Best neighborhood Chinese spot in fort Washington area. I've been going here for over 15 years. Feels like family.

General Tso's Chicken
Brad M.

I had family visiting so I ordered us all Chinese and had it delivered right through the Yelp app. Seamless transaction, an even faster delivery, completed with a text notification indicating pick up and drop off at my doorstep. Which is a nice feature. Navigating the menu, via the phone was a bit cumbersome, there's no way to search for specific dishes so when someone said they wanted it's orange chicken and i scrolled through for what felt like hours upon hours to find orange chicken. As for the food, we had wonton soup, (they charge an extra $1.00 for the chips that go into the soup here, that was eye opening), egg rolls, lo mein, general tsos, orange chicken and beef with broccoli. All of it tasted great, no complaints here. Like most Chinese restaurants, the dishes were smothered in sauce, which, if that's your thing then you're in luck because they love to make sure you have enough taste to go with you dish. I did request that my dishes come spicy, but unfortunately they didn't have any kick to them. I'll definitely eat here again.

Beef with Garlic Sauce

I ordered through Uber Eats and unlike most restaurants who send mediocrity through delivery Top China sent delicious garlic beef and beef with green beans and dumplings. Generous portions too. I rarely give reviews but this restaurant deserves it.

Shrimp Lo Mein, And Orange Chicken. Some regular white rice, and Pork Fried Rice.
Teresa O.

Back again for my Chinese Food cravings. I just REALLY LOVE this place. This time I'm trying the Orange Chicken and Pork Fried Rice. Got my "usual" favorite Lo Mein . Next time I'm gonna try their Singapore noodles.

Plenty of shrimp underneath Lacked flavor and needed more seasoning

I happen to stop here before heading back to DC for lunch. I was craving Chinese carryout .... Something quick and simple ....like Chicken Waangs & Mumbo sauce. Yes, don't judge...Lol. This is something you know you can just about find a dime or dozen...on every block at various carryouts in DC, but I noticed that Chinese carryouts are definitely far and few in the Fort Washington area. So...Thank goodness I found this place before heading back home. It is located in a shopping center off of Route 210 & Old Ft Road. Although, not much to look at on the outside or inside, this place is legit. The food is the bomb and hellacious!! I walked in and was greeted by a lady behind a plexiglass counter and asked if they had "Waangs and Mumbo Sauce" of course they did not. I almost started to turn away and leave, but so glad I didn't. Instead, I asked about popular dishes that they were known for and she mentioned the salt and pepper shrimp was popular, the egg foo young, and typical dishes like chicken with broccoli and combo lo mein. So I decided to order the salt and pepper shrimp, combination, egg, foo, young and a general Tso chicken. The order was prepared relatively fast and well packed for my long drive back to DC. WELL....Let me just say this right now..... I knew the food was going to be bangin' (good) just from the smells alone coming from the bag before I even left the store. The smells and aroma of garlic, salt, spices, gravy and peppers....were screaming through the bag! I couldn't wait to get home. Each dish was well prepared, fresh and super-seasoned! I was quite surprised both by the layers of flavors in each dish. The food even remained hot and most of the fried items remained crispy...not soggy or mushy. I must say I did not expect much from this restaurant at the time of ordering, but they proved me wrong. I thoroughly enjoyed everything. In all, Asian Star gets "Two Thumbs Up!" from me! They offer a large menu selection of items including appetizers, noodle/rice dishes, vegetarian options and chef's specials. Given the customer service, large menu selection, price point and taste of their eats.... You can't go wrong with this place. It rivals any popular DC carryout any day.....hands down!! I definitely recommend this place and will be back when in the area!

The chicken with broccoli was solid- chicken was tender and perfectly cooked. Tofu with vegetables was fine, as was the mushroom with pea pods, but would probably get something different next time. The fried rice add on was definitely not worth getting.

I was driving by and said to myself let me give this place a try. I ordered the triple delight it's supposed to have chicken shrimp beef. I felt like I was eating a frozen entree from the grocery store to be honest . First off my food was ready in less than five minutes. How can you cook shrimp chicken and beef in less than five minutes then the veggies um pretty sure there was something in there that I couldn't identify . Also they didn't ask me did I want any kind of sauce they just handed me a bag sealed and yelled my order number out and I figure it's pretty standard to get soy sauce and utensils atleast well not here buddy. I don't know but I just feel cheated and also I have had really bad gas since eating here like literally just laying In bed farting. So no I will never eat here again . I'm pretty sure Hong Kong has no affiliation with this carry out because it's terrible. I wouldn't order from here again with so many other carry out options . Plus it was almost 16 dollars and I get it I ordered a triple delight but bruh my meal was a triple fright -gas -no sauce-utensils-napkins -barely any meat but hey you live and you learn smh

We came here for an early lunch, and we ordered: +Crab Rangoon - triangular-shaped, generously filled with the cream cheese/crab mixture; could have been a bit more crispy, as it was slightly chewy; the sweet & sour dipping sauce was a great complement +Chow Fun - we opted for the beef as a protein; the noodles were extremely wide, which was great; you can kick it up with chili oil and soy sauce; beef were plentiful +Mongolian Beef - lots of onions and scallions, this had a good flavor; you can add more of a saltiness to it with soy sauce This is definitely a family-run and -operated eatery, as the youngest son was taking orders and manning the register; all orders were made-to-order, so what you will be receiving will be super fresh! The owners were very kind, friendly, and attentive! There were a couple of tables inside, so we chose to dine in. Everything tasted fresh, not at all salty, and prepared with care and love. This is a family-run restaurant and it was great to see that they had their very young son manning the counter and the cash register in a totally professional way. The menu is straight-forward with the usual and expected dishes. One dish I did not expect to see, but did, were hush puppies! Everything we ordered for takeout was excellent. Portions are generous and inexpensive. Note: there are two tables in the restaurant if you prefer to dine in. We ordered egg drop soup, crispy pork wontons, Mongolian Chicken and Mongolian Beef. The egg drop soup was better than your typical egg drop soup, with a flavorful broth and silky but still hearty texture. The wontons were packed with pork and came with a tasty bright red dipping sauce that complimented the wontons nicely. The Mongolian Beef and Mongolian Chicken are the same dish, with the only difference being the meat. These dishes were very well prepared with just the right amount of onion, scallion and sauce. The beef had a delicious slightly smoky flavor and was cut into nicely shaped pieces. The Mongolian dishes automatically come with white rice. Speaking of the rice, it had a great texture and just the right amount of moisture. Take out orders may take up to a half hour for them to be prepared, but it is well worth the wait. We will be back.

To my surprise, everything was delicious. The portions were large for the prices. Gen. Toi was well seasoned and slightly crunchy like I like it. It's sauce was genuine. It gets an "E" for excellent! The soup gets an "E" too. They used a chicken stock, not broth. Cooks know the difference and I am a cook. The dumplings were fried well, brown on one side and the pork filling was delicious. The pork fried frice was delicious. The rice was properly cooked with onions, bean sprouts, and fried egg. They made it the original way, no short cuts. The scallion patties were new to me. It was a little greasy and could have used a little seasoning. I heated them in the microwave on a paper towel and seasoned them with a little salt, pepper, garlic, and onion powder.
