I will start by saying its not the servers fault. My wife and I went to eat and there was only 1 server on with a full house. The girl was doing her best but no one was helping her. Thetr was a guy at the register but he didn't move to help the server. We stayed waiting about 20-25 minutes with no one checking on us. A family came in after us and they got served drinks and their order taken. We didn't get asked anything. At this point we left. This isn't the first time we've been here. My wife likes this place but unfortunately I don't think this restaurant cares for its customers. read more

The pho with tendon and tripe is our family's go-to especially during the cold weather. It's the perfect thing to warm your tummy with. It's hearty, healthy and delicious. You can tell the broth is made in-house for several hours and maybe it's a placebo effect, but anytime my son takes this, he almost always feels better immediately after. Service is always wonderful. The staff is consistently welcoming and patient. The whole place is clean and sanitized and the smells coming from the kitchen always make my mouth water every time I approach the cash register to pay. I hope this restaurant stays on as one of San Dimas's institutions. We always love coming here. Eating their food feels like a much-needed warm hug. read more

3.5 stars I was craving pho and found myself here. We started it the egg rolls ($7.25 for 4). These were okay. The egg roll itself could have stood for a little more flavor, but dunked in a little fish sauce, these were fine. I ordered the #18 which includes all of my favorite cuts of meat: rare beef + well done beef. I also included meatballs at no additional cost. While this satiated my pho craving, the broth was definitely missing a little something extra. The broth tasted a little watered down and didn't have the full pho effect. It was good, but there are better versions of this elsewhere. VN did for me what I was looking for, but I wouldn't seek out this version again. The restaurant is lively with plenty of foliage decor. Been inconsistently coming to VN Cuisine for 10ish years. They changed management a couple of times which impacted the taste and quality of their food but right now, the food is back to good. I ordered their #16 & #66 via Doordash. That's the Charbroiled Shrimp, Beef, & Chicken Fried Rice & their Rare Beef, Flank, Tendon, & Tripe beef pho. The food was packed well and they provided utensils, the garnishings and Hoisin and chili sauce. You can't go wrong with the fried rice. They are generous with the shrimp, beef and chicken. There's yummy crispy bits of fried rice, not too oily and the green onion and coriander were nice. The Rare Beef, Flank, Tendon, & Tripe pho was packaged securely, not a drop of the still hot broth was spilled. Plenty of onions, bean sprouts and thai basil was provided. The rare beef was in a separate baggie. the broth tasted clean and beefy and not oily. However, and maybe i'm wrong, i think there's a lot of MSG in it. everytime i eat pho here i always have a buzzy head feeling lolz Still good place to go in a pinch read more

First time here and was very satisfied with my meal and service. I ordered a regular size combo with rare beef, flank, tendon and tripe but instead of rare beef, I asked for more tendon. My preferred combo is brisket, tendon and tripe, but was close enough since they don't have brisket at all here. They also have three sizes, which was unusual but cool to know for next time. I also ordered the deep fried shrimp rolls and GF ordered the regular size Pho Ga (chicken). The regular size with an app was plenty for me and my GF had left overs even though she doesn't eat shrimp and didn't eat any of the app. The shrimp rolls were actually the stand out for me. Pho was good, but have had better in Westminster and Monterey Park. Service was very good also, but there was a single server with a pretty busy lunch crowd. He did his best and we really didn't have anything to complain about except having to ask for a few things twice, but no big deal. Definitely will return when in the area and will hope to try some other dishes to review. read more

Been going here for years now! So far they have been pretty consistent with good food and service. I just noticed that they have a new menu! Today I ordered the #35 Vermicelli, Egg Roll and Charbroiled Chicken and Hot French Coffee with condensed milk. My fiance ordered the #66 Fried Rice with Charbroiled Beef, Chicken and Shrimp. Coffee was super strong the way we like it! The servers are very nice and asked if we needed anything and kept our water refilled. This is my go to Vietnamese spot here. read more

I wished I asked the girl for her name, because upon entering their restaurant, she was friendly and patient. She answered all of our questions about the menu and gave us suggestions for what to order. #9. French bread with charbroiled chicken. This is under appetizer and I thought said it said french bread I was expecting something smaller, but it's a typical size of a Vietnamese sandwich. The taste is typical. #15. Special beef noodle soup. They wrapped the ingredients individually so it wouldn't get soggy. Once we got everything put together and tasted it, it was really good. The broth flavor was delicious. #66. Charbroiled shrimp, beef and chicken with fried rice. We ate it all mixed together and it tasted really good. Nice flavors. Thai tea was good. I was excited to see jackfruit smoothie on the menu, so I for sure wanted to add that to our order. I was very happy with the taste of the jackfruit in this - oh so yummy! I only wish that they crushed the big chunks of ice at the bottom of the smoothie. They have a hand sanitizer at the entrance and have social distancing signs up. read more

My Husband works not far from here and brought dinner home after one of his business lunches. I've been ordering from here for MANY years, and last night I ordered dinner on grubhub for take out. My son specifically wanted the chicken chow fun, so that's what I ordered for him. We found TWO VERY LONG pieces of light brown hair in the same food container with the chow fun!! Thinking back to last night, I'm pretty sure that the woman packing up the food did not have her hair pulled back or in a hairnet. Ugh, it kills me to leave a negative review for a small business (PARTICULARLY for an Asian American business in my small hometown) but my experience with VN Cuisine was so astonishingly horrible that I feel the need to warn others in the community. I ordered 2 phos for takeout via phone, pickup went without a hitch. When my fiancé and I got home, we found a huge, STRINGY bug inside one of the soups. Sadly, the bug was NOT the reason I'm upset. We took the soup back to the restaurant and were expecting (at a bare minimum) for them to replace the soup with an apology. We informed the cashier of the situation and he took the soup to the back, where we could see he was discussing the situation with someone else. Then he proceeds to bring the same soup back to us, along with a replacement soup. In a hushed tone, he tells us to take the original soup with us and dispose of it on our own because "the owner didn't believe it was a bug". To this, we were super confused....are we being accused of lying? Why are we being made to feel guilty for something that isn't even our fault?! We asked to speak to the owner, who came out and started blaming the situation on the cashier, saying he was new. We informed him that we were appalled at the handling of the situation, and all he could do was continue to blame his cashier. I'm not upset that we found a freaking BUG in our soup. I'm disappointed at the complete fumbling of a situation that should've been easily handled by ANY business owner. Also, the pho was tasteless and did NOT negate the metaphorical HORRIBLE taste left in our mouths by this situation. I would AVOID at all costs. read more

The server told us they would remove it from our bill but at the end they didn't. They said they saw my dad didn't stop eating it so we still had to pay 50% of that dish. Good to know. Tried this place on a random Monday evening and was impressed with the food and staff. The location and exterior is in the corner of a plaza. I went with the Pork + Eggroll Vermicelli dish and was pretty pleased with the flavor. My SO got the veggie pho and it had tons of veggies like broccoli, carrots and the works.
