Different for us TooJays in that they have a bar! Waitress was a little off and forgot mayo that was asked for when order was placed. Food as usual at TooJays was delightful. My dish and the wife of my husband's friend ordered the trio salad plate. The scoops of my shrimp salad and chicken salad were fresh and delicious even got some chicken salad to take home. Husband had the shepherds pie and he truly enjoyed it. His friend had matzoh ball soup and corn beef sandwich. We had a take out order as its hard for the "rents" to get ready and go out. I got, and now don't scrunch your face at this, a pastrami and chopped liver sandwich on challah. Grew up in NY and have been eating this combo for more than 40 years. I don't care for seeded rye and so challah is always a great choice. Came with a small side of cole slaw and a pickle. I've had this sandwich before and it does not disappoint. If you like chopped liver, then this one is it, top shelf, nice. The pastrami was good and had a bit of fat on it, that I removed. Overall it is a solid good choice, again, if you like that stuff. I was going to only eat half and save the other half, but it was so good, down it all went. Husband got the hot dogs, two large all beef on buns with a side of fries. I am not sure how he ate all that, but he did. Rents also enjoyed their meals. Stopped here to have a quick bite after a 4 mile walk along the beach. Tookay's is a small deli in a shopping center near the pier. Needed some carbs! I first requested a scone that was listed on the menu, out of scones: OK. Next I asked for seminar, which was also listed on the menu, out of cinnamon rolls! OK. So I ordered a sesame bagel. I was delivered a poppyseed bagel that was toasted well done (hard like a hockey puck). When I mentioned I had ordered a sesame seed bagel the waitress told me that I was wrong, that I ordered poppyseed. ???!! Hmmmm. Since I was with two friends I did not wish to press the point further. This was not pleasant interaction for me. My friends's orders appeared to come out perfectly and they were satisfied. It's been a while since checking out Too Jays in Jupiter. I was visiting the area again and decided to give this long standing establishment a try. The folks were friendly, food was still good and from what I experience still has plenty of folks coming. The interior hasn't changed since I was there last with still plenty of booths and if you had a large party they could accommodate. I had the Too Jays regular sandwich on rye which was corned beef & pastrami combined. Meat was tender and the bread fresh. With a little mustard it was very good. My wife had the Reuben sandwich which looked good and my wife said was very good. We both had fries and they came out hot & had good flavor. So, in concluding if you're looking for a typical NY Deli sandwich it's not Carnegie Deli of the past but it is good. read more

My wife and I both started with a ball of matzo ball soup (it was a little chilly today) and while it was good , the size of the matzo ball itself was disappointing, very small. For mains , my wife had a Cobb salad and said it wasn't great ( dissspointimg amount of meat) I had the Toojay's Classic sandwich which is a combination of corned beef and pastrami on rye. While it was good, it wasn't great. A bit on the dry side. Maybe coming from NYC I'm a bit of a snob. Service was attentive. Solid 3 and ok if you're in the mood for some Jewish deli. read more

Lisa was our server and really added to the experience. Patient, kind and knowledgeable, she even took a group photo of the family get together. We all enjoyed our selections: TJ Classic, the Rachel, fish and chips and pastrami sandwich. Refreshing peach flavored ice tea was a hit as well. This is a staple lunch or light supper place for our extended family. For decades. Their matza ball soup or chicken noodle soup is like homemade . Sandwiches are huge with quality breads and meats. I've been going to TooJay's Deli since I was a kid, it often being a favorite of my ex-New-York relatives. This location has been in this plaza for a long time. I recently had 2 experiences here: 1- I ordered delivery from here and opted to get tubs of various prepared items: egg salad, chicken salad, potato salad. The description was a half pound tub, which I thought would be much larger for the price. However, when I called in to check, I was told the small tub was the right size. These along with a loaf of challah bread is a great meal for 2-3 people, but I would not order again due to the portion sizes. Not sure if this is standard or marked up for delivery. I did order a fruity salad that was quite good; I would definitely order this again. The potato pancakes were also a hit. 2- after eating acai bowls from Elements around the corner, was tantalized by the giant meat photos on the TooJays vans in the parking lot, so much that my in laws and I ordered delicious-sounding hot from the grill sandwiches to go. They ordered rubens, and I ordered the 'Beef Brisket Dip.' The description called to me: "lean brisket, caramelized onions & provolone, baked in a Challah hoagie & served with horseradish sauce & French onion au jus for dipping." This was my first time trying this, and it was pretty darn tasty. Dipping a sandwich is probably always a win! I did also take 2 knishes with me that were kind of dry and were not a hit. As a full-service restaurant / deli I give them props for adjusting to the new normal of high food costs, tight employment, and much less traffic in the anchor stores and malls where TJ typically locates. Their nearest store to us recently closed and on a visit to this location we noticed new menus with a number of "old favorites" no longer available. Our waiter confirmed he hears complaints daily about missing items. Obviously, those items didn't produce the needed volume and streamlining the kitchen operation is important in this "semi-quick" service restaurant. Our small group each ordered different style items; a hot turkey platter, a soup and sandwich, egg breakfast platter and a chopped salad. They all came out in a timely manner and everyone seemed pleased with their choices. The food may deserve four stars but I just can't get passed the ridiculous tie dye uniform shirts that servers are required to wear. Whoever picked these must still be trip'in from a 1968 concert by Simon & Garfunkel. Come on, this was the best looking sample material? Were these picked up at Goodwill in Woodstock? Honestly, they look like painting drop cloths. Burn these shirts ASAP. read more

I live right around the corner, and the food has always been consistently good. I usually only get lunch/sandwiches and/or deli, so can't really speak on dinner and entrees. But, the pastrami and corned beef sandwiches are great, Reuben with Russian dressing is tasty, tunas good, can't forget the matzoh ball soup, and the fries are amazing. For deli, the lox, chopped liver, and bagels are the best in the area; and love all their cream cheese flavors. The lox is extremely fresh, sliced well, and priced fairly imo. The only reason I took off a star is bc the people at the deli counter are hit or miss sometimes. I usually call in my order to pickup, and sometimes the person is really nice and good, and other times they don't listen to special requests, and rush you off the phone like they're doing you a favor. Especially the one guy at the deli counter with the dyed hair; his customer service skills definitely need to be improved, and usually has an attitude. All in all, it's a very solid restaurant for being a chain. It's surprising that the area doesn't have a better local, like family owned style deli. This place is still the best deli in the area, hands down. read more

everything started out good then the bill came we were charged for a drink we did not have. we mentioned this to our waitress she seemed confused on how she did that. we asked for it to be taken off she seemed annoyed that she had to do a void. when she returned with the updated bill she tossed the receipt at my husband. in my experience when a item is voided they usually show you that did not happen.
