This is the only Toppers Pizza in the Indianapolis area, and it's a shame! There need to be more Toppers. This is the best pizza in Indy, and since it's downtown, that means I have to drive 30 minutes to get it. But I do! Oh yes, I do. By the time I get home with my box of pizza, it's colder than I'd like, but I just pop it in the oven to warm it up, and it tastes even better than when I first get it. Toppers: It's great hot, cold and warmed up at home. Anyway, this location is very fast with making orders, and they do curbside pickup if you call them (there is a sign outside with the phone number to call). There are also tables outside if you want to eat your pizza outdoors, which I've done before because sometimes I can't wait and I need pizza right now. Ohhh Toppers. First the service was not really up to par the last couple of visits. This visit in particular I placed my order online and arrived at Toppers about 7 minute after the time that it said it was out of oven ready to go. I enter and am not greeted. Waited for a couple minutes and a gentleman approached the counter and just looked at me. Okay than. I said hello, I ordered online. He states the total. I pay and he goes back and says, it will be out the oven in a few. He then leaves the restaurant (I assume he was a driver). I stayed waiting for 6 minutes more are I notice the orders stacking up on the heat rack. Other customers come in and wait along with me. The lady at the oven after an additional 3 minutes after the other customers come in finally comes and starts searching for other customers orders. Though I'd been standing for quite sometime I donnot lose patience and await my order. She finally gets to me and give me my order. The food has been delicious for a while. But recently, it's been slacking off a bit. After I got my order, you can see the quality in the photos I post. Toppers did me dirty. Took advantage of the $0.32 pizza with the purchase of cheese stix (mind you were $15). This was my first time ordering Toppers and was really hoping to love it since I live nearby. However, this was one of the worst pizzas I've ever had, plus the cheese stix were literally just unseasoned pieces of bread with very light sprinkles of cheese. Interestingly the locals from my workshop seemed to down on the place while I find it to be one of the better chain pizza delivery places I've had. I tried the macaroni and cheese pizza based on the recommendation of the person at the counter. Overall the pizza is a four and a large pizza could easily likely feed three people (it was my dinner and then breakfast for the next three days).. I took off a star for a combination of the price and since the counter clerk failed to inform me of the specials. Since I was buying a large pizza at regular menu price there was a coupon for free breadsticks on the back of the flyer sitting right in front of me. Perhaps I should have known that there was some special somewhere (most chain pizza places always have some special going on) but since the counter person knew I was from out of town (we talked about it) I was pretty disappointed in that lack of customer service. $20 for a pizza is a little pricey, but for pizza and bread sticks I would have been happier with the price. I assume Toppers wants you to take your treats to-go. I would recommend Toppers if you just want something quick, easy, and relatively reasonably priced. But, don't make a special trip. ordered pizza and wings for the first time. Online ordering was easy to navigate and always a convenient way to order your food. They are doing curbside pickup, and that's nice as well. The pizza was decent and so were the boom boom wings. Nothing too special. Just taste like your average pizza joint. I thought it was weird that you had to order your dipping sauce with the wings and that one didn't even come with it. With that being said, I am glad that I did give them a chance. PROS: - It's usually pretty fast! - You usually get the right stuff with your order (like sauces etc.) - Most of the people are pretty nice and it's a good environment when waiting or hanging out. - Open super late! CONS: - This is the single most inconsistent place I've ever eaten. You could order two of the exact same pizzas and they would come out completely different somehow. You never know what you're going to get, even if you order the same stuff. - If it's not fast (which it usually is) then it's SOOOOO SLOW. There's no in between.
