Tony's is a weekly staple for my job's group lunch. Their pizza is consistently good, solid New York style. I have had a few of their other menu items, and I have enjoyed those as well. The size of their slices is gargantuan, and I can usually only get through half of a slice at a time. Whenever Tony's is mentioned around lunch time, so many of us in my department want in on that action. The staff is friendly, and the service is fast. read more

Stopped inside on a Saturday of car shopping.....ordered a large half cheese half pepperoni for the kids. It's was so tasty , thin crust and huge slices! The mozzarella sticks were great too! The head guy ( didn't catch his name) was so kind and accommodating towards the kids and their preferences:) Kudos! It was peaceful inside as we sat down to eat ( rare moment ) and they had a soccer game on the tv in which you can see from any booth:) We enjoyed the pizza, atmosphere and fantastic staff working today !! Super friendly on the phone and when picking up my order. I had ordered pizza here before & didn't care for it, but it's been a while so I thought I'd try something else. The eggplant parm tasted good - but I was in the bathroom all night. I was also bothered that I noticed my last minute cannoli order being filled by a woman who had been sitting at a table eating with a friend and didn't wash her hands or wear gloves when filling them. I've taken my regulated snowspeeder up to the bristly harsh north of Raleigh and found the greatest NYC-like pizza and people! I'm no Jedi, but the Force is strong with this pizza pie. Its got the thin dough, the crispy crust, sweet light sauce, and gooey cheese like is ever so slightly greasy. Tony's is tucked away behind the Carmax off of Glenwood Ave right before you get to the 540 exit. Its in a relatively new shopping center surrounded by houses, so its actually quite nice I bet to go and enjoy a slice outside. I had classic NY pizza takeout on my way home from the gym, so I couldn't really enjoy the suburban NC pizza setup. However, people often confuse NC suburb pizza restaurants with not being authentic NY style pizza. I will promise you this, it is not Sabarro! And most NY restaurants are set up just like this one. Thus the simple atmosphere does not take anything away. It just makes it easier to enjoy such fantastic pizza. Did I mention the pizza only comes in 15" 17" and 19" pie sizes? Our first visit to Tony's was on Wednesday night which happened to be DJ Trivia Night. However, today we learned that they no longer have DJ Trivia Night to my 11yo's dismay. Oh well. It was kinda cheesy but good family fun. Needless to say, Tony's is very family friendly (Read: go after 6:30-7:00 pm if you want to miss the little ones. Not that I have anything against younger kids. Been there, done that. I'm just sayin'.) The staff is friendly, the pizza is good and the prices are decent. I was unimpressed by this pizza joint. It wasn't bad - it just wasn't that good. It's a fairly new place and was pretty busy the night I stopped by. I admit to being a bit of a pizza snob, but the crust/sauce combo was a little mushy and bland. The chicken wings were good - very crispy - better if they only tossed them in the sauce before serving them (they're served dry with sauce on the side). What a hidden gem! I was visiting Raleigh (from Colorado), and I was craving some East coast pizza. Went here with 4 family members, so seating was a little tight (booth style), so it's better for groups of 4 or less. However, it wasn't crowded at all for a weekend. Ordered a large pizza (half cheese, half sausage and shrooms), and the crust was perfectly crispy. I'd say go simple on the toppings, otherwise it gets pretty messy. The showstopper is Tony's cannoli. Don't go home without one. The filling had little chocolate chips and wasn't too sweet, and the shell texture was like it had just been baked/fried, super crunchy! As a New York native, my standards are pretty high for Pizza (I know, that's an annoying way to start a review). The pizza was just OK. They got the thiness right, but there was almost no sauce and all I tasted was the salt from the cheese. I did enjoy staring at the NYC subway map on the wall while reminiscing about commuting on the train for an hour to work, usually wedged between two people with some crazy body odor. Saturday night and we are all hungry and want to get some take out. So let's try Tony's Pizza for the first time and we found a Citipass coupon for a Complimentary Pizza which makes it even better. We telephone in a large order and tell the person at Tony's Pizza about the coupon. So far, so good. When we arrived the order was ready and when we went to pay the cashier he asked the manager (Tony?) about the coupon. The manager (Tony??) then told us that the Complimentary Pizza did not apply to the Sicilian pizza that we ordered. No where did it state on the coupon about this little exception and anyway we had also ordered a White Cheese pizza in addition to the Sicilian pizza. But manager (Tony?) being a shrewd business man told us we could use the coupon the next time we came in. Of course by this time, my wife and I are thinking you ripped us off so there will not be a next time for Tony's Pizza. And you know the food was not that bad. There are many places around that claim to have "authentic" NY-style, but I tend to disagree with a good amount of them. (Especially having lived in Queens and Brooklyn). Tony's pizza is New York style, so this means that the slices are abnormally large. The location is in a nice location in an upper class neighborhood in North Raleigh near Carmaxx..Which is how I accidently found their store. I was test driving my new car when I "discovered" their store. Tony's has fresh ingredients, a chewy, hand tossed crust, and just right pizza sauce. Great stuff! Wasn't Impressed with Tony's pizza. pizza wasn't ready at the time the online order said. It took an extra 15 minutes. We added spinach to our vegetarian pizza and it tasted really odd and bitter... more like collard greens or something . Staff wasn't friendly either and the pizza is just so so. read more

My wife and I always get the Steak and Cheese sub, and they are great. Decent sub roll, and very generous portions of steak, with shredded lettuce, provolone and tasty oil/vinegar mix. If I am really hungry will also get a slice of pizza. The slices are huge and while it is not my favorite pizza in the area it is good. Have great fries as well (and I think their menu lists them as "Freedom Fries"- gotta love that.) Also have Pepsi products which scores points with us. read more

I called in to place an order. The guy who answered the phone did not speak english well and his accent was terribly thick. He repeated my order to me, right down to the sauce on my salad. Then once i get there, the SAME guy tells me there is no order. He offers to make it then but I'd already waited the 25 minutes he told me over the phone. VERY upset about this. We love Tony's pizza. We have tried many of the "NY style" pizzerias in the area and this one is the best. There is plenty of sauce and cheese on the pizza. The slices are huge. They are thin, but that allows the crust to be crispy. I usually don't waste my time on the crusts, but this place is an exception. Even reheated the pizza is great. The offer a punch card, so don't forget. There is ALWAYS a coupon for Tony's in the Premier magazine. They even have the magazines at the location. They serve Pepsi...which is a minus for me. They do have beer. There is a Lowe's grocery store in the strip, so you can get a movie while you wait for your pizza. They have seating inside and 2 table outside...near the back door. read more

This is our neighborhood pizza joint. Their pizza slices are huge, crispy, cheesy, NY style slices. We love coming here for a quick lunch or ordering for dinner. They also have really good warm subs, my favorite is the chicken parmesan sub. Service is quick and decently priced. read more

I enjoy grabbing a cheese or pepperoni slice or two for lunch and sometimes adding on some garlic bread. With the family we'll normally go for the Tony's Special which has a little bit of everything on it. Pretty filling and tasty. I used to live in the development here and we often received coupons in the mail so keep an eye out for savings opportunities. read more
