A pretty decent thai spot for that area. Some dishes were better than average and some were pretty bad. The dishes that were scarffed up quickly were the pad thai, duck curry, and the green curry. I thought the pad thai was pretty good it wasn't too sweet and the noodles were really chewy. The pad kee meow is served a bit strange here. They have this rather biggish layer of lettuce so it looks more than it really is, but the good thing is that its served semi spicy. The Tom Yum soup isn't bad either it's not spicy but the sour taste is definitely up to par. Dishes to avoid, the chow mein and some entree dish with salted fish (really nasty). Overall a good thai place for the area but not worth trekking to. The service was up to par. What really rocks at this place is the 2 huge flat screen TVs with HD that enabled me to not miss the UNC/Lousville bball game. I have been a long time customer of Top Thai and been pretty satisfied up to this point. Unfortunately, I ordered Roti today and helped myself to a slice of the sweet dish. Immediately realized that it tasted funny, I looked closely at what was on top of the condensed milk. Upon closer inspection, the roti that was supposed to have sugar sprinkled on top was in fact sprinkled with MSG. I am so disappointed. I'm sure it was a mistake but really? MSG? This is a great Thai place. It was my favorite until they changed their recipe for pineapple fried rice and wonton soup, but their curries and seafood selections are still delicious! Pretty good tom yum with shrimp. It wasn't too sour or spicy. Just right. The shrimp tasted fresh and was not overcooked. Pad thai had good flavor (a little on the sweeter side) but the consistency of the noodles was a little gummy (perhaps a little overcooked). Pad see ew was very good. Noodles were nice and big and veggies were fresh. Mango sticky rice was really nicely arranged. Very artistic and creative. It was difficult to eat it because we didn't want to mess it up. This place is good. Much of the time I don't eat in but take out. The parking lot is smll but there's plenty of parking behind the place and on the street. I usually go for one of the curry dishes but the duck salad, papaya salad and pad thaiare also very good. The staff is attentive and courteous always happy to serve. Check it out. Great restaurant! Me and my friends have been here multiple times now, and it's always packed with customers. The staff remembers their frequent customers, and they treat us like family. Since my husband and I have retired we find that eating out is one of our favorite things to do. This can be an expensive new hobby however thanks to restaurants.com we try to visit the restaurants that offer gift certificates for super cheap prices. Top Thai is one of those restaurants. We last ate at Top Thai about 6 years ago when we lived in San Dimas. Since we now have more time, we decided to take in our 25.00 gift certificate and drive to San Dimas. We showed up at about 9:20 pm while the last Laker game was on their wall televisions. They close at 10:00 pm but that didn't seem to bother them. Although the employees were glued to the television, it did no stop them from attending to us. We ordered our tasty food and just like I remember it 6 years ago, it was yummy. We were the last customers in the restaurant and finished eating a little after 10:00 pm. While waiting for our check, my husband pulled out the coupon and set it on the table. When the check was given to us my husband saw that the bill was about $31.00. One of the "requirements" for using our coupon is that we spend $35.00 or more on our meal. No big deal, my husband put away our certificate and figured we will use it on our next visit. He put our c.c. in the bill holder and the waitress picked it up and took it to the cashier. When she returned she told my husband that she needed the coupon to attach to their paperwork. My husband explained that we didn't spend the required $35.00 and she said it was okay and that the $25.00 was already credited to our check. First, this was awesome! Second, she was so on the ball with paying attention to things because my husband never showed her the certificate. Third, their food rocked! It is really hard to find places that will bypass little things like this to keep their customers happy and returning time and time again. This place definitely deserves a 5 star rating. read more

I love this dish at most places, but this place just became my new measuring stick for all other Thai restaurants. They give a generous portion of Shrimp, I counted 10. Most places only give you 6, and they are usually small. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and they were a large size. Went in just a couple cups of boba drinks. Couple drinks later, my wife and I have vowed never to return. They charged us an extra $1 total because my wife likes her boba with no ice (She doesn't like it diluted or cold.). Keep in mind a drink is only about $3.75! We do this at all restaurants and NOBODY has ever charged us a fee for not getting ice! Now, an extra $1 added to $5 I think is a big deal because a stingy restaurant owner is a bad sign for their quality of food. Who knows where they're cutting costs, cutting corners! On a Saturday night at 6:30 it was moderately busy, but we had to wait for our order to get taken. The good thing was we were seated immediately in a nice booth with loud soft jazz playing behind us and the Laker game on TV . The menus are thick albums with pics of most of the dishes; prices ranged from $5.99 to $16.99 for appetizers to seafood. From a review of the restaurant in October 2011 from a local newspaper, that was framed by the restrooms, prices haven't changed much in two years . We had two free beverages with a coupon. We ordered mee knob, green beef curry,chicken pad thai and a large rice( didn't come automatically with the menu) . Odd that you don't include rice with curry!? The food was hot and was very good. Mee krob had the traditional tangy and sweet flavor but lacked the bean sprouts that the menu described the dish as having. We didn't see the waiter after the meal was ordered and had to ask for refill for hot water in the teapot. The staff was pleasant but not attentive enough to earn a great tip. Bathroom was clean( a plus in an Asian restaurant ). The total for dinner for three was $32, not too bad. Would try again, maybe for lunch. read more

I have been coming to Top Thai for a few years now. I introduced my boyfriend to Thai food for the first time and fell in love with the walnut chicken. Needs less to say he literally dragged me two times a week literally for a month! I can't lied, it was amazing! We went in one evening and we were extremely disappointed as the walnut chickken was poorly made! The chicken looked watery as it had been boiled rather than stir fried. Our waiter took our food back but when he brought it back it looked like the chef placed it back in the pan and refried it. Sadly we will not be going to Top Thai any time soon because my boydriend has hope that we went in when the substitude chef was there. I truly hope this was a one time mistake. read more

I go to this restaurant very often because I love Asian food because I am Asian. The owner changed service fee policy a few months ago. We used to pay 18% service fee plus a little tip. Now we are glad we can tip however we want to. The owner or the employee with glasses is very nice. I went there a few days ago, the air conditioning did not give us enough air and it was very hot in the evening because the house faces west, he filled up our glasses frequently since he knew there was no other way to keep us cooler, I feel grateful still.
