The food was good but the service and friendliness of the staff is horrendous. We arrived around 7:30 but the place doesn't close until 10. Most of the floors were mopped and chairs placed on the tables as if they were closing soon. We waited behind a party of 5 to be seated and they mentioned they have been waiting awhile. When the hostess (Natalie) finally Came she was in the middle of eating and you could tell she was bothered by needing to do her job. We were seated at a table then told me needed to more because the waitress was off soon and didn't want a table. The restaurant wasn't very busy despite it being a Saturday night, looking particularly empty in all the open space. Service was particularly slow tonight, which I didn't understand since it wasn't busy. The onion loaf was slightly undercooked and VERY greasy this time. The server did keep up with drinks but we were on our second glasses of soda by the time food arrived. The baby back ribs were awesome, falling off the bone. The broccoli is always perfectly cooked, tender but still green. I love the loaded mashed potatoes. Others had the Caesar Salad, Chicken Alfredo and the Filet & Baby Back combos. Everyone was pleased. I understand the servers wanting a cash tip on a large bill but I found it slightly insulting to be asked for that, by the person receiving it, when presented with the bill. Dump, waited to be seated, then was seated at a dirty table by an unfriendly employee who clearly did not want to be there. No issues ordering or getting food. Food came quickly and was as expected. Refills were nonexistent, we asked for a desert menu twice and finally got it, but server disappeared for 10 minutes. When we got to order we were told kitchen was closed. Why bother playing games with the menu if that was the case. We did come in at 7:50, 40 minutes before kitchen closed and hour and 10 before doors closed so we totally understand the employees just wanted to go home. Others came in after us and left before us. They obviously had better servers. The view is totally awesome if you can get seated outside or by a window. However, the Mississippi River bugs were plentiful. It's now 6:10 and we have received 1 salad, 1 cup of soup and one appetizer. There are multiple empty tables in several areas of the restaurant. 6:25 and the first tray of food has arrived. 6:28 and all food has arrived. OK let's start with making a reservation for New Years Eve weeks in advanced, nothing out of the ordinary was said at the time about the restaurant. Upon arriving for what should have been a See food, Steak house we find what could only be described as a wide open Applebees. Then we find out we get seated in a booth style seating like the old time shakes pizza house. The next thing we find out is there is no drink from the bar like a nice bottle of wine or a cocktail because the new owners decided to keep things going with soda instead of having a steak house ready for business. Cold beer tasted good but that was about it. 40 minutes for food and received way over cooked chicken breast plus an over cooked burger (while restaurant was not nearly busy to warrant that long of food service). A couple of months ago my family and I are here we were less than thrilled. My review got the attention of the managers and I received an opportunity to try them again. This time was much better. Our server Savannah was friendly and attentive while she waited on us and several other customers. The food was delicious and we'll prepared and seasoned. It was pretty mediocre. Nothing any of us had was great. It wasn't bad. It just wasn't anything to be excited about. The steaks were barely half an inch and very fatty. The short ribs were cooked with the membrane on. They tasted okay but I expected better than okay, especially for that price. The vegetables were so overcooked I couldn't even guess which were zucchini, squash, or carrots. They were just watery mush. The hamburger was dry. I guess if you were staying at the hotel, it's good enough but I wouldn't drive down to it on purpose again. For what we got, every dish was $5-$10 overpriced. On the other hand, our server, Chris, was very patient and attentive without being intrusive. Every single request was met perfectly with a smile. He was very good and deserves a better restaurant. Last time I ate at a Tony Roma's it was in an airport. This was a much better experience. I ordered the ribs (original), baked potato and broccoli. The ribs were tender and tasty. The broccoli was also very good. Potato, though big, was very dry. Read some reviews that pointed out poor food and/or less than expectable service. I had no problem with either. read more

If it wasn't for T'assia's service (sorry if I misspelled it) this would be a two-star. She did a fantastic job taking care of us! We were met by Harry Dunne and Lloyd Christmas, eventually, when we arrived. Look it up if you're not familiar with them. I've never eaten at a near-empty restaurant where the biggest challenge was getting seated because they wanted work towards closing vice serving customers. The menu is abbreviated - no idea if it was COVID-related, hotel-related, or just that these restaurants are closing, nationwide - and truly uninspired for the prices. Our steaks were passable, which was a pleasant surprise. The NY Strip is thicker than the Ribeye, and a little tougher, but it's easier to trim. The salads were fresh, but bland. The sides were OK, at best, and we had the wild rice, loaded mashed potatoes, and French fries. We knew what we were getting into when we didn't leave the hotel, as it's remarkably mediocre food that's presented as upscale for the business hotel guest, or casual for the water park hotel guest with kids, and neither particularly good nor bad food if you acknowledge this going in. read more

Open the top of the coffees and there are black floaters in it- nope NOT GRINDS- somethings burnt and throughout the coffees, which I wouldn't drink with fake creamer anyhow- does the owner/manager of this place care about health at all? Very sad. It's been a few years since I had their ribs. Definitely should have waited longer. The onion loaf was dripping with grease and no flavor. The St. Louis style ribs were so processed, it was like eating an MRE. Cole slaw was odorless, colorless, and tasteless. Fries were the best part. Service was mediocre. Next time I'll bring a sandwich and eat on a bench. Won't go back even if the meal was free and I spent the last 6 months at a fat farm. We stayed at the Grand Rapids Resort. We stopped in for a dinner. We started with an Agave Nectar Margarita and a Citrus Habanero Romarita. The margaritas come with shakers, you get 2-3 margaritas per drink, so it's a good deal. We ask for menus a couple of times, but never got them. Finally, we asked again and got a couple, then the bartender never came back to ask if we wanted to order anything. Then...he left. After we lost the original guy, a lady took over. We don't know their names because they never bothered to introduce themselves. But we asked her while she was making other drinks if we could get the Onion Loaf. The Onion Loaf was ok. It was pretty soggy and the bbq sauce wasn't very good. Another review said you needed to try it once in your life. I disagree. I wouldn't order it again. If I want a fried onion I'm going to Texas Roadhouse or Longhorn. We then ordered the Shrimp Scampi Pasta. It came out quick and had a lot of shrimp. It was fairly bland and flavorless. We didn't eat much. I don't recommend this. The service SUCKED. Sitting at the bar, you would think service would be better than at a table. It wasn't. Even the wait staff was waiting on the bartender to make drinks. One server waited a couple minutes for his table's drinks and finally went behind the bar to make the drink himself. Went there on Sunday night. First thing I noticed was the 3 hostesses all with bad looks on their faces. Ordered the famous ribs along with a Caesar salad. The salad wasn't bad but after eating the salad within 2 minutes the ribs came out! This is one of my pet peeves, when restaurants don't space out the meal. Anyway contacted the manager who said he would take off the salad. As far as the food goes, it was average at best, a little better than Applebee's, the BBQ sauce was weak at best. After getting the bill for the meal, noticed the salad wasn't taken off, so had to contact the manager again. Also, within 2 feet of our meal were a variety of dead flys. Told the manager about this and he just replied, "we are working on the problem." If anything shouldn't they be checking the area for dead flys ?
