Living in Marvin, I'm used to getting ripped off by the brand name tire stores lining the Waxhaw Marvin / Providence Rd route. Most of them can't even road force balance tires, but Black's can. For brakes on my Nissan Titan, they offered the NAPA silentguard and installed them for $209 out the door. Every other tire shop closer to me wants $450+ for the same job, telling you how much they are marking up their labor. Hell, even the dealer was going to charge me $329, and I was shocked that it was less than the other shops but at least there, I expect the Dealer to rip me off. If you live in Waxhaw/Marvin and need tires and service for your vehicle, I am telling you to drive the extra 20 minutes and get down to Monroe and see these guys. I was told they get a $100.00 per hour, which prices are not listed, by the father, the son, and another worker fixed it, son told his father they worked on it for 15 minutes........ so $25.00 plus tax should have been the cost...... I had a terrible experience at this shop. I went to Chris for a labor only brake job for rear…read morebrakes & rotors (I bought my own parts prior). I was quoted 158 for this job the day prior over the phone and I confirmed at the start of the appointment if that would be the price. My brakes were in poor shape, missing a brake pad on one side and the mechanics spent an extra 15-20 mins working on my cylinder. At the end of the job, Chris informed me that they got air on the line and would have to bleed the brakes. (I've always had my brakes bled at the end of any brake job so this is standard for me to have done whenever I get my breaks done. They told me this would be an extra 120 dollars at the end of the job. My father is a mechanic and said that price was a little high just to bleed the brakes and was very familiar with the procedure. He told me "go call your dad and ask him to send you more money." When I asked if they could take 20 bucks off and knock the price down to 100 from 120 he asked me to tell him how old I was which I thought was rude and uncalled for. I told him I was 30 and he proceeded to say "wow you look 18" and said "one day you're going to have to learn that everything in life isn't free sweetheart." When I went to his office to pay he also said I'm going to have to buy him lunch because they spent extra time working on my car than they planned. Disgusting behavior. I would not recommend this shop to any woman (or really anyone) unless you want to be taken advantage of and upsold. They ended up bleeding one brake so my car would be somewhat drivable. My interior dashboard was also scratched up when I got my car back from them.
