I love it. Here's why: Yes, Toot's is one of those "wings" joints that seem to be a dime a dozen these days, but they really do offer much more than just your average wings. It's easily accessible on W Sam Ridley off of I-24 in Smyrna. And their wings are above average...but more on that later. The ambience is definitely less "sports bar" than the chain wings restaurant across the street, so if you are looking for a place to, say, watch Brock Lesner demolish his next prey in that UFC fight you can't wait to watch, I recommend sticking to said chain restaurant for the night. Still, Toots still has a fun, amusingly loud, hanging out kinda feel. There is plenty of flat screen TVs, and during football season, they get ALL the games. I would say it's perfect for both bringing your kids and having a fun family dinner out and also for sharing some pitchers of beer and rounds of appetizers with friends. Clearly, this place is not one of those "gourmet, chef-owned" restaurants, but it has something that some of those places don't always have--all of its many menu offerings are simply great. I frequent Toot's on a regular basis, and have had most of the items, among these, wings (of course), the Toots burger (incredible), grilled chicken sandwich, fried catfish, chicken tenders, ribs, crab legs, oysters (surprisingly fresh and flavorful, the bloody oil spill has since removed them from the menu)...you name it and I've really enjoyed it. Although I have never had a salad here (don't judge me), a friend of mine did and it actually managed to look yummy even beside my Saratoga chips. So that's a good sign. Price-wise, the value of what you get is GREAT at Toots! For those of us that like to wash our sorrows and/or food down with an alcoholic drink, they almost always have some type of drink special going on. They also always have one of their specialties on special on any given day of the week for really cheap (Mondays are 35 cent wings, Saturdays a whole rack of ribs for $9). And don't worry that most of the servers and hosts look too young to legally date, they always manage to provide great and quick service, probably because they haven't been burned by the business yet. Went to Toot's for an early dinner. First time and was completely unimpressed. Our waiter, Derek, obviously did not want to be there. We told him it was our first time and he made no effort to point out specials, suggestions or favorites. Just all around bad service. Not allowing substitutes, not refilling drinks, not bringing additional condiments. The kids were supposed to get ice cream with their meal. It never came. I have heard that Toots will do special things for their first time guests. If that was special, I would hate to see how the treat their regular customers. read more

More OK than A-OK - I am the only one in the family that somewhat enjoys going to Toot's...and I promise it has nothing to do with the waitress' short shorts and tight t-shirts - promise. I LOVE hot wings! I LOVE big ole burgers and fries! I LOVE ribs! I LOVE most anything deep-fried - don't believe me? - I'll send a picture. My wife enjoys a more subdued atmosphere, although Toot's isn't that loud. She doesn't like the distraction of all the TV's going at once. She really doesn't care for the waitress outfits (we have daughters). They do appeal to a younger demographic, but I think it is OK for the older generation to occasionally spike their hair, put on some skinny jeans, a concert T, red Chuck Taylors and eat here. Yep, that was me you were laughing at a few months back. I epitomized the phrase "Muffin Top" - thanks in part to aforementioned wings, burgers and fries, ribs and anything deep fried. They do have some good specials and - like the waitresses - the wings have different levels of hotness (wait, I said I didn't go for that reason). I came in tonight with my husband and family. We waited a bit for our food and when it arrived 3 of our 4 entrees were sent back because they were cold. My husband kept his tots to snack on. Took a while again for our remakes to come back out and when they did, my husband asked to order another side of tots. In the meantime, we realized that his remake was still cold. The "manager" then came to our table and instead of apologizing for most of our food having to be remade and/or asking us if everything was okay, proceeded to tell us that why they didn't bring out more tots was because we "ate the other ones". When we tried to explain that the "remake" was still cold and we ordered more tots not asked for free ones she got irritated and asked if we just wanted to take it off the check. We said no that we just wanted to order another side of tots. She tried to explain to us again why they weren't going to bring free tots. After explaining again that we weren't looking for anything for free, she tried to explain again why she didn't bring them. My husband just finally said, you know what, I don't want anything. She then stormed off obviously cussing us under her breath. The table next to us said, I'm not eavesdropping but she totally just knocked my chair as she rushed by! Really?! A while later another "manager" came by and simply asked if we were sure we didn't want anything taken off our check. We said no and she just handed us the ticket and walked off. There was no, "I'm sorry most of your tables food had to be remade; I'm sorry two of your remakes were still cold, I'm sorry our other "manager" stormed off cursing to the hostess stand to talk about you." Nothing. It was ridiculous. A side of tots cost you what, 50 cents? It's not about the 50 cents it cost you, we didn't want anything for free, we were willing to buy the extra side. Hospitality 101 would have been to send out a fresh whole new order. Then check back to make sure everything was okay. Cajun wings and mild buffalo wings are excellent, a good size and served fried but unbreaded with the wingtip attached. We stayed overnight in Smyrna, TN and took a chance on a local place on a busy Saturday night. It was crowded and very lively and well decorated, in a classic sports bar and grill theme but quite kid friendly. Our order was to-go and was prepared promptly, within about 10 minutes...quite an accomplishment considering how packed the place was. I saw from the menu they stuck in the bag that they have 3 locations...this one in Smyrna and the other two in Murfreesboro TN...all just south of Nashville. The restaurant also had a wonderful aroma of ribs and BBQ in addition to big sandwiches and mile high plates of chicken tenders from what I could see passing by the to-go counter. Great food. Fried pickles are awesome. We found a shrimp in our ranch but told our waitress (Ally who was great) and in less than a minute a manager was there to apologize. I had buffalo chicken plate. They were some of the best chicken fingers I've eaten!! My husband had ribs and they were delicious and very tender. My son and I stopped by for lunch. This place is one of my favorites. They live up to their motto of "Good Food & Fun". We got here a little early to beat the lunch rush. They get extremely busy at regular lunch and dinner times. Our server Nicole was very attentive and checked on us regularly. The food came quickly and just as ordered. Atmosphere is a bit noisy. Food was okay but greasy. We were given a table for four when we had five in our party... not so good. Server not so attentive. I ordered the roll ups and considering their whole menu is fried food I figured this was the closest thing to healthy as I could get. Rollups tasted ok but they were so greasy they fell apart. I would really give this place 2 1/2 stars if I could. Ordered a cheese burger with bacon and curly fries on the side. Im not a burger person, but it was okay. I also ordered a side of wings (5 piece). Blah, it was ok but not the greatest. It's a smaller version of a Buffalo Wild Wings. Customer service was good and the prices were reasonable. I usually go to Toots every Wednesday for lunch. Menu: Toots has plenty of selections to choose from to include daily specials. Portions: Everything Toots serves is very generous as far as paying for what you get. Food Quality: If you are not picky about frozen food as opposed to fresh, toots is the place to be for the frozen food is obvious only to the food connoisseurs. If you are not then I promise you that you will never notice the difference. I can tell you this though, if you order a hamburger you will get fresh beef and a very good size delicious burger with curly fries or onion rings, whatever you decide. Service: Hit and miss which is why I give toots a 3-star rating. Being a regular on a weekly basis more times than not the service is slooooow, but that is not the fault of the cooks, I have watched my plate sit under the heat lamp for up to 10 maybe even 15 minutes before it is brought out to me, needless to say, cold. Toots has some very good service waitresses during the lunch crowd but for the most part, I have had the liberty of being served by the lackadaisical bunch. With that said, if you work at toots and know who I am, if I only tip you 3 dollars then you know that what I wrote pertains to you, if you are one of the girls that I tip 5 or better, than pat yourself on the back, great service does not go unnoticed by me and as far as the 3 dollar tip goes, pat yourself on the back too because I personally feel you made 2.00 over your actual worth!!! read more

Toots has quickly become a favorite for me and my family. The food is reliable and consistently good. It is a "wing joint" and if you know that going in you will be happy with your dining experience. This was my first time to ever visit a Toots. The interior is funky, fun and unique which gives it a lot of personality. It would be a great place for a group. Our service was quick, friendly, and efficient. Everything seemed clean and comfortable. I had the pork sliders with fries. I am a huge pulled pork lover and I have tried a lot of pork at BBQ places all over the US. That's probably why the pulled pork was just ok to me. It was juicy and tender but obviously made in an oven. It didn't have much flavor. There was only a tiny bit of the sauce on the sliders and the sauce was just ok. I have going to this Toot's since they opened. Recently the quality of the food has declined and the time to get it increased The size of the wings range from pigeon wings to full size so you don't know how many to order. It took over 25 minutes to get it. 2 other tables sat down and we're eating before we got our food. Cold fries, bland burger, and greasy wings were the result of our patience. My first time at Toot's but definitely won't be my last. My mother received excellent service from Jacie! I got the chicken finger basket with a side of curly fries. The chicken was perfectly moist and the fries were seasoned to a nice amount not too overwhelming. My mom got the shrimp basket with broccoli. Spent 3 days a week in here for the last 3 months all of a sudden they start charging for this and that onions jalapeños etc. we have spent thousands here and never been charged for Jalapeños on a burger but guess new rules . Our overall experience was very bad. The hostess did not walk us to our table, instead instructed us on where our table was located and we had to seat ourselves. The waiter was great but it was very busy. Our waiter mixed up our bill with another table's bill and we ended up paying for someone else's bill. The manager blamed this mistake on the computer system. We were not mad at our waiter but the fact the manager lied about the situation and then he came over to the table and didn't even want to show us the difference of what our bill was and what we paid. He said it was a 20 cent difference. We had to ask for a receipt but it was not what we asked for. We waited a while for the whole situation to be sorted and then got irritated and left. We had seen this place pop up every time we look for food and finally decided to try it out. Our wait time was very short at 7:30pm on a Monday night which is their wing night which was a nice surprise. We got the three item sampler appetizer and got the fried pickles, hot chicken tenders, and mini corn dogs. The fried pickles were cold and one of our chicken tenders had a hair in it and the mini Corn dogs were pretty good. We both got burgers which were very well done and my wife got fries and I got onion rings. Everything was extra greasy and just mediocre in flavor. Our service was the best pet of our night here and that is what gave this place the 2 stars. Consumer alert: I went to Toots for the first time while traveling. I had a couple drinks , an App, and salad. First. Food was good . Drinks , here is where I say be careful.... I ordered a makers mark neat. Not a simpler drink on the planet . Easier than tap beer, and at 10 a drink roughly , big profit margin. The issue : The makers mark ran dry halfway though. I saw the bartender grab early times (pretty sure that was it) and complete the drink..... WTF I asked the server what she added to my makers mark, she said her back up bottle of makers mark... now. Anyone who knows me knows that was a really bad response to give me. I look over the bar (the pour was directly in front of me) and I look for the red wax bottle in case I was incorrect and make an ass of myself. Low and behold , no Makers Mark. When she brings the bill, I ask her again , where is the makers mark below . She has an oh crap look and says she poured the other(early times, aka well, aka crap) in with the makers mark because management said to do so vs going to get the fresh bottle of makers mark ?which she got after trying to deceive the customer ). She asked if giving me another shot of what I asked for and paid for would make me happy and really trying not to make a huge deal, said yes. I have heard of bars filling high end with low end, but never witnessed it and ignorance is bliss. Being lied to my face when I called it out initially really got me , thus this post.
