The price is too much for a combo, or even just the burger alone for the flavor. I mean, I ordered the cheeseburger combo (added bacon) and the total was almost $17. I feel like it smells great but there's just not enough flavor in the burger, like, at all. The fries could be better too, they don't really seem to have much flavor, I don't even think they're salted. The interior is nice, and it has a good vibe going on. Last time I passed by the curbside / outside ordering wasn't working yet, not sure if they work now. I placed my order online so I didn't really have to talk to the employees other than just asking them if my meal was ready. I'm not a fan of fast food burgers and usually try to look for actual burger places but I think I'd consider a drive-thru burger before coming back tbh. :/ it was okay, but not really worth the price for the portions read more

We had such high hopes for this new burger joint in the area, but every single item we tried was disgusting or sub par. Cheeseburger was plain and cold. Top Pick burger was a hot mess, literally oozing from sauce only. We asked for veggies on it and got nothing but a thin cold pattie and a bucket of sauce. Fries cold and bland. Mashed potatoes clearly a dry instant mix with way too much salt. Kids corn dog cold and bland. Tea tasted days old and it was clear the container hadn't been cleaned. We went on Sunday, March 26th, but I didn't have time to write a review until now. Good thing I clearly remember our visit - it was that great! There was a line outside & the manager was manning the door. Line moved pretty quickly. Then we waited in the inside line which also moved well and there are menus on the walls so you can decide what to eat. There's a window shortly before you order where you can see them flame grilling the burgers! It looked & smelled delicious! We ordered burgers, tater tots, and a cherry pie. The burgers tasted grilled and were delicious! The tater tots were perfectly cooked & fell apart in your mouth. I haven't had them that way before & they were delightful! The cherry pie was a treat that I don't usually get, and I'm so glad I did - so yummy! There were friendly folks coming around to clear trays and make sure everything was great. It was, but I think if something was wrong & we told them, they would have made it right. Such a wonderful visit! We live in cedar park, but plan to go back as much as we can! Loved it!!! read more

This place is great. I feel like they are underrated. I love the original too, and feel like this place had a lot unfavorable comparisons to the original when they first opened. But now that they've been opened for a little bit, I feel like the food has gotten better and better each time. Their burgers are great. My family and I ordered online. When my husband returned home from picking up our order, my burger was completely wrong and my lemonade tasted like water. When going to pick up an order that you placed and reviewed for accuracy online, you expect things to be correct. Had not been to Top Notch in years since it was kind of far from where I live and work but the Hutto location is much closer so I decided to pay a visit. First, the burger, it didn't really have much of the charcoal grilled taste you get when grilling at home but it was decent. The burger itself is a bit smaller than a whataburger but slightly bigger than P.Terry's. I ordered mine with mustand, don't like mayo on my burger. The star of the meal were the onions rings, some of the best rings I've had. Lightly breaded and thick cut onions, delicious. The drinks are also top notch serving maine root sodas, didn't try the tea so not sure if it's good. I think they could benefit from setting up a second fountain drink station since it gets crowded and you feel like you have to rush plus the condiment station is right next to it so you're kind bumping to other people. Overall is OK, the price is higher than what you would pay for a Whataburger meal or most other fast food places. I feel you are also paying for location, it's in a prime spot, nice view of the water fountain and splash pad park. read more

Went here with the family last night and we all got chicken it was absolutely delicious! I had the onion rings and absolutely loved them. My son got okra it was really good as well. The patio was full this time so we ate inside. After our meals we got dessert my son and I had a small chocolate milk shake and they were so delicious! Top Notch Food, Service, and atmosphere. Visited the second day they were opened and just a few days after that as well. My first visit was also my first time ever going to a Top Notch location. Met one of the owners and he noticed that my table was quite confused of what we had and he was welling to make sure we were satisfied. I had gotten the Cheeseburger to start as a guideline of how the food would be. The burger was extremely tasty with a hint of charcoal smell and taste. The portions were good and not too pricey. The Special sauce looks like ketchup but is flavorful of a hint of BBQ and Ketchup, unlike something like Big Mac sauce. On my second visit the I had to try the chicken meal as I heard others around me saying how good the chicken was. Yeah, the chicken tenders and bone-in chicken was Top Notch and one of the best chicken spots in Hutto. The Onion rings and Fried Okra are also worth getting. The atmosphere is wonderful and if Top Notch is anything to make of the "Co-op" Space in downtown Hutto then the people of Hutto are in for a treat. Next time, one of the seafood meals. read more

I went in 2 weeks ago and had a burger and fries and couldn't eat it all. Burger was cold , cheese wasn't melted. I knew something wasn't right when my order was ready before I even sat down. The meat tasted like frozen soy burger. Today I went back for a 2nd run and was relieved when I saw that they served fried chicken ! So I ordered the chicken with onion rings on the side. The chicken was ok but way over cooked and the onion rings were like trying to eat glass.. the inside of my mouth is tore up ! WHAT'S UP Top Notch ? FIX the problem please ! An Austin legend, but as far as the Hutto location...meh. The cheeseburger is basically a "whopper". Maybe a little smaller, but very similar. Nice, charbroiled taste with good, fresh veggies. It was good, but nothing particularly special. The Top Pick burger, with hickory sauce and onions, was so smothered with sauce that you couldn't taste the onions or the char-broiled taste of the patty. Even the (not very picky) dog turned up it's nose at the ratio of sauce to meat. Fries were hot, fresh...and totally unseasoned and boring. I rarely leave fries, but there just wasn't any reason to finish these (other than the $3.39 price tag). I guess these days $17 for 2 burgers and an order of fries isn't especially unusual for fast food, but it seemed overpriced. It wasn't wildly bad, but not much reason to go back either. read more

Super attentive staff. Listen, fast food doesn't always go the way you want and things are bound to mess up or get missed with the amount and rate of food they pump out. Chill, it'll be okay. I never understood the people that want to lambast and degrade these workers. As if they never made a mistake themselves. We were expecting a bit more based on the hype. we both got the Cheese burger combo. We got an order of onion rings and an order of fries with Tea and Coke. so on to the review: Tea - not as good as sonic but passable Coke - it's coke can't go wrong with coke Fries - thin cut and good and hot Onion Rings, only got 5 but they were large and fairly thick cut. pretty decent over all now to the burgers ... they were cold, cheese hadn't even melted on them. Bun was cold as well. Not good. Manager came by and we told him they were cold and he offered us another one but we declined. he did go right back to correct the situation so that is a plus. We will go back and try some of the other stuff and probably try another burger at some point but for now. 3 stars is about all I can justify read more

BOTTOM NOTCH. When you first walk up your expectations are so high because you can smell the grill. It smells like fresh juicy hamburgers and non frozen fries or anything. When we got our food ($24.87) we got two hamburgers one fry and one okra. They were definitely pre frozen. The Top Special Burger was a very thin and little to no flavor smothered in hickory sauce, that had to wiped off. The Cheese Burger had shredded cheddar cheese not even melted. I love Top Notch and I'm thrilled the Hutto location finally opened since hearing about it pre-Covid. It was a long wait. It does not disappoint. We always get the fried chicken. Literally - have never even bothered to try anything else because it is delicious - and a great value considering that a 2 piece dinner comes with 2 sides for $10.99 (leg & thigh) or $12.99 (breast & wing) and the chicken pieces seem unusually large. PLUS Texas toast! Their onion rings are delicious too and I never order onion rings anywhere else. I actually wish they offered an a la carte menu as the 2 piece dinner leaves me feeling post-Thanksgiving dinner too full. I don't really understand where the negative reviews are coming from. Omg I love it! Can't wait to go back! Impressed with the service for how new and busy it was. The kids meal comes in the cutest little car box thing and the food was so yummy the back deck is a perfect place to get fresh air while you eat and your kids can run around on the lawn. Very excited for the hippo splash pad to open very close to top notch... I foresee lots of top notch visits in our future!!! read more
