What luck I have with wood. Drove here from Arden area based on their published hours online (9am-3pm) at about 10:30am. Arrived to a close gate-yet people working and stacking wood. Confused, I was asked by, presumably, the owner, how he could help me. Mentioned I was interested in buying wood. He told me they were closed and the others there had appointments but seemed to still want my business so proceeded (grudgingly it seemed) to inquire as to what I wanted. I told him simply that I needed wood. I asked if he had boxes he said, sharply, all sold out yesterday. I said I came with my car and he said they sell a "trunkload" (their posted language) and said they wood is clean, etc. Skeptical I proceeded forward per his instructions to swing my CAR around and into his yard and awaited to have wood loaded. His employee started to load said wood and was promptly stopped, CUSSED OUT harshly by presumably the owner, in the presence of other customers (with or without appointments-who knows). I decided that was enough and not to give this business my money. No employee or person should ever have to be spoken to like that-ever. I cannot speak to the quality of their wood and never will be able to. read more

In 2020 I purchased a cord of firewood from a company that advertised a mixture of oak and other hardwoods. Two guys showed up with a ford pickup/camping cab and dumped a pile of odds/ends, different lengths, and unseasoned wood in my driveway and then they drove away. In 2021 I ordered a cord of Almond from Tony's Firewood. The cord was delivered extremely professionally and was one of the best cords of firewood that I have ever purchased. The almond was dry, split, and consistently cut to a perfect length. Tony's Firewood has a customer for life. I HIGHLY recommend them! read more

The website for this place says they open at 9 a.m. I go to show up a little after 9 a.m. and the owner came out to tell me they don't open until 10 a.m. I have to admit i was a little upset how he went about talking to me, but it is what it is. I was thinking to myself not to return, but where the hell else was i going to be able to get wood for a fire last minute. I got back, and there's this line of cars and people. I park my car get in line, and the owner sees me in line with about 5 or 6 people ahead of me. He allowed me to be to be the first customer since he had spoke to me earlier. Tony's is having a tough time with all the lockdowns and added expenses for fuel and materials. They have hard and soft wood available for pickup and delivery. I called Tony's firewood just about 10 minutes ago and I was greeted by quite possibly the worst representative that could ever answer the phone who sounded like she hated her life and was disgusted by anybody that called. I was then called back and screamed at by I'm assuming the manager or owner because I was told that " you just called one of my workers and told them if they were......". I responded with yes I did because the second I was greeted I felt that I was not even close to being something that she cared about so I'm assuming she hates her job or hates her manager or hates her life but it sucked my experience with Tony's firewood was horrible read more

This guy is lucky that he got one star if I suggest I would try to go somewhere else. To start out he had a line waiting to get into the place to grab wood and right off the bat I can see this guy was off his rocker. He yelled at one of his employees like he was a 10-year-old child saying I told you not to let anybody in do I have to hold your fucking hand. As he told me to back up to a pile and start loading wood I proceeded to do so. After a couple minutes of loading my own truck he came over and said not this pile you dumb ass do I have to hold your fucking hand to. Me and him got into Small altercation and some words were exchanged. But as a business owner you don't talk to customers like that. This place needs to be shut down the guys a piece of shit. read more

I've been buying my firewood here for years...great customer service, family owned and operated, fair prices. Upfront and transparent with recent challenges (wildfires, covid, etc..) in order to best serve their customer's needs. In the past, whenever I've used their crew to stack my wood, I've been impressed with their expertise, speed, and friendliness....excellent cleanup afterwards. The guys on the lot are always helpful whenever I stop by for kindling, a real bargain for a large bundle. read more

I ordered a cord of hardwood from Tony's Firewood (almond and oak). Two days before delivery, the owner Jimmy called me and he said that the guy who brings him all the almond had COVID along with the rest of his family and he didn't know when he could get the wood to him. Jimmy then called me and told me the situation. He offered to replace the almond with walnut and even gave me a little break in the price. I thought this was very courteous and professional, he could've just brought the wood and dumped it and I never would have known the difference between the almond and the walnut. Unlike those jokers at Hazel Ave and Fair Oaks who give you wood that's wet and substitute different, cheaper woods without telling you. Jimmy's sister, Linda, works the office and is a delight to work with. They made me feel like family. Needless to say, they have my business from now on. J Shark. Folsom. read more

The service has been great, as well as the timeliness of delivery. The wood that I have gotten burns very quickly. Very very fast. Walnut and walnut almond and I have gone thru a cord and am working on the other 2/3rd. The wood seems to come from rotten trees and has already started to decompose. Also some of the pieces are giant, and I have a large fireplace. A neighbor offered to split some of the pieces for me , but I declined. Not a negative review, but not a 5 star either. I will use them again and hope for better wood. read more

Talk about customer attention. Not only did I get there and out in less than 20 mins, the gentleman helped me load my load into the truck with much more precision than I could muster on a FriYay! Wood was good quality, burned good and no awful smells of chemicals. My husband and I arrived at Tony's at 4:35 on a Tuesday. Before we were even out of the truck, we were approached by an employee. This is a summary of our conversation: Employee: We leave right at 5 o'clock. (Please note: no hello or welcome) Us: Yes, we saw that online that's why we arrived before 5. We would like to get a cord of wood. Employee: We can't do that. Us: Why not? Employee: Because we leave at 5 o'clock. Us: Well if you help us out, we can be out of here with the wood by 5. Employee: Oh no we don't do that. Us: ??? The poor customer "service" at Tony's completely turned us off. There is nothing more frustrating than a business not willing to simply do their job. Because of their - let's just call it what it is - laziness, they lost out on not only our purchase that day, but all our future purchases. How are people like this still in business? All I wanted & as clear as glass described when I originally phoned in was some well cured, seasoned & or dried wood for our fireplace in order to build some roaring & warm fires with..... I was assured that was exactly what I was getting..... I was sure as well to inform Tony's that I was a seasoned fire builder & knew wood so as to hopefully stave off receiving unsatisfactory wood... It didn't work... Damn! I was assured the wood we were getting burned: CLEAN & HOT.... It doesn't; it smokes & smolders......endlessly.......... $180 for that 1/4 of a cord of wood which included a delivery charge of $40. Oak & Almond. It took 1 fire this past Monday to realize that one person's idea of seasoned/cured wood is another's for immature, young not seasoned wood. I knew as we stacked it after it's drop that it was entirely too heavy for it's size but I hadn't burnt it yet so I trusted them..... I'd say maybe 6-7 months at best of curing. I have ordered, stacked, unstacked & burnt more cords of wood in my lifetime than I have been alive... I know wood... So what's the problem? The problem is that when wood is not cured long enough aka: dried out it retains its natural moisture & leads to pieces of said wood that when lit, smoke & smolder regardless of your attempts to make them properly ignite & burn clean & hot. Moisture & fire do not mix. Also: A properly crafted "fire" is one that catches fire quickly, builds a nice bed of red/orange hot coals & allows you to load a nice log or three onto it & walk away turning it every so often at best & yields hours of warm cozy goodness.... That's not what I got with the wood purchased from Tony's but instead was stuck turning & adjusting the wood for hours on end, ending in a home that smelt of smoke & returned very little heat if any... It's a miserable & frustrating experience as its at this point you have two options: drag the half lit smoldering wood outside and hose it down OR do your damnedest to make it burn down to ashes by constantly turning and adjusting it... Proper cross ventilation, immaculate just professionally cleaned & inspected earlier in the day fireplace & chimney, flue wide open, perfect proportions of super dry kindling, newspaper and fire to light it all... YES everything was in-line to make for one amazing kick ass fire. OH! and I'm a seasoned fire~starter of more than 25 years... MY BEEF: I called yesterday & spoke with Mike telling him about the issue & that I would like the issue addressed as I would not be building anymore fires with this shipment of wood. His response was that he would come out and see for himself tomorrow. His tone was sarcastic, rude & demeaning. Poor CS. Today he arrived & proceeded to tell my man that the majority of the wood was dried & cured but there were a few pieces that were not so his solution was to pick through the wood removing the 'not' cured pieces. He was informed that was not going to be sufficient. Mike & I then spoke on the phone & this is when it goes from bad to worse. He asked me what I wanted so I told him I trusted their judgment the first time and that turned out badly so I would like a refund and you can come & pick up the wood and take it back with you. Mike then told me: NO! No, that's not going to happen. We will come out & remove that wood & replace it with drier more cured wood. Why in the hell do you ask a customer what they want only to issue them the only option a business has which is to keep swapping out the wood until the customer is happy? That is a piss poor business practice seeing's as how I was informed today of their 100% customer satisfaction which translates into: no monies refunded for unsatisfactory wet wood delivered. Your only option is to exchange the wood for more of our wood. I have an issue with this as the trust has already been broken. They claim to be experts in wood. This makes the integrity issue even more of an issue for me as being experts you know when your advertising & selling 'cured/seasoned' wood that is really young and not so seasoned. Ethics are everything or in some cases nothing at all....... I received a call from Linda the owners daughter within minutes of my last convo with ol' Mike. She called as she suggested tomorrow when they swap the wood out that we go with Eucalyptus instead as she's confident it will burn the best as its what she uses 100% of the time in her own home. Linda also said that the Almond we have is cured but is also 'young' hence the smoking it does and stated that if we got Almond tomorrow it would be coming from the same "vendor supply" that we already had...... Mike failed to mention this to me earlier. I'm stopping now as well there isn't enough time nor space to chronicle this experience lets just say that even if the swapped out wood scheduled for tomorrow ends up being the best I've ever had I will not buy from Tony's again. read more

Like someone else said, these guys seemed the most honest when I was in the market for a cord of firewood. Delivery set me back $100 for a Lincoln drop off, but the firewood was not only high quality and cut into perfect pieces for my small fireplace- but I think they gave me a little more than a cord, which is great. The only negative is that about 40% of the firewood does not look like it's been seasoned for a year- which they told me over the phone. It looks 6 month's seasoned (AT BEST). There's even some fresh looking green moss on some logs. Furthermore, when I split some of the logs with my axe, I found the inside to be quite damp- indicative of very freshly cut wood. In any case, the wood eventually burns in my fireplace, but requires a DURAFLAME to get things going. I'd buy from them again- but only in the summer. read more

Way overpriced IMO. I have a bad back and I love how they watch you load up the wood. Not sure if my disabled plates on my vehicle wasn't a big enough clue that I would have liked some help.... Tony's firewood is a nice local dealer. We have bought cords of wood from him in the past, but today I was looking for just a bit of firewood to have a nice fire for a few days during a week of rain. I paid $30 for 7 cubic feet of wood which I felt was more than fair. The wood lasted me about 4-5 days which was perfect! It was pouring rain and they greeted me as I drove up, and explained my choices then even helped me load it into my vehicle. When I went inside to pay it was nice that they had a small woodstove going and the nice warm heat from the fire made it even cozier and made me look forward to my own cozy fire. They are a nice, friendly, locally owned operation, that I would recommend. read more

Having a fire going inside their office was nice while we shored up payment, plus everyone else there was quite friendly. I picked up a quarter cord of wood last week, half almond and half oak. The wood is going to take at least a year to properly cure. It looks seasoned, but it's wet and sizzles with water coming out of the sides when you attempt to burn it. First and last time I'm buying wood from Tony's. read more
