyed the place to myself. Beer selection was good with an excellent house red ale that quenched the thirst. Ribs were excellent and served without BBQ, this is a true sign of great, smokey flavor. read more

Stayed at the Best Western on the way back from Scottsdale and got 10% off, so why not try it. We shared the sampler platter. Chopped pork, excellent. Smoked turkey, very good. Brisket, not good. Ribs, terrible. Ribs were extremely dry, to the point you couldn't even bite them and way too much smoke flavor. The corn muffin was cold and hard. Why not cut in half, butter and throw on the griddle for a minute? Baked beans were very good. Green beans were not very flavorful, a bit bland. The Pilsner was good. Stink eye porter was quite tasty however I was given the stink eye cuz the lady waiting on us mixed up my samples and so I ordered the wrong beer. She literally gave me the nastiest look and didn't speak a word to us for awhile. I even apologized even though it wasn't my fault. We ordered the fried pickle slices with our beer and those were the bomb if you like deep fried pickles. Don't think we will be back however. We tried the appetizer sampler and family meal. Loved the tried and true fried classic cheese curds, okra, pickles, onion rings and jalapeño slices. The family meal is OUTRAGEOUSLY huge and delicious. Actually feeds 6-8 with no problem. The four BBQ sauces were tasty and satisfying for lightweights to spice enthusiasts. Ribs were smoky and tender, turkey wonderfully moist, pulled pork also moist and juicy. Brisket was nicely cooked and not overly fatty. Fresh coleslaw, hearty baked beans and flavorful muffins rounded out the meal and held their own against the meats. Service was attentive and very friendly. The two beers (IPA and Pale Ale) where both good. The food was pretty good, better then a lot of other BBQ places I've been to. I had the ribs and brisket. The ribs where cooked almost perfectly as far as tenderness goes, but you could tell they'd been steamed because the rub on the outside was almost mushy, a few minutes over a grill would have done wonders with them. The brisket tasted like roast beef with just a little bit of smoke flavor, but it was pretty tender and moist. With both meats, a little more time in the smoker would help things out. Neither where covered in sauce, which I definitely appreciated, but they did have them on the side to add for your self. Remembering that you're in Tonopah, this place is actually pretty good. When in town I'll be back, and hopefully they keep on making their bbq better read more

Probably the best eats in 150 mile radius! The fried pickles rocked.....not greasy at all. BBQ Sundae....had to order just to see/taste it. Turned out to be one of the favorites of the table. Awesome little brew pub! Rich is a great guy and showed us his brewing/bottling setup as well as talked to us for a bit about brewing and what not. Food was really good and the BBQ sauce variety was great! Also fried pickles were delicious but the onion rings are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G! We tried the Tonapah sampler platter thing that came will all different types of meat and all were great, the ribs were my favorite! Definitely a place worth your time to stop and hang out for a minute and get a great beer and some grub! I tried the Peach Cobbler Wheat Bear, GREAT! My only complaint was the service was a little spotty but they had one services and it was busy, she seemed fairly new but it's all good, nothing to ruin the fun and atmosphere! read more

Pulled in for a snack and a cold one and fell in love with this place. Started off with the sour beer which was a classic (if you are into sours) flavor that I loved. Ordered the shredded pork with Mac and cheese and cole slaw and a cornbread muffin for 14.99. The portion of meat was huge and the flavor and texture were on point. The slaw was perfect. A little sweet and saucy with a good crunch. Mac and cheese were quality. The real treat of the whole kit and kaboodle was the corn bread muffin with soft butter. Best I've ever had. Chewy and a little crispy and omfg good. Can't do it justice, just try one. Ordered two to go and another side of slaw to go since I devoured the first portion with the pork. A good pile of pork leftover too and I weigh 250 lbs. Do yourself a favor and try this place. Nice space inside or bench seating out front. read more

I always try and stop here whenever I pass through from Reno. The brisket is nice and tender. This time I stopped 5 min before closing for 2 lbs of brisket knowing I would eat a little and save the rest for the superbowl pot luck. I also used a half pound in my chili. Awesome. Thx guys! Meh... the red ale was drinkable, and it's difficult to mess up fríed pickles and jalapeños... but the Pick Axe sandwich was a tasteless dry slab of Turkey on a Safeway hoagie with B/L/T/A - - the slab so dry and hard that you couldn't close the sandwich despite it having been drowned in mayonnaise... 'flimsy fork and no knife provided to make it work. The green beans were cold and also tasteless... as if just scooped straight from the Serco can... and whole... again, no knife. The Mac & cheese continued the tasteless theme, and the Burnt Ends (sandwich); although tender, came on a bare bun with no sauce provided or offered.
