Always a great experience at Stella's! The food is really good, portions are plentiful and the prices are totally reasonable. I had friends coming over so picked up a family meal for $35- it came with 1 pizza, 1 baked pasta (chose Siciliana with eggplant) and garlic knots. When I went to pick up the meal, the restaurant was packed, which is always a good sign, a delicious variety of pizza was on display for the taking. It's a very casual place and has plenty of seating to eat there. After I paid, the man assisting me behind the counter told one of the helpers to bring my food to the car, which was REALLY nice and appreciated since it was raining. Buffalo chicken roll was okay and buffalo chicken pinwheel was even better but overall portion was very small. There are so many good Italian restaurants in Nassau County...sadly, this is not one of them. Today, I gave them a second chance and was very disappointed. I ordered a chicken parm entry. It came with a salad ( 1 small tomato, 1 slice of cucumber and a teaspoon of shredded carrot). I had to ask for silverware and a plastic fork was literally thrown on my table. Nice. The entree arrives and , surprise, it's not chicken parm but an extremely mushy eggplant parm. ( Frozen and microwaved no doubt. ) I'm done at this point. $31.00 for soggy eggplant, a bottle of water and a very meager salad. No how, no way will I give them another chance. P.S. Just look at the exterior of this place before you enter. No pride in their appearance usually means no pride in their food. read more

Staple here in Bellmore for almost 50 years, I've been coming here since I was a kid, Joe and his family are fabulous. People never had any complaints, their food is delicious, everything from the pizzas to take out to the dining room desserts. I was surprised that the pizza here was quite good. This is close to Mill Pond Park and a good stop for hungry people. One side is closed, so walk around and you will find the entrance. Place is bigger than expected and I did not spy any old pizzas, most looked fresh. I had the Brooklyn pizza and the crust was crisp and sturdy. Sauce tasted fresh and I tasted pecorino Romano sprinkled in there. It was a good size and I was good with one slice. Tables and facilities are clean. There are sealed plastic utensils if needed and also spices. Inflation has caused good prices to escalate. Three slices of non-regular pizza was close to $12. read more

Went back again today with the wife and got some takeout slices. We ordered the Honey Mustard Bacon Slice, Eggplant, and Chicken Bacon Ranch. Everything was excellent and each slice was a meal unto itself! The gentleman helping us was very pleasant, and we will definitely be coming back for more specialty slices. read more

We had a 90th birthday party at Stella's this past weekend. The party room was perfect for our 30+ guests and we all felt so comfortable. The serving staff were attentive and pleasant! They were extremely helpful with everything we needed, making sure we were happy. And the food! A good Italian cook always makes sure there's more than enough to feed the masses and Joe definitely delivers! Everyone loved the appetizers! The stuffed clams were tender, the stuffed mushrooms so full of different flavors and the calamari cooked perfectly! The main course choices are excellent and everyone thoroughly enjoyed what they ordered. Joe and his staff definitely go above and beyond to make sure everyone has what they want! I've been to several parties at Stella's - this was my first time hosting there. Joe and staff made it very easy! We had alot of fun and made a wonderful family memory for everyone! Pizza 7.5/10 He ordered a 1/2 pepperoni, 1/2 meatball pie. As far as the taste goes it was great but because of how heavy the meats were every time he picked up a slice all of the meat and cheese slid its way down to the edge of the pizza Spinach pinwheel 7/10 Taste was good but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it again. The people who work here are incredibly kind and empathetic. I babysit a 5 year old autistic boy and we love to come here after school. Our last 2 visits we were taken care of by Charlie, and he was so kind to my little buddy. He answered all his questions and made him feel welcome. Today, we went back and Charlie had 3 little toys from the quarter machines for him. They played with the toys together on the counter. Another older man who works there told him that once he finishes his pizza, he would get some free ice cream as well. I wish I got his name too! He was so excited, they let him go behind the counter to pick his flavor. The whole car ride home he was so happy about his new friends at the pizza place. I came here for a big group party, they have a private room in the back. If your party isn't big enough, they will sit other patrons in the same room. I felt bad for them. The food was really good and the party set up was appetizer, salad, pasta and entrée. Their penne alla vodka was very good and I have to say their meatballs tasted just like my great grandmothers. It was so juicy and moist. However, the sauce that came with the spagetti and meatballs was as liquidy as water. Put some paste in there, gezzz. Another reason for the lack of 5 stars was because I went to get their corona ice king ices after the party. There was one person attending counter and like 7 or 8 people making pizza or just chatting. Having to wait at least 5 minutes, I bolted. When I called the woman who answered the phone she said you have to ask for the pasta or you don't get it, which doesn't make sense but I did say chicken parm dinner with penne anyway. She told me she'd send someone ASAP, which took 50 minutes from my first phone call. Workers there are very stubborn and I felt like they were trying to get away with something by saying you have to ask for pasta or you don't get it. They were just making up CYA excuses. There are too many other pizzerias in Bellmore/Merrick to ever have to go back there. Next time skip this place for Italian food, no need to deal with their workers and their sneaky tactics. Take out is one thing that I don't recommend here, but eating here is great. When I take out from here it's so shitty and salty the food, especially the pizza. I ordered calamari, shrimp, and fried zucchini as an appetizer. When you order an entree, you will get a salad as well as a side of pasta. Once again, I ordered the penne siciliana. They also didn't include napkins, plastic ware, or grated cheese which I thought should have been included. Pasta was okay, just wish it was the correct one. Stella's has been my family's go to pizza place for well over 2 decades. Speciality slices are great--my faves are the buffalo chicken, barbecue chicken, and chicken parm slices.
