I used to go to Tony's back in the 1960s and 1970s with my family when I was little. The decor has not changed much since that time! But when something works, you don't need to change it. Here's my little secret for you. If you're craving an Italian family feast, you can just order a bunch of takeout from Tony's. A full order of spaghetti with meat sauce. A side of meatballs. Bread will come with this order. Order a large pepperoni pizza. And a large anti-pasta salad with dressing on the side. This will cost you between $40 - $50 and will feed an entire family. The spaghetti is good and the sauce is just about the best around here. The dressing on the anti-pasta salad is addictive. You will either love or hate the pizza. I love it. Crust is super thin and you can fold your slice in half. Very light on the sauce (I know this will be controversial, but I like light sauce on my pizza), the top of the pizza is greasy with cheese and pepperoni. Great flavor, but full confession here, I do like to dab it with some paper towels. The meatballs are full of flavor, but in my opinion, have too many breadcrumbs in them. Been going for years. I get a pizza there at least 1-2 times a month. It's my favorite round pizza in the area. I like that it doesn't have a ton of sauce and the sauce is not super thick like paste. Finally stopped in at Tony's with my family for dinner. For years I had driven by it and for one reason or another didn't try it. Plenty of seating and got sat right away. Service was solid. Drinks were quick and refilled often. The pizza was good. Homemade and thin with real old world pepperoni. The breadsticks were also tasty. We had some Chicken Parm with a side of spaghetti. Good as well. Heavy breading (I like mine like that but my wife not so much). My youngest got fish and Chips. He loved the fish. What could be improved: salads were mid (just wet iceberg lettuce with dressing), no dipping sauce was given with the bread, and the fries with the fish were not cooked enough. Now THIS is everything a pizza is supposed to be. I've had pizza from some of the best places in the country and Tony's stands right up there with some of the best. It's got the perfect amount of oil so don't listen to all these people saying it was too oily or greasy. These people don't know what an actual pizza is supposed to taste or look like. These are the types of people chasing that gluten free pizza or the pizza spots with gimmicks. This place doesn't have that. It has good ol fashioned pizza, the way it's supposed to be. The cheese is fresh and top quality. The sauce is delicious and isn't overbearing at all. They put just the right amount. The dough is thin and cooked to perfection. The old world pepperonis are bursting with flavor. Tony's deserves all five stars. Definitely my favorite ROUND pizza in Michigan thus far. I ordered my pizza to go but it has also has a nice mom and pop vibe inside the restaurant with a modest design. Just what a pizza place is supposed to be. I drive by this place when I am going for tacos on taco Tuesday. So I decided to stop in and check it out on a Friday. Around the end of February. I was a little worried they would be busy and have to wait. I pulled in, and it was not that busy. I got seated right away, but it took a little bit before someone came to the table to wait on me. I ordered a medium pizza with Pepperoni and mushrooms. When the server brought my pizza, she said they accidentally made a large pizza instead of a medium one, and they were only going to charge me for a medium. The pizza was excellent. I love thinner-style pizza. When I say this, I do realize that places are short-staffed. They were not that busy, and I am unsure where the server went, but she never returned to check on me. I had to ask someone to get her so I could get a to-go box and my bill. I have half of the pizza left, and she brought me this small styrofoam to-go box. I asked if she had anything bigger she brought me another small Styrofoam container. I am not saying I would never come back, but one of the things I hate is getting held hostage at the end of your meal because the server disappeared. read more

The service was amazing, we went in during a very slow time. The waitress was awesome, frequently rounded and kept our drinks full! The food was very average though. I love family owned restaurants like this which I was very disappointed about! We did only get the pasta, my bf order the chicken Alfredo and I got the chicken Parmesan. I live within a mile of this little mom and pop Italian joint. I have always wondered about their food since it seems so unassuming and it is not flashy so wouldn't be super eye catching either. Yet, they have been around and I often see a number of cars in their parking lot. I get occasional cravings for pizza and during this crazy time of quarantine and businesses struggling to stay open, I decided I would give them a try. I am so glad I did. I tried a medium Tonys Super Special because i feel like it is a classic litmus test for any pizza (pepperoni, ham, peppers, onions, and mushrooms). There were two of us that shared and we ate the whole pizza in one sitting. Piping hot, plenty of fresh cheese for that amazing cheese pull and flavor packed sauce. I cant wait to go and try more from them...or to just get another Tony's super special even. I live in NYC and get Tony's for my nieces and nephews whenever I'm in town so they can taste some legitimately great pizza. I can't understand the last review that said the pizza tasted frozen. I guess the reviewer must be used to big pizza chains, where nothing is made in-house only assembled and baked. Tony's is defiantly better than any chain! I've been going for years and it's delicious. If Tony's were in New York, there would be a line out the door every day and it would feature prominently on pizza tours. I get that you may be short-staffed but, you can communicate and let customers know it may be awhile, bring water, menus, a basket of bread and butter -- anything. The pizza was absolute perfection, light tasty sauce, plenty of cheese, crust both crispy & chewy and toppings were just the right amount. I also had the manicotti with meat sauce, cheesy but the sauce did lack a little on the meat, but it definitely did not ruin my meal. Recently visited Tony's Pizzeria and Restaurant on Dequindre just south of 15 mile in Troy. This multigenerational family run business has been around since 1961 serving patrons of all ages it's hand made pizza pies and Italian pastas. The thing I like about Tony's is that over the years it has retained its small independent casual charm and consistency. Tony's specialty is what I will refer to as it's "old style pizza", before the pizza chains, and an assortment of prominent pasta dishes that reminds one of meals your mother made when one was growing up. On this visit, we have been here many times over the years, my wife ordered the spaghetti and homemade meatballs while I selected Papa Tony's Italian Sub. House salads are included with any dinner entrees along with Tony's "unlimited" soft fresh warm garlic bread sticks. Tony's house made Italian salad dressing is one of our favorites and certainly reflects the care and detail that the family devotes in preparing its offerings for its patrons. The pasta was served with 2 giant meatballs and did not disappoint. Papa Tony's sub was served warm and loaded with Italian salami, ham, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and of course a side of the house Italian dressing. This also did not disappoint. Friendly efficient service, good quality food, great affordability and best of all a reflection of an era gone by. Kudos to Tony's for its consistency and knowing what its multigenerational customers expect. read more
