Downtown Hardware lacks the wood floors and high ceilings that I remember from the hardware stores of my childhood, but it fills the bill with its inventory and its staff. Best of all, it's efficient. When I need something specific, I can walk into the store, tell the young staff what I need, and be out the door with my purchase in roughly the same time it would take me to park my car at that big-box home improvement store that often doesn't even stock whatever it is I was looking for. Yes, I'm a fan, and I hope that Downtown Hardware stays in business forever.

I was told that a new carb kit had been installed and that they were going to have to order other parts. I finally picked it up yesterday after receiving no updates. I took it to J&J Small Engine in Clinton, Tn. He fixed the problem in one day. He told me that no new parts had been installed on my generator, as I was told. If you want a single nut and bolt, they can probably help you out. But, they also sell higher quality large items that you cannot at Home Depot. For instance, the Stihl brand power tools and Big Green Egg cooking equipment. They also have higher quality wheelbarrows than Home Depot (at cheaper prices).
