What an experience! Rented two slingshots for 6 hours to drive to Santa Barbara to celebrate my dad's birthday. The cars seem really intimidating but they're a breeze to drive! The slingshots are fun and all until you get charged $600 for the side panel getting scratched a inch where you have to get in the slingshot and was told by angel he will charge me $400 then get charged $600. Great doing business with you guys! Make sure you guys get better vinyl wrap before you charge stupid amount for a scratch where customers have to get in the vehicle your renting. Please put clear bra over that panel unless you like charging $600 for every customer. Look closely that wrap on the panel is not even put on correctly and corner is already lifting. Nothing but a great experience! My wife and I rented the 4-seater and took one of our kids and his friend (both 11) up the coast and we had the best time. Angel is fantastic and super attentive. The entire staff are not only friendly but really took the time to make sure we knew everything about the Sling Shot. They explained that these are very low to the ground and took photos of everything and asked me to do the same which I completely understand. If you are not mindful of speed bumps and steep curbs, you can scratch the front end so just be aware, and no problem. I screwed up on the reservation and they went the distance to accommodate us. Found out about this place from a designer friend of mine (shout out Etai) I checked out there instagram page where there is a direct link to book your slingshot which was extremely convenient and fast. Then I showed up to designated pick up area and was greeted by Angel who took great care of me checking me in and getting me going! My wife and I rented a Slingshot for 12 hours and drove up the coast. We had a great experience. Checking-in was easy, the Slingshot was incredibly clean (2020 that looked brand new), Angel was very helpful in providing an operational overview and answering any questions...and we were on our way. If you are considering renting a Slingshot, I highly recommend Top Off Rides. The location at the Glendale Galleria is perfect and we were able to park our car very close to the check-in area. They keep the equipment in excellent condition and pay close attention to the details. Here are a couple of observations after our trip. We went with an automatic and no top. I'm 6' 5" and the row bar was in slightly in my line of sight, so it was topless for us. I suggest you take a pair of gloves - not because the Slingshot is difficult to steer (because its not) but to keep the sun off your hands if your not use to it. Sunblock and a jacket are a must and there is small storage space behind each seat (large enough for a helmet). The automatic was ok and worked fine offering a Slingshot mode (which revs a little higher before shifting) and a Comfort mode (which focuses on making the shifts smother). The automatic wasn't as smooth at low speeds (5 to 10 miles per hour) as I would have thought, but you don't want to drive at that speed anyway (101 traffic...ugh), but worked fine. I will try the manual next time. The brakes are good, but these do not stop on a dime or like your car. I suggest using the brakes and becoming comfortable with them if you need to make a more aggressive stop. They will take pictures of the Slingshot to document its condition before you leave, and why not...these are expensive machines. Have a great time and enjoy. read more

So fun wise this adventure was a blast and I had great time going all over Southern California. Now let's get into the "waivers and agreements". So a little pebble at some time on one of LA's freeways hit the front plastic and gave a little indent in the plastic. Per their policy any and all chips are ur responsibility and they will keep your deposit of $250. Now a couple things about that. 1. If your gonna hold people that accountable for even chips that happen on the road ways under no way the drivers fault then the vehicle should be maintained to perfect conditions at all time. When I picked up the sling shot it was ready for an oil change and service the moment we left. The guy checked the OD and said it was just done before on Thursday. Mind you I picked it up at 9am Saturday. In 24hrs and driving 8-9 hours on Saturday I only put 400mi on it, so for it to be ready for service after 36hrs doesn't make sense. The back main drive wheel was close to bald. The transmission in lower gears and in general shifted so hard you know the vehicle hasn't been serviced in quite some time. A real service. This is dangerous for something so close to the road with no form of protection for the riders. 2. They don't fit you for helmets yet they tell you if you get pulled over for not wearing a helmet it's on you because they provide them. 1. If your not fitted and get pulled over and they don't fit your screwed anyways, so how does that help you, and you can't get a fix it ticket for that. So that technically is on them. This company while the idea is great their policy's suck, they are all about flash and looks but not making sure you are safe at all times. They care more about the way the vehicle looks than if the tires are nearly bald, or the transmission and oil need servicing. Their idea of "giving you helmets" is just enough to make sure the chp doesn't shut them down for not having a better selection of them, but that does cost money. I wish they could be a better review as I had a blast but their policies are trash. I won't be renting from here ever again, shit I might start my own company and compete and take their clients away. It is a niche market in Southern California. read more

This was SO MUCH FUN! We weren't ready to return our sling shot. My best friend and I rented a sling shot from top off rides for 24 hours it was a little over $300 Including insurance. You have to pay in full and book online. They are located in the Glendale galleria in the B parking lot to your right (because there are two B parking garages). Make sure to get clarification on how to put gas in it before leaving. We struggled trying to put gas in it lol there is a sensor in the gas pump and you have to push or pull on it in order for the gas to come out . I would suggest wearing sunglasses if you are going on the freeway, and tie your hair up ladies because this is not one of those situations where you can wear your hair down and be cute. My hair got so tangled. We got the automatic but when I rode in the stick (my friend rented from some where else) the stick is much faster! The staff and owner are very professional, patient and friendly. I highly recommend top off rentals. We will be renting again! read more
