I took my car here to get an oil change. The next day I noticed a good size puddle of oil underneath my car. I checked the bolt on the oil pan and it was loose, not tight at all. This could of caused serious damage if I hadn't of noticed the oil leaking. When I called several times to get an answer and to speak with the owner I was treated very poorly by the employees with them just shrugging it off and offering no compensation or apology. Broke down in 100 degree heat not far from this shop. 2 employees and I walked over and got my car back to the shop. Shortly thereafter found my battery was dead and alternator was almost dead. They had the battery in stock and the alternator delivered to get me back on the road. Nobody likes to break down, or have to pay for repairs. But it's customer service like this that shows a companies true colors. These guys do a great job. read more

Came in for an oil change and tire rotation and had a great experience (and only about $30!). They were very nice and didn't try to upsell me on anything. They also gave me a $5 voucher to the coffee shop nearby while I waited. All of the workers were very personable and it was very well priced. Definitely coming back here! read more

I've taken 2 cars here 5x now and I really don't have any complaints at all. Prices seem reasonable, customer service has been great, and I have found their communication is good. I have been using top performance for several years. This time their customer service was lacking. When I called to make the appointment I was sure to clarify which car I was bringing in for service and that my account was used because multiple people in our family use them for oil changes. When I arrived they had some random person attached to the car and then it took over and hour to do my service. The problem with this is that 3 other people brought their cars in after me and were done before I was. What good is an appointment if you do not take keep it on the companies end? And I was there 5 minutes prior to my scheduled time so I would not make them late for the next appointment. The only explanation was that the technician was behind. Very disappointed!!!! read more

I ran into an inconvenience relating to the shuttle service they offer as a courtesy. I called and made sure it would be available during the time of my appointment for rides to and from work while my truck was in the shop. They didn't have the staff to accommodate a return ride to pick up my vehicle due to some recent staffing issues and I stormed out angrily. Sorry guys, I was just very upset and already late for work. I wrote a crappy review when I was upset. After writing this review David from Top Performance immediately (2 hours after) called me and promised to make this right. I named a day and time that would work for me and he said he will personally make sure the shuttle services are available for me tomorrow! I will be dropping off my truck tomorrow morning for the brake service and oil change. I will admit I was frustrated at first, but I appreciate a shop that is making an effort to make things right for me! I will update this review after the services are completed tomorrow and let you all know how it goes! If everything runs smoothly with the services and brakes then I will have no reason not to increase this star rating to a 5 star. Really great service. A little overpriced but I loved that I was sent a link to the photos of what was wrong with my car so I could see for myself. I do wish that they took card over the phone. It's inconvenient when you work 8-5 and that's when they're open and you can't pay over the phone so the work gets held up over it. But everyone was nice and friendly. read more

The staff is so awesome! I can't express enough how they made me feel, I felt safe for my car to be in their hands. My husband and I don't know much of the mechanic of a vehicle but they walked me though the inspection process of my car which was wonderful and let me know they weren't trying to rip me off. Since the issue with my car was so silly and didn't need much work they gave me a killer deal. Rare situation, none the less. Ive been using TopPerformance the last 4 years since i moved to the area for all major maintance and any issue any of my cars have had. They have always been excellent and thorough, and never once have they tried to upsell a service. Their prices are excellent. Recently my car needed a major, expensive fix. Top Performance recommended i pursue a fix through the car maker themselves and gave me the information to try and get it to be a recall fix. Long story short, they helped me get a 2k repair done for no charge. I cannot recommend Top highly enough. read more

The people who work here are nice. The shop offers good prices, but I have had bad experiences. First went in for an oil change, afterwards I'm driving home and my car starts overheating! WTF?! They did not screw on the radiator cap completely! Second time went in for steeling problems and the next day the brakes don't work! They put steering fluid in where the brake fluid goes!! Seriously! I don't think I will be ever going back. Hopefully they can fix my brakes! read more

My Nissan Xterra has started perfectly every time since I bought it 2 years ago. I have gotten my oil changed every 3,000 miles at Oil Can Henry's; although, this last time since I had never rotated the tires I figured that might be a good idea. Oil Can Henry's doesn't offer tire rotations so I found a coupon for Top Performance. As soon as got my car back last week, I brought it home, and now it doesn't want to start. Figured it had to be the battery, changed that, still no luck. Have yet to figure out what is wrong, but think it is pretty weird the day I get my oil changed, somewhere different than normal, and have never had an issue with my ca thus far, now I have issues to deal with. It looks like another reviewer had a similar issue to mine after leaving from an oil change and having problems. Very upsetting. read more

Do Not Take Your Vehicle Here! Took our vehicle in to get a new radiator. Bad experience with both the manager/owner? (big tattooed guy) and service. Called us when they first took in the vehicle to tell us there was a problem, went all the way back and the guy said that the gaskets were going to blow and that it would be pointless to put in the new radiator and that we ought to junk our, 1 year new to us, vehicle. What?! They wanted to know what we wanted to do, and after our being very worried about the whole situation, we decided to go ahead and have the radiator done because we had no other option, we only have the one vehicle. So this guy said that if we had the work done the work would have absolutely NO Warrenty. We said fine, I mean, what else are we going to say?! So they said that they'd call us when it was ready cause I was going to have to be going to work, and after many hours we finally called them and it turns out it had been done for awhile and we were waiting for no reason. They couldn't even call us to let us know. When we got back he handed over the key and said his mechanic did not test drive it because it was too "dangerous" and could "blow up at any time". The whole time the guy was kind of talking down to us and finally basically 'dismissed' us. We were feeling so bad about the situation so decided to take the vehicle to our old mechanic for them to do an ACTUAL test of the head gaskets and it turns out that there is NOTHING wrong with it. Top Performance Auto needs to change their name. They are FLUNKIES. They are lacking respect for their customers. They just wheel them in and wheel them out. read more

My husband and I bought a 2000 Volvo xc70 for my disabled Veteran son, we had originally taken it to our mechanic where he was unsure of a possible Turbo issue that he was not able to take care of. We searched Angie's list for a great Volvo mechanic and found one in Camas called "Independent Volvo". It had great reviews and seemed to be a small shop, which is what we were looking for (low overhead) My husband called the phone number and a man answered by saying "top performance", my husband was confused and asked him if this was Independent Auto and the man stated "yes that's us", so he made an appointment to drop off the car on a Sunday and left instructions to do a diagnostic on the car and outlined our concerns. Now when we pulled up to this place I was shocked at how big this place was and how fancy it was, by the impression I got from reading reviews on Independent Volvo AND the large name of Top Performance on the building I was confused, so I asked my husband if this was the right place, and he told me what the guy on the phone said, so we left the car. On Tuesday we got a call regarding what they "found" with the car and they asked my husband about checking the power door systems (not knowing they were charging us for now two different diagnostic charges instead of one) so my husband thinks they are just going to visually and manually check this out, not charge another fee, I mean really do you need a diagnostic to figure out one door switch doesn't work? Well I guess they did. They sent over a fax of "all that was wrong with the car" to repair the cost WOULD have been as follows: Parts: 956.95 Labor: 1834.15 Tax: 235.08 Now living in Oregon we had no idea they tax on repairs in Washington, no one told us nor does there web site state this for Oregon customers, I guess we are supposed to know this! A total cost of: 3,026.18 WOW!!!!!! We told them we are picking up our car. But before we got our car I did some research on this shop and what I found was this: The original shop we thought we were taken to has a different phone number than Top Performance does so when you phone Independent Auto Top Performance answers the phone, I found this confusing SO,, When I picked up the car I asked the guy (whatever his name was) that was taking my payment I said "When my husband made this appointment he called Independent Auto which has a totally separate number than your shop and your shop answered the phone, why is that ? Well he said "that's us" and I told him "no it's not" so then he replied "well the other place's owner retired and he sold us his client list" and then I added "Oh and phone number as well huh?". I told him why we came there thinking that the other shop and mechanic was the one we were going to and you led us to believe that this was the same place. Why did you do that? Then he became snotty "well if you didn't know you weren't at the same shop then you're stupid" UNREAL! This is/was a bait and switch shell game. The other number is still listed everywhere under the other business, a business that is now NO MORE/CLOSED. This is a scam and I am reporting them to the Attorney General's office let them deal with this and the BBB. Beware of this kind of "customer service" Oh and by the way we brought it to another Volvo shop in Portland and the cost to fix the car? 501.81 A difference of 2524.37 I think this speaks volumes. read more

I just had some work done on my car today from this company and I can tell you that they may provide the work, but if you are looking for a quick check out, you can forget it! I stood in their office for ten minutes after being told that the paperwork was almost done. Now, five guys are all standing around a computer looking at an expensive car and completely ignoring me until I asked that they find out what is going on. Unsatisfactory customer service! read more

I just spent over $1100.00 and my problem was not even fixed. I fell like I just wasted a bunch of money on stuff I didn't need and now I have no money left for additional repairs. They gave me a loaner car and had my vehicle for several days trying to find the issue of no heat. The failed to find the issue. I went in with a mailer coupon for an oil change, and that went well. However, I asked for estimates on other services including repairing an oil leak, which they promised to have for me by the time my oil change was finished. That didn't happen, so they promised to call me the next day with the estimates, which also didn't happen. So this place is fine for a quick oil change and more apt than Jiffy Lube, but I can't depend on them as my one-stop auto maintenance shop. read more

best customer service of any repair shop around including dealer service. Justin our service rep was on top of all activities and kept us informed of progress. I was somewhat reluctant to have my BMW serviced by a non BMW repair shop but I had no worries here at Top Performance. They did a super job and saved me a lot of money over what costs would have been at the BMW dealer. I recently had my timing belt replaced here. The price was good, timeliness of the repair was good. When I dump a chunk of change ANYWHERE I expect a friendly hello and a thank you. I didn't get either. There are other shops around that I could go to, this one was convenient for drop off and pick up. I may give it another try as needed. Time will tell. Top Performance Automotive gets all three, every time. This is a great shop, clean, open schedule, talented technicians, and great customer service. I took my 2006 Honda Civic in here to have my auto tensioner replaced. The crew fit me in the same day I called. The bolt holding the auto tensioner in was stripped and while Honda states that if the bolt is stripped and cannot be removed as designed, the protocol is to then replace the engine, this shop just welded an Allen into the stripped bolt and removed it. Saved me thousands of dollars!! Also they have a pretty swanky system in which they take pictures of everything and text or email not only work they are doing but also recommended work. I didn't even know I had an oil leak, but now I do, and I have all the details right on my phone that explain what is going on and how much it will be to fix it. They are so accommodating and helpful that they even let me bring in my own part that I had purchased. The work was finished in a matter of hours with no inconvenience to myself, and my car is now running fabulously. I worked with Mike in the front office, he displayed excellent customer care throughout the process of the work they were doing. He kept me up to date and answered my multiple calls with questions about the work. This shop comes with my highest recommendation. My dad has also been getting work here done for years. This crew does dealer work, at a fraction of the cost. The best thing about this shop, is that they are up front and honest about the work they are doing and the work that should be done. I never feel concerned about being able to get a better price or better service somewhere else. Go check them out. read more

I am really surprised by the number of poor reviews on about Top Performance. I have taken several cars there for varying service over the past few years and never had a bad experience. They have always treated me with respect and their prices were very fair. I took our 2006 Grand Caravan in this week for what I thought was a bad power steering pump. They found a clog in the reservoir and saved me a lot of money by not changing the PS pump. read more

My main beef with all shops. The price over the phone is never the price you pay. Went in for exhaust manifold issue and told them to quote me assuming there were two broken bolts as I knew this was the issue. When it came time to do the work, they charged me an extra half hour of labor to remove the bolts. Plus didn't include the price of the hardware in the quote which I told them would need to be replaced. The overall price ended up somewhat reasonable and they were responsive and friendly but can't give a good review if they don't give me a quote when I specifically told them what to quote me on. read more

Mr Mike (teenager in PR) . Needs to not be at front desk. Engine light came on, paid 80.00 for diagnosis. I return my truck for needed engine light repairs. assuming that they will fix needed repairs as I requested to have engine light extinguished, I leave my truck there for 2 days, now 3, as it is today. 1800.00 now. Mr mike says "well i was'nt here when you talked to another collleauge" What? They need 6 guys at the front desk sitting there? I am the reason I pay more $ because of trust issues to go to the dealership. I will from now on. Dont go there! They used to be good when they were on mill plain with the one guy running the show, with tats and earrings, good guy. shame on you Mr Top performance! your not so TOP. terrible terrible place! they make it sound as they are doing me a favor, by checking my engine again.
