Place was clean and nail techs were nice. I didnt like the way my nails came out. They did a decent job on the design but the overall shape of the nails was just not how I like it. Staff was pretty aggressive and seemed rushed when trying to get the nails completed prior to the paint and design. I might give them one more try maybe I just didnt have the right person. I wanted to like this place, I needed a new nail salon. It's cute, full bar and spacious with plenty of operators. I got a luxury pedicure and a full set of coffin nails. Half way through I noticed almost EVERY operator was coughing or sneezing, They charged me $177 plus tip, expensive but what could I do? The no chip on my toes chipped, my nails broke the next day but the worst part? Woke up 3 days later with swine flu!!! I gave it to my entire family right before Christmas. We are all so sick. My little one and I had to go to the ER last night w 104 temperatures, $550 for co-ins deductibles, head aches, body aches, sweats and chills. I have never felt this bad in my life. The salon is nice and aesthetically pleasing. However, we need to know who is their ace tech is. They have many techs and the quality of work is not equal among them. The tech who did my pedicure, Kylie, did an amazing job on my no chip and cuticles. The attention to detail was there. My fiancé's tech left him about the same condition as he came in, if not worse. They did a lot of cuticle cutting but didn't even him out. Did not ask if he wanted the in grown nail to be put out and did it anyways. This was his first time going with me to get our nails done and since he had a bad experience he is not coming back with me again. He complained about the pain for weeks. :/ Tim did my nails. Originally I made an appointment for mani and pedis. He didn't ask about the cuticles and proceeded with just doing the extra dip nail request I made while in the salon. My goal was get rid of my crust nails and came back with the crust. My nails were not evenly rounded, but painted evenly. First time there for a pedicure. Walked in and it was sorta hot in there but chose to stay. The guy who did my pedicure showed me a menu and asked which one and he kept pointing to the most expensive ones. I kept saying "standard please". He also asked me on two occasions if I want a manicure too. I said no thanks both times. After he was done I still had dry skin on my toes that clearly weren't buffed out and nail polish spots on my skin. He didn't even get polish on the whole nail. While i was drying he went over to a pedicure chair and fell asleep. I went over to the front desk and asked for someone to get the polish off my skin. They woke the guy up. He removed most of the polish off my skin. I won't go here again. One of the worst pedicures I've had. I didn't appreciate him trying to up-sell me & the pedi wasn't good. read more

came in just to get the gel polish they had done for me, lasted about 2.5 weeks. was charged a total of $35 for gel removal and what they called a manicure which was just cutting my nails. very upset and disappointed since they didn't pay attention to cuticle removal if they were going to call that a manicure and charge me for it, and there was STILL gel glue left on all of my nails. read more

I've been going here for the last 2 years and have been extremely happy. Everyone is super friendly and service is phenomenal, until recently. I went on Friday and got dip powder, which I liked until I got home. That evening when I went to bed my nails were glowing in the dark, something I've never had and did not request. I went the following day and discussed my situation which I was immediately lead to a nail technician. I picked my color and since it was a lighter color the technician told me the same glow would be noticeable She told me to pick a darker color which I did. She removed the top layer of the present color and painted over the old color with the new color. I was content until I got home at night and once again my nails were glowing in the dark. I'm very upset and will no longer go back if I'm paying and not getting the service I asked for. read more

So me and my boyfriend went and got pedicures i got not chip on my toes and he kept getting pressured into getting color on his toes.... I kept sayin no cuz his facial expressions weren't happy but he ended up saying fine because she wouldnt stop insisting he get "no chip on your toes" and also he got a manicure and i got a full set. Mind you i've been going here since they opened!! The service has gotten so bad along with prices and quality. The pedicures were nice but my toes were not fully painted! The corners of them hand no polish..... then when it came to my nails..... probably the second worst set of nails i've ever gotten in my life. The tips are smaller than my nails, all the sides of them are so thin and don't even get me started on the designs. There supposed to be cute little barbed wire but they just look like blobs. I've done a few sets of acyrlics and did better than what i got done. The lady that did them was just rushing to get me out of the chair. Didn't even touch my cuticles and left acrylic and glue all over my fingers!!!! For 2 tropical pedicures a simple manicure and full set with simple designs came out to $365 including a pretty decent tip that should have been wayyyy less. For those prices may as well go to a much better high end salon that will actually DO GOOD AND MAKE IT WORTH THE MONEY!! AVA Nail Bar in Schaumburg is that place!! I see Tracy Ly - she is amazing for my acrylic stiletto nails + no chip and pedicures. I followed her here from another place; I've been seeing her for years! I am very picky about my nail shape and length and she nails it every time (haha). When I'm there I see a lot of pretty nails coming and going in all different shapes: coffin, oval, stiletto, crazy nail designs and conservative so it seems like no matter what your style is, you'll like it. Came in for a dip manicure and pedicure. The pedicure was good, although the polish application could have been better. My gel nails had completely peeled off in less then a week :( Tracy was my technician, and right off the bat she's trying to persuade me to get dip, but I'm already paying 40$ for gel, so I was not interested in more of a price increase at that time. she continued and continued and continued about it. fine whatever. I left with gel, and 3 days later it peels clean off :( I called back and they offered to fix the ones that peeled, which was wonderful. Got 3 fixed, then later that week more peeled off, including the just fixed ones. Now at this point I just want a credit, refund, or something for how I'm left with 3 nails within 2 weeks. They wanted me to come back to fix, so fine, last time. The manager Nick was sooo nice in that he offered to completely remove the little rest of the gel and put on a new set of gel for free! Tracy spoke to the manager and insisted on me doing dip again. Nick translated and said "She wants to dip, so we can do it at no charge!" which wow that's wonderful! But she shook her head & and told me I still have to pay a good amount for the dip.... but she wants me to do that instead. for the higher prices, claiming they all do over the top nail art, I wanted to try.... Not! the technician was nice... that's about it... but clearly new at doing nails or not enough experience. i told her i don't like this gel, i got thick gel.. i told her one color got another color, with 3 plus layers ugh!!!!.. i showed her a picture of what i wanted with a 'gold' shade, they claim and insisted it was 'silver' and that is what they gave me. i told them 'i don't want silver' even if you think it's silver, i think it's gold... so that means i want gold... whatever... wasted my time ... for all the hype thinking finally a place with over the top nail art and technicians that know what they're doing NOT!!!!!! They just opened so I take that into consideration. Hopefully they get the kinks out soon. But service so far is not good. The first time I went I had a mani pedi. The tech who did my pedi was very rough. The tech who did my nails continually got up and went to provide service to other clients and left me waiting for my manicure to be completed. The next time I went in the pedicure was much better. The tech did a good job. However, the tech who did my manicure was the same tech as the previous time. She kept messing up the design on my nails and kept starting over. She kept telling me to do a different design and I kept asking for the design I chose. Then she told me that by that time of night she's tired and I should make my appointment earlier in the day so I can get better service. The nail design I ended up with wasn't like the design I asked for. Not colors or anything. Then again, most of these nail salons seem much more interested in getting customers in and out the door - and less interested in providing good service. read more
