Definitely not my favorite umbertos but its still a rather decent spot. For whatever reason this location seems to burn their pies more often, however, when made properly the pizza does taste good. Location is small and service is lacking. Their massapequa park location is much better. read more

Here's an average pizza review: Summary: not a great experience again. But even bad pizza is still pretty ok. And they still have the market on pepperoni cups, which I'm a sucker for. Online ordering nuances still need to be worked out. tl;dr.... The Neapolitan with pep was ok, charred on a quarter of the crust. The grandma broccoli rabe and sausage was barely warm and dry. Maybe broccoli wasn't blanched as it was extra bitter and mushy dark green? The grilled shrimp on the Greek salad wasn't edible, over cooked. Pics attached. The hour and a half wait wouldn't be a problem if the people answering the phone gave you any comfort that they knew something about your order. Apparently if you order online they say "oh, I don't have any information about your order since you did it online, it's probably on its way over by now". After suggesting they check, I was on hold for a while. The delivery showed up while on hold, but I waited until someone picked up from hold and I let them know the delivery showed up and thanked them. The delivery driver was very nice and genuinely thanked me for the gratuity. As we're eating and contemplating ordering other food since this wasn't Umberto's best night, someone else called from the restaurant and told us our delivery is on the way. I said the food arrived and let them know about the dry/cold pizza, and burnt shrimp. She said 'oh sorry' with a confused tone, 'it's really busy'. I said, it's ok. I want to start off by saying that this has nothing to do with the food as everything I have ever eaten from Umberto's over the last 20 years has been fantastic. This does however speak to customer service or lack there of. My wife and I live in Mineola and placed a delivery order through seamless for apps, and entree and a few slices of pizza. We received the wrong order which consisted of 5 different pizza pies. When we called the restaurant, the young lady that answered the phone was not only rude, but she had no clue of what we were even speaking about. My wife clearly explained that we received the order for a person named Diana(my wife's name is Diane and the order was placed by her, for context) the girl kept saying "yes, Diana, your pizza is leaving shortly. Then she corrected herself by saying oh wait, you ordered the hero's. We said no, this is who we are, here is our order number and our order. She had no idea of what to do. So after 10 mins of going back and forth she said well we do t deliver to Mineola so you will have to call seamless and have their driver come pick this up. That is not how seamless works since the order was already marked as delivered.(We did reach out to seamless and explained what happened as well. They refunded the order.) But we also asked the girl to please speak with a manager so that we can maybe actually get our dinner delivered and resolved. She put us on hold where we waited for no less than 15 mins and no one ever picked up the phone again. That was when we contacted seamless. Then, after 90 mins, someone named Joe calls my wife to say "hi your food has been ready for 90 k mins, are you coming to get it?) we were flabbergasted, we told Joe what happened and he was absolutely clueless to the entire situation. He was very nice and apologetic but honestly, it didn't help at all at that point. So, we ended up ordering dinner from a different place all together. I just wanted to write this in hopes that maybe someone from Umbertos sees this and does something to improve. We will never go to any of their locations again though. So thank you for the good food for the last 20 years but for me, with the higher cost of everything these days, good customer service is paramount if you want my business. Umberto's has probably the most confusing lineage of any NY pizzeria. Definitely more confusing than Grimaldi's/Juliana's. Ok, maybe less confusing than all the Ray's, famous or otherwise. Here's all you need to know - if you want a location associated with the original Umberto's (home of the grandma slice), then you need a location that lists New Hyde Park in their name/awning (even if they're not located in NHP). We ordered dinner from this one for that reason. Got a grandma pie (duh), a plain slice for the kid, seafood pasta, and garlic knots. All very solid. The grandma pie was thin, crispy, and had great sauce. I had a bite of the regular slice and it was pretty good too. The seafood pasta was a gigantic portion (even for the smaller option), so you get your money's worth. Definitely worth trying as it's one of the better pizza options in this area of Long Island! read more

I love this place so much. I order takeout once or twice a month. Our order is usually a Sicilian pie or a variety of single slices. The Sicilian is one of the best things you'll ever eat- it's so good and the crust is crispy and delicious. They also have the best Buffalo chicken and grandma slices. The waitress misunderstood my order and I received the wrong dish, but Joe, the manager was sure to replace it with the correct order right away. It came quickly too. What a joke the managers are at this location, and more so, the girls who take the delivery orders are helpless.... time and time again we order from this place as the food is actually good. And time and time again, the order is incorrect. To make matters worst, the constantly advise the food will arrive in "45 to an hour". That's fine and even if it's over an hour sometimes due to the restaurant being busy, we'd understand. However, when you plan out your order time based on their provided timelines bc you have guests coming for dinner, and go out of your way to advise them, "please not less than 45 minutes and anytime after 5:30 is fine", the food should not be delivered in 30 minutes and arrive at 5:10 (half hour before your guests arrive). Now, I'm stuck with $80 worth of cold pizza and more to serve. When calling to discuss, they give blanket BS responses and take ZERO responsibility for their "service". read more

We have been ordering pretty regularly from Umberto's in Bellmore for years, usually for delivery. In 2023, most of those deliveries have taken at least 90 minutes, and tonight, we are waiting over 2 hours for 1 pizza, a chicken roll, and a side salad. I am done. The food was good here but if you say delivery should take an hour and it takes 2+, that's wrong. There are plenty of other options where it won't be such a hassle. read more

The village of Bellmore scored big when Umberto's moved into the space that for years was home to Tommy's Village Pizzeria. The entire building was gutted and expanded to create the new space for Umberto's which includes a nice size dining room and an outside patio area in the back. There are booths and stools in the front to grab a quick slice. If you have eaten at any of Umberto's other locations then you know how great their pizza and Italian dishes taste. The menu features both traditional as well as coal oven pizzas, both delicious! Grandma pizza and deep dish are both great. One of my favorite items is the chicken roll which is one of the best around. Meatball parm hero is very delicious. They have an excellent house salad you can get with freshly shaved mozzarella. I've eaten here a couple dozen times and I would not recommend the chicken wings, they are very small and were not crispy at all. Everything else I have had from pasta to rice balls was excellent!! We have been ordering takeout from here for years now. Unfortunately the quality has changed dramatically enough that i doubt i will be returning. What was once my favorite pizza place has now become my least favorite. We continually have either something missing, or something wrong with our pick up orders. Pizza burnt so bad it's inedible, order pepperoni they put sausage on. Order margarita pizza get a Grandma pie, forgetting to include salad, no sauce for rice balls....Most recently being we ordered 3 pies (one with meatball). We open the box and only one slice has meatball on it. I call and they acknowledge the error saying "girl" put it down as one slice with meatball?.. who does that?? But then he says bring it back and we will give you a new pie. I explaining have company and kids are hungry i cannot do that. He then proceeds to say okay i can deliver a new one and pick that one up! Seriously, I wasn't looking for free pizza, i wanted what I ordered. Not to mention the fact it concerns me as to why they would want it back, are they going to resell it by the slice or something? I I am sad to say that was the last straw for me.
