UPDATE - I spoke with someone on the phone and explained my experience. They asked for a photo which I shared. I was offered for the services to be redone free of charge, I declined. They agreed to a full refund. The person on the phone spoke with everyone to find out exactly who serviced me as I could not remember their name. From what I heard I have faith that the service I received is not a representation of the shop or owner. The full refund was offered prior to the owner seeing my original yelp review, to me that means they are genuine. I was in the area for a few hours and against my better judgment I decided to try this shop. First of all the person who did my pedicure pulled my cuticle and it made me bleed which is extremely stressful, because I am terrified of getting an infection. When I said she hurt me she insisted it was fine. It was sore for 2 days, I had to put rubbing alcohol and ointment on it. I have never had an ingrown nail or any other foot problems so this was completely unexpected. I got my pedicure Monday afternoon, it is now Thursday and the polish is missing from an entire toe. I paid for gel polish, so I don't even know how this is possible. I called to speak with a manager or the owner and I was asked to call back because no one is available. I paid $59 plus a $10 tip and I am extremely dissatisfied. I didn't even like my pedicure, but I was the only Black person in that shop so I felt obligated to tip. She painted the nails like a toddler and she hurt me. When it came time to pay I was informed I could not tip on the card. This should have been explained before service, because I said I have never been here before when I walked in. I went to Walgreens for cash back for a subpar service. read more

When I first walked in I showed them the photo of the style I wanted. They assured me they could do it... when the time came to start on the style, the woman tried to tell me that the style was just the paint color when you can clearly see that it is a 3D design! Then her and her coworker tried to gaslight me into thinking it's just the polish color & not 3D like I'm an idiot. You can clearly see that it's not a flat design... then I get told they don't have the correct materials to do the style. Absolutely pissed me off... I ended up just getting a constellation type of design & honestly it looks cheaply done but I had already been there for so long I didn't even care anymore. I just wanted to go home... I wish salons would actually be honest about what they can and can't do when it comes to designs and not just take people in because they want their money. It's so disrespectful!!! read more

There was a major language barrier, which made communication very difficult. The nail technician spent more time talking than focusing on her work, and the quality of the nails showed that. I have been coming to this nail salon for over 15 years, but after today I seriously question if I will return. The service has always been rushed, which I tolerated out of loyalty. However, the way my mom was treated today was unacceptable. It was very clear the technician did not want to do her service. She handled her nails carelessly, cut her cuticles roughly, and cut her nails extremely short without asking how she wanted them. She then rushed through the entire process, and the polish application was sloppy with no attention to detail. No paying customer should be treated like a burden. This was disrespectful, unprofessional, and very disappointing--especially as a long-time client bringing a family member for the first time. Management needs to address both the attitude and the quality of service because this experience was not okay. read more

Went in for my usual builder gel manicure but because my regular technician Nikki is not there I was helped by Cindy. When filing my previous product off , the drill kept burning my nails so I asked if there was another way she can remove the product. I know from prior experience that the product can be soaked off, but she said no ...so I stuck with it as best as I could. There were several things that Cindy did not do that My other technician normally does, such as dehydrate the nail before applying product , clean my hands or have me wash my hands after she has filed because of all the dust residue still left behind, as well not applying cuticle oil after. I knew my experience wasn't going to be good because of all these missed things. When I got home, the polish had bubbled and was super lumpy. Additionally the sides of my nails weren't even painted or perhaps when she had filed them , after painting, she had filed the paint off. either way they looked awful. I called the 4 hours after my service to ask for a refund because I knew I wasn't going to be able to get back in there for at least another couple weeks. The receptionist was really nice and asked me to send pictures to the number that I normally Zelle, which I did that same day. I never got a response back so I called 2 days later because the receptionist told me the manager would be in that Tuesday. The receptionist said she would have to speak to her manager and that they would get back to me, but they never did so another two days later I called back again asking for a refund on the builder gel manicure. I was told that I could come back and they would do the service all over again at no charge. I informed her that I was unable to return and had already taken the product off myself because it was so bad. I again asked for a refund at which point the receptionist , after having gone back-and-forth with her manager, said that I would receive the refund that same day. I thanked them for their understanding and figured it was all straightened out. It is now a week later after my first complaint and still no refund. That's why I've decided to post this review. Terrible service and lied about giving me my money back. UPDATE: finally received my refund after having posted this review. Not sure if I'll be returning to JK until at least Nikki is back. read more

Just got my toes done and the nail polish fell off one of my toes honestly sucks for 65 dollars that i was charged im not happy also my sister got her nails done and they put a new girl because she did not do them correctly and was in my opinion over charged for a small set first the lady said i charge 55 dollars ended up charging 65 ..... She introduced me to a new (to me) way of doing no color dip powder nails with the gel polish over it. I ended up loving my nails and have gotten so many compliments on how pretty they look! I had stopped doing just gel because they would start to peel after a week and this technique she used has kept them looking perfect! Thank you Cindy! Honestly for the work they do and charge does not even out was my first and last time here seems like the manicurist was in a rush because her next client was there for an appointment. My nails are uneven file "almond" shaped looking very very unevenly filed more to one side than the other leaving the skin from your finger very exposed as if it's a cat nail . There was such a rush as she kept throwing my hands down when she was done glueing and filing as she's doing it for free. The condition of the polish was dry and she kept shaking it to make it come out . At the end of the service she wanted to initiate conversation standing right in front of me to forcefully tip her . I'm super satisfied with the service i've received here. Jasmine initially recommended i try bio gel because i had a desire to grow out my natural nails and she was sooo right. it's been the best alternative to builder gel since its not as bulky but still adds a protective layer to my nails so they don't chip or break. the Bio gel has helped me grow out my nails and it lasts forever in between appointments. I requested a cat eye style in April which Justin did a great job with and i was really happy with them. they went on to last a complete 4 weeks(to the day) before i was able to come in for a change in shape and color. Jasmine changed out my cateye color for a really pretty and clean ombré. the only downside i would say is that, from my understanding, a manicure (cuticle cleaning, hand massage, etc.) is not included in pricing if you're getting any nail enhancements. having been to other salons, this unfortunately seems to be the new standard and they're upfront about it not being included so i appreciate that. Bottom line is i've been here a handful of times and have had great, quick, and friendly service. no complaints here! (: read more

This place has a lot of work to do. They usually have a lot of people ready to service your nails/toes. I usually just went with whoever was available since I'm always on the run and usually don't plan my pedicures, I just go when I have the time so I didn't have a go to person. But the last time I was here one of the ladies messed up my toe really bad. My toe was swollen and purple. It doesn't seem like they clean their tools. One time I did ask if the tools being used were clean and the lady didn't like me asking. She seemed very upset. I would try and stay away from this place. Kenny was exceptional and very great at nail techniques. I was in search of SILK WRAP to protect my natural nails, and unfortunately the Nail Industry retired that technique. So Kenny kindly explained the new version of Silk Wrap called the Organic nail wrap technique. He begun treating my nails (FULL SET) w/gel nail color, and OH MY GOD how beautiful, semetric & shiny they came out. I haven't loved my full set nails like this from ANY shop in a very long time. Kenny's talent is a game charger, the man knows his stuff, he's fast, precised & down to earth. I recommend my Mother to get her nails corrected by Kenny, since she went to another nail shop a day prior, who not only did a terrible job on her nails, but that shop charged too much. Its infected i left the salon with a bleeding toe and they just brushed it off and said itll go away in a few minutes.
