Delicious! We were staying at a hotel near here and my bf said it was good, so we ordered a large pizza and breadsticks. I killed half of the large pizza. I'm not even ashamed, it was great! A little disheartened that they forgot sauce, and it was too late to go back...but the sticks had enough garlic-ey flavor that it was fine! I hear it is family owned too...Even better! read more

We have gone to Tony's on two occasions in the last few months and both times were great. We ordered the Tony's special pizza, antipasto salad and breadsticks both times. We have also tried the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and minestrone soup. All of these are excellent! The pizza crust is really good and the antipasto dressing is amazing! A-OK is what it is. That doesn't mean bad. Tony's has decent food (props to the bread sticks in particular). However, it doesn't rise to the next level (suggestions: more romaine and different veggies in the house salad, more eggplant the the eggplant Parmesan). Note: I have had only the pasta, not the pizza, so this may be a bit unfair. What Tony's does have in abundance is atmosphere. The room has a full-on Italian family feel to it. The waitresses have a Moonstruck pluckiness. The result is a comfortable vibe that may be just the prescription for you, regardless of the food. Nice place, that Tony's. read more

Someone call Chef Ramsey, what a nightmare. The family was nice but running around sweating on everything is a bit of a turn off. Upon arrival we waited 5 minutes for a seat in an empty restaurant, only because every single table was covered with dirty dishes, I mean it looked like they hadn't bussed a single table all day. We started with an antipasta salad, what a disappointment. It was 8 bucks & we got less then a 1/2 a head of poorly chopped iceberg lettuce they buried with a gallon of oil & "WATER" dressing which they then topped with two slices of salami, warm cheese & a few olives. I was starting to get the feeling my impression of their restaurant was not a concern of theirs. The bread sticks were served with no sauce & we had to pull teeth to get it. I was crossing my fingers that maybe the pizza would save this meal, nope. Cold, under cooked super bland pizza with a rather large pool of water. I could think of at least 10 other pizzerias in the area to go to before I made myself a regular here! I'm hoping I just caught them on a bad day, but I doubt I'll ever be brave enough to return here anytime soon as this memory haunts my pizza dreams. read more

Kind of a hole in the wall business, but I'm glad I gave it a try. Pizza was so good! Definitely different and better than your typical pizza franchises down the road. I especially enjoyed the crust! I love Alibi in Troy, but Tony's crust tasted different and the flavors were really good. I got basic toppings and took it to go, but we finished the pizza so fast. The eggplant is dipped in their wonderful batter and deep-fried until the inside is creamy and like velvet. Then topped with whichever sauce you'd like, then topped with cheese and baked. Served with a side salad that's always fresh and crisp and topped with their homemade Italian dressing that is to die for! It is family owned. It is not a chain. The food offers great value. It won't rival a trip to Naples, but it is worth a visit.

The pizza looked like it was for dieters. The crust was thin, sauce was non-existent, the cheese was ok, but the toppings were very scarce. We ordered 2 large pizzas with 3 toppings. I had 2 pieces: one only had one crumb of sausage & that's it. The other only had 2 morsels of toppings. The salad was good. The service was disappointing, after the food was delivered the waitress never came back to check on us. We were all disappointed, and we all left hungry. We won't be returning. read more

We love this place! Our family has been coming here for close to 40 years and it is still the best Italian Restaurant in Southeast Michigan. All the food is authentic, they way it should be made, doesn't taste like the chain restaurants at all! Baked spaghetti is the best, chicken parmesan and eggplant parmesan are excellent, Italian dressing on the salad is so good, no words can describe! So I go to Tony's over a bunch of other suggestions because I 'had to try this place'. Ok fine, i'm always up for something new. We get there and the place has maybe 5 tables of people and the rest is pretty empty. We get seated and i'm looking past my booth to the ones on the opposite wall and all the tables were dirty. Like 3 of them that had dishes and napkins everywhere and they stayed that way till just before we left like an hour later. The pizza came like 20 minutes later and it's not what I call pizza. It's what New Yorkers might call pizza, but this wasn't even a good rendition of a NY style pizza. Crust was rubbery and I couldn't get a knife through it so I had to pick it up.. like a NY style pizza should be.. but I digress. It had a good cheese blend (Fontina, Parm?) and had the little pepperonis that I like, but overall this crust was not what the DR ordered. Staff was friendly but seemed oddly overworked for a mostly empty restaurant. The place itself needs a redux but i've had better food in worse conditions too. Place needs some TLC in every area, but it could have a Renaissance if it just tried, me thinks. read more
