I came back! And I was not disappointed. This time we tried the Detroit style pizza, the cheese bread, and the barbecued calzone. The Detroit style pizza was everything. It should be crispy chewy and full of flavor. The cheese bread was the size of a small pizza with chunks of cheese. And herbs. The calzone knocked it out of the park for my son. This would be a hell of a place to open a sub and pizza shop. Judging from the plethora of other 1-star reviews, my experience is not at all unusual. My first visit. Orders are place at a window. You must press a button to get their attention. I pressed the button once; for precisely one-Mississippi. No beep, beeps. No tapping on the window.. About 20 seconds later the window opens with vigor (anger?) and the worker (owner?) shouts, "YOU HAVE TO BE PATIENT! YOUR ORDER WILL BE READY WHEN IT'S READY!" I mumble, "I have not placed an order yet." There is an awkward long pause ... I politely say that I'll eat elsewhere. This place is fire Anyone complaining about customer service can cry me a river. First off the guy is so busy he stops answering the phone since he seems to work alone. He gave me a free sample of the pasta, which was so damn good! I enjoyed that while I waited. Pizza was cooked to perfection. The subs were even right on point. You can taste every ingredient and one doesn't overpower the other. This is what good food should taste like. Love this place! All their bread is made in house for their sandwiches and it's really really good. The sandwiches are large and more than filling. Usually enough for two meals. Tony used to be cheesy, now I will never visit his establishment again. After I ordered a #3 combo and was giving 9 fries, i counted, yes i counted. He told me that was the lunch special. So i asked for pasta instead, Tony gave me the pasta and said its an upcharge. Okay, fine whatever, but he didnt charge me. I then asked what kind of deserts they had he told me i dont have nothing for your kind as he was closing the window. I get a call back only to be insulted by the "gentleman" on the line for not placing an order. Who calls a possible customer back only to insult them? Why? This was a pretty good Chicago Style pizza shame there's a lack of pictures on Yelp... I ordered the Hawaiian which had black olives, pineapple, bacon and ham. After it came out of the oven I suggested banana peppers along with red crushed peppers for next time and Tony went ahead to add them at no charge!! Thanks Tony who is still the owner and is still cooking after 31 years. Decent humor still for someone in the business that long haha This pie gives a great combination of sweet, sour and spicy which is a very ying yang approach. Sometimes I'll add feta or maybe remove the ham!?! Plenty of options... just ask Tony! Either way this is my favorite type of pizza the only complaint was something typical with these larger/thicker pies in that it's hard to heat up thoroughly. The subs were a major hit and were complimented on all night, they are reasonably priced and ready within a couple hours after calling. Called to see what was going on and before I could get anything out my mouth this "man" jumps down my throat, on defensive mode with an attitude saying "we don't just leave food out" when he didn't hear that I was asking "will it just be sitting there I wasn't sure so i wanted to call because I got a text" Talked over me so he didn't hear me correctly and got angry and defensive.
