To start out, I've been to a few Torchys locations. I truly appreciate the healthy foods that are offered, and the combinations and sauces that they have come up with are like no other restaurant that ive can encountered. I do love the laid back friendly atmosphere. However, I do have a complaint about the Arlington location. I am a business owner, and in my opinion, the customer (where your money comes from) is top priority. I have repeatedly had to wait for someone to appear at the register to take my order, just to find out that the one that eventually showed up to take my order passed by me at the front counter at least once without acknowledgement. I think management needs to have more of a presence! Again, other Torchys locations have exceptional service to match the food! read more

This is a restaurant that came up for having a gluten free menu. I ordered a fountain drink, steak fajitas taco, the beef barbacoa taco and a half size street corn cup. All of this was about $20 with tax. The service was quick and the server was helpful with answering my questions about the serving sizes. The tacos themselves were very flavorful and I wouldn't recommend adding any sauces as they are perfectly spiced (unless you want extra heat from hot sauce or something for some reason). The beef barbacoa taco was better than the fajitas for me as the steak was a bit tougher to chew but the flavor was still good. Worst tacos I've ever had in my life. I mean, they have a bartender they're named Monique, who is absolutely rude, especially if you are white. The barked to be completely empty and she screams to the manager that she is swamped and they have to wait on you. She will not wait on you if you were a white human being. It is absolutely horrible. The food is gross and if you pay in cash, she doesn't give you change back. She thinks that that's her tip even if you live $100 bill and you only buy one taco that is three dollars. Stay away from this establishment especially if you're coming here for the World Cup it is absolutely dreadful and awful and their bathrooms are disgusting and gross. stay away of your coming for the World Cup. This location is pretty chill and has a nice bar. Good place to go to lunch if you work in the area. I like to try the taco of the month which was called the American and it was huge. I was a big piece of fried chicken with slaw and pineapple and it had a lot of sauce. It was just ok and it was over stuffed with too many different things in it. The service was good. read more

Late lunch here is a bit of an empty store affair, but the food tastes the same, and when sitting the bar, you get more personalized service. I did not catch her name, the young lady behind the bar, but she was super friendly, talking about events on the 4th of July and life. It was refreshing to sit there and be talked to rather than sit and do work or stare at TV's with no sound. Beer and Chips and Queso was on the menu for me today, and the queso with all of the fixings are really good. What a fabulous Torchys location! We took our son to six flags across the street and loaded up on grub here beforehand! Breakfast tacos and queso -- a great start to the day. I'm partial to the Wrangler myself. There was a misfire on my son's tacos and they were able to make it right promptly. I really appreciated that. We actually ended up coming back again that evening after six flags for some churros that were delightful. Their bar is beautiful and well attended with quality drinks as well. This was the 3rd and final dinner pitstop my brother, dad and I made after the cowboys vs ravens game ended. We're from Canada so we didn't really know the area. I hopped on Google and Yelp for a place that was open late and voila! This place popped up nearby as we kept heading up North Collins St. We wanted to try most of the proteins to see which ones were the best so we ordered: The Tipsy Chick The Hogfather Republican Democrat Mr. Orange Grilled Baja Shrimp My fave was a tie between the Democrat (barbacoa taco) and the grilled baja shrimp taco. The meat in the barbacoa taco was the softest and tenderest. The shrimp taco had the best balance between sweetness of the shrimp and spicy from the sauce. I think my least fave was the Tipsy Chick. The chicken was unfortunately not as moist as I would have liked. It was edging towards dry and there was also a lil bit TOO much cheese in the taco to the point where it was overpowering the taste of everything else (see pic). It was on the pricey side for tacos if I'm being honest (but the tacos ARE also hefty and they aren't shy w/ the protein so ok I'll give it to them). The employee working the register late night on sunday at this location is awesome (I didn't catch his name). He gave us 3 drink cups to go fill up at the drink machine but we only paid for 2 and tried to return a cup back to him but he told us it was ok because he saw that we were eating together and had 3 ppl! Great customer service. They offer corn and flour tortilla choices for patrons AND you can also buy glass bottle mexican coke which is pretty cool. So the first chance we got we found a Torchy's and went! Their queso is the bomb diggity! I don't like guac but in this queso with the Diablo sauce... "ohhhh my Goddie way to hottie!!" It wasn't "Taco Tuesday" but it was a "taco" kind of an evening. It was also a beautiful evening outside so my wife and I wanted to dine somewhere with a patio. Torchy's fit the bill on all counts. We ordered at the counter, my wife a chicken fajita taco and I ordered a Tipsy Chicken and a Baja Shrimp taco. We also ordered a basket of tortilla chips to much on plus a couple of drinks. Our three tacos were awesome. They were prepared perfect and were crammed full deliciousness. Tex-Mex at it finest... Torchy's Tacos is my go to for some the best Tex-Mex around. The service is like no other, they are fast at getting you your food. I like this Torchy's (Hulen location) the best out of the ones I have visited. Nice layout and just a cool feel. Also has a nice little bar area that I could easily see myself hanging at and watching some sports. We have been here several times and we have enjoyed our visits. I think their queso is one of the better ones around TBH. Lot's of food choices and most aren't you typical taco, but so far I haven't been disappointed in any of my selections. We had one little glitch on a recent visit. We had a little issue with our server who was just probably having a bad day. Normally, it's easy to brush it off, but after two visits to the table with a less than welcoming demeanor, we asked and spoke with a manager. Nothing can get changed if management doesn't know there is a problem so.... Anyway, the manager listened to our concerns and assured us that they would have a chat with the server and all was good. We weren't looking to get anything free or get anyone in any real trouble, but we let the manager know that our experience was a departure from the norm there. I am certain that our next visit will be back up to our normal expectations. While some may see this as a negative review, it isn't. Any establishment can have an off moment, many times caused by one person having an off day. It's how the problems are handled are what can make a mediocre client experience, into a client for life. I've tried Torchy's many years ago in Austin but this was my first time in Dallas. I ordered 3 tacos (MoFaux, Baja Shrimp, and Fried Avocado). I would order the Baja Shrimp (tasty!), but would skip the MoFaux (fake meat), and Fried Avocado. The tacos are larger than you think and I could of been good with two. Their quest dip was very good though! (without the chorizo). And of course, about a 15 min. walking distance to AT&T Stadium. About 99.9% percent of the restaurant's that I try are pre planned. Wether it's at home or on a road trip, I always know exactly where I'm going to eat before I arrive there. Sometimes that unexpected .1% happens and you're left not knowing where to go. Unfortunately, the Whataburger that I wanted to go to had closed due to computer issues. I rarely just pick a place off the street, but with a quick glance of the menu, I said the hell with this place will have to do. You order at the counter and then they will take out your order to your table once it's ready. I ordered their Crossroads smoked beef brisket and Brushfire Jamaican jerk chicken taco. Wasn't a big fan of their beef taco. It didn't have much flavor. The Jamaican jerk chicken taco was really good and surprisingly very spicy. It was served with pieces of mango grilled jalapeños, sour cream and cilantro which complemented this taco perfectly. My son ordered their Trailer Park fried chicken taco. They asked me if I wanted it "trashy". I was like huh? Quickly glanced back at the menu and noticed that it said "get it trashy"...add queso and remove the lettuce. I was like oh hell yeah! Make it trashy! All I can say is my son had the best taco of the night. This taco was delicious. The chicken was perfectly fried and the queso was just a bonus. It also came around green chiles, pico de Gallo, and cheddar jack cheese with poblano sauce. We also ordered a side of chips and queso which my son loved as well. They give you plenty of queso. Definitely one of he best quesos I've had. Not the best though. I might just want to come back to this place next time I'm in town. We finally tried this Torchy's Taco in North Arlington. I see all the great reviews on Yelp and I hear people raving about them. I just do not see it. We came on a Saturday for lunch. Not a big crowd no wait. The young lady at the counter had no personality she just stood there did not say a word. What was bad she was being trained and the trainer just stood there? I finally said do you greet your customers? She finally spoke this was a bad first impressions. The food is tacos a bunch of different ways with funny names. I had two the Jerk Chicken and the Shredded Pork. The Jerk Chicken was dry nothing on it but some cubed mango nothing else and cold needed some sauce. I had to add some salsa to give it some flavor. The shredded pork was better with a good amount of meat and good flavor. But it only had pork not much anything else. I am not sure if the cook forgot to add ingredients or that is how it come. What about some sauce. Plus the food was already prepared I could tell because it was room temperature which is cold. We also tried the famous green queso and chips. It was good I liked it more than my husband. It was not all that great just okay. I like the restaurant design and set up great bar good, outdoor seating. Just need to work on customer service. And put something on the tacos and serve the tacos hot not cold. I doubt we will go back. read more

Stopped by this location by accident. I haven't had Torchy's in a while so I stopped for the queso and a good carnitas taco! This place was clean but not many patrons and I can see why. The queso was still worth it but the tacos are just not as good as they used to be. Not sure if it's just this location in Arlington or across Torchy's. The tacos were mediocre at best. I'm Always a fan of Torchy's!!! Torchy's is one of the few taco chains Tex mex that I love and enjoy! My personal fav is the Baja shrimp taco with Diablo sauce. I even buy the Diablo sauce bottle for home too. It's great on breakfast tacos!! My friend's first experience years before with torchys was not good. But he agreed to try it again with me. I'd say he really enjoyed today's meal! He had the wrangler and the brisket taco. The brisket was pretty good and had a smoky flavor! I thought the wrangler was good. The egg went well with smoked brisket. As always, torchys queso is one of my fav of all time. I love the original and the added chorizo. The street roasted corn was pretty good. Corn was a little on the top done and burnt side. Flavor was okay. Overall it was good street corn, but not a personal fav. Our tacos were on point today in taste and size! They were hefty and I'm glad I only got one taco today especially since we had the side dishes. read more

New to Torchy's. Tried the south Arlington location & was meh. Had a gift card & tried the north Arlington location. Holy mollie it was good! The food is fresh & tasty & the portion sizes are what you hope for. We have been back every day now trying different things & it hasn't disappointed. We drive 20 minutes just to go to this location & hope it keeps the same quality! My husband is so picky it's hard to please him & it's his new favorite place. Kudos to y'all!!! read more
