Worst haircut of my life, I communicated what I wanted clearly, a simple fade. When I looked in the mirror I thought it was a prank, was waiting for cameras to come out of nowhere- alas I realized it was no prank. Barber was digging into my skin so badly. This is the only time I was afraid for my life when a barber had a razor. Barber was in such a rush as if he needed to go potty. I showed no attitude, as this is what I get for cheating on my normal barber. I won't embarrass myself by adding photos, just know that I'm not that picky, I had gotten a haircut from a drunk barber one time and it was great. This review is for the Asian lady usually stationed at the back. I believe her name is Jennifer. Avoid her at all costs. She does not seem to get the concept of "not too short" and "just a trim". Top Barber has a barber pole outside ....so you know they are good for my business man's haircut. And at $14, it was a great deal. I think a Vietnamese couple runs it. They are very sweet. I brought my grandson in, and Mrs. Top Barber hustled me into getting a cut, too. I felt like it was an Italian home where if you refuse twice, you insult the cook. Ha! I love these places. This place is a hidden gem for haircuts. I didn't even know about this place until I needed a hair cut ASAP for a wedding and most places were closed at 6pm or either booked on Friday's. Ever since then I have been coming back. Service: I have tried almost every barber there and everyone is up to par with their standard skills. I would recommend explaining a style you want or having a save photo similar to that particular style. It works for me every time. So far the BEST BARBER there: Anthony Ho! Great guy, really nice, and he's pretty good with the blade when giving clean shaves. I have really straight hair for a guy but this dude is spot on for my hair. Ask for him! I just left the barbershop and realized I was charged $20 for a "regular cut" when it says $15 on the pricing chart. Also when I was asked I said just a regular cut no razor. My barber did it anyways and lined my beard up and I guess she saw that. I specifically said no Thankyou when he offered. So that's why I was charged $20. Not including the tip. I always bring $30 and the extra is for the barber. I remember seeing it was $15, and I come here once a month. I used to pay $18 and a tip directly to my barber and not the cashier lady. I get my hair cut here every 3 weeks or so and I only go to Kevin which has done a great job cutting my hair however the guy in the front desk is absolutely rude, horrible and incompetent. I was the first customer today and he wasn't there. He arrived as I was almost done and he demanded my phone number. Finally found a barber in my hometown that is quick and pretty cheap! I used to go all the way to lomita to get my cut but wanted something closer and this showed up on yelp. I gave it a shot and came in on a Tuesday afternoon around 3pm. The line was short and there were multiple barbers working so it made things go pretty quickly. Gave my cut that I wanted and the barber did it quickly and pretty efficiently. Cost was around $11 but make sure to tip as they work fast and hard. Bear in mind weekdays are easier to get in as I heard weekends usually need a appointment but it never hurts to ask as I did and the wait wasn't long! read more

Came here for a haircut when my regular barber wasn't unavailable. Never again. This was the worst haircut of my life. Completely quick, rushed haircut and the most embarrassing attempt at a fade I've ever seen. The barber Danny is a fine person, and he did a pleasant job on my hair. Reason for 3-stars is the long ass wait. 1) The wait list is absolutely useless. The lady that uses it to determine who goes next doesn't know how to use it herself. She told a father and his son that they are next after my haircut is finished. Then when I got up, she tell them that this other dude was next and that they are AFTER him. 2) The wait list asks for your name and phone number, but the phone number is absolutely useless. They won't call you if you are not there, so there's no point. 3) No app't. So if you don't want to wait 90 minutes for your haircut, either go on a weekday or go right when they open on a weekend. Otherwise, just go to a different barbershop. read more

I was greeted by the lady in the front, she was super efficient and had me sign up and sit in a chair outside. The place was busy, but I only waited 5 minutes or so. (No mask required!) Kevin knew exactly what to do with my crazy hair & didn't give me the "chipmunk" cookie cutter do. Then he asked "Do you want your beard look better?" How can I say no to that?! That's when the fun starts.. he put a pillow behind my head, reclined the chair, popped my feet up recliner style - wrapped my head in a hot towel....and went to town cleaning up my beard.. including neck massage, straight razor shave, even touched up my ear lobes, uni-brow, etc. He did this with zeal - I came out looking and feeling great. I like this place. You get a good cut for cheap $12. I also really like their hot steam towel razor shave. I feel pampered when I get it, they take their time and you end up getting the perfect shave with hydrated skin. They even throw in a nice little shoulder and neck massage to end it. Sometimes I leave with tiny nicks and scratches on my face and scalp, from the haircut and shave alike. They heal within a couple of days so I'm not tripping. I've also gotten a few haircuts where they leave too much on the top. The key to a good haircut in my opinion is the transition from the sides to the top, and on a couple of occasions I've left with a mop top as I like to call it. Eventually, however, the sides grow in and I look pretty good. I prefer my hair long anyway. I keep going back so that is enough to show you I like the place. It is a nice location in Old Torrance.
