We decided to sit on the patio during a recent good-weather day for lunch. I like ordering at the register and then seating yourself, it's super casual. There's plenty of space inside and the patio is decent with picnic tables, benches, and umbrellas. I had 2 Green Chile Pork tacos and a side of refried beans while Jon had the Trailer Park tacos. We also shared "Hillbilly Queso," which is green chile queso with the addition of chorizo. It's really good! The tacos are big and stuffed full in soft tortillas, corn or flour. There's a huge selection of salsas/sauces: pico de gallo, roja, tomatillo, poblano, chipotle, avocado, and diablo. I like the tomatillo, it's nice and tart. We didn't get a drink this time, but they do have a pretty good beer list with some local drafts and a great margarita menu: house frozen in multiple flavors, on the rocks, one with watermelon and vodka, and "the peg leg" which is any frozen marg with mini Corona beer in it. This is my first time coming to this Torchys in Arlington. The service at the front was pretty dope. I put on a fake accent to see how they would handle my order and the young lady at the front kept it cool. She took her time and made sure I got what I wanted even though I was playing. Now let's talk about my food. I ordered a Mr. Orange (FREAKING DELICIOUS) a Baja Shrimp also (AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS) lastly I ordered a Bone thug and Harmony (Crossroads) all was well until I noticed a ANT walking around on my Crossroads smh. It wasn't on the paper or the plate it was on my food ( just the crossroads) Needless to say that made me feel some type of way because i noticed it as soon as the brought it out so I know it had to come from the back. I had them remake it but spent most of my time inspecting it to make sure no more creepy crawlers were there. I didn't ask for money back, or ask to speak to a manager because I assumed that someone would let them know and they would take it upon themselves to come out and speak with me and for this reason I'm giving them a two star for service. read more

Torchy's tacos are pretty great! It is a chain restaurant, but when you are there, it really doesn't feel like one. The staff is always nice and tacos usually come out pretty fast. Their table to number order system is a little confusing for both customers and staff. There have been a few items brought to the wrong tables by the confusion that I have seen while there. I think a call out system could be easier. These are not street tacos, they are a larger size. Having more then 2 or 3 would be a lot. I suggest two. My favorite are the baja shrimp and the fried avocado. Their air stream salad is great too! I recommend it with salmon :) read more

Torchy's is a pretty popular Tex Mex taco chain in Texas and I do agree -- it's pretty good. But I'm just not a huge fan of Tex Mex just in general. I'd rather have some authentic tacos instead of Torchy's. My coworkers raved about Torchy's when I first moved to the DFW area and I was honestly pretty excited for it. They recommended the "Trailer Park Trashy" which to this day is probably my favorite selection. However, again Tex Mex is just not my cup of tea so I don't necessarily look forward to eating it all the time. Sometimes, I'm just like this is just mid tacos... but I will say it's pretty good for Tex Mex. I do like this location because it's so conveniently located from my house and my work so I do come here often. Service is usually pretty solid and I am able to get my food pretty quickly. Yummy tacos every time. They have decent sized tacos that are loaded with flavor. My fav is brushfire, you have the spice of jerk chicken with the sweetness of mango. It's a really nice balance and very flavorful. Crossroads is also a solid choice for a more traditional taco. Really you can't go wrong with anything you get. I think their breakfast tacos are served all day too. They have multiple salsas to choose from and they are super fresh. If you like spice, get a side of their diablo salsa! I knew I wanted tacos for lunch. Torchy's was recommended as a solid option, so I downloaded the app (a go-to move for new restos) and drove over. They sent me a free sign up reward of a 1/2 order queso and cheese (not the hillbilly queso, the one I was eyeing). I used the app to order the taco of the month "The Raj", but got the vegetarian version. It was a strip of breaded & fried avocado instead of the masala trailer tender. It came with "raita, parsi salad, fresh mango, chili crunch, mint & cilantro on a flour tortilla". Also got a 1/2 order street corn. Placed my order from my car after parking, and was told a time to pick up in 20 minutes. Headed into the shop and it was busting with people. The line was out the door to order in. The line to pickup only had 2 people in front of me, but it was slow going. I took the wait time to explore. The two lines, orders and pick ups, are separated by a huge red lit-up Torchys sign. It makes a BIG impact. The main dining room has a long bar and plenty of tables. Its got an industrial vibe with lots of lights. Went outside to the patio and saw a group of lonely picnic tables. In a packed restaurant, I thought that was odd. And as I got closer I realized something even more funny. Those empty tables were small. Miniatures for kids. Ha! No wonder no one was sitting there. Adult knees don't fit. But of course I had to try. It took 30 minutes, but I got my order. Went back to my kids table and sat sideways enjoying the sun and an excellent meal. I really enjoyed the Raj taco flavors, fresh mango. The avocado was a really nice alternative. The street corn was a bit dry, but I added it to my delicious gooey cheese, and it was a perfect spicy mix. I was given an entire bag of chips, which I'm thinking was way more than what I was supposed to get with my free queso. Maybe that was a late pick up time compensation. Appreciated!! I really enjoyed my lunch here. By the time I was done with my meal, the restaurant had cleared out, so there's obviously a lunch rush which should be avoided if you're in a hurry. Although this is one of his favorite spots, it was my first time to ever try Torchys. And I can only say, after the queso nachos, it won't bey last. This might be my third or fourth time ever eating at a Torchy's. I am so happy to be able to have tacos and a margarita on a patio with nice weather! I got here a little after 8 tonight and ended up getting the Brushfire (girl at the counter said it was their spiciest) and Baja. Yummy to both! It was spicy but I didn't die... lol! The girl at the counter (sorry I didn't get your name) said the bar was closed but they had to-go margs. I asked if I could get a to-go marg and drink it here. Today has I was in Arlington. I decided to stop by torchy's taco. The atmosphere was absolutely wonderful, but the establishment was clean. Parking was easy, and the staff was outstanding. I went here because you can see the big Torchy's sign lit up from the outside especially I drive by it almost daily. Read through the reviews and sounded good enough. Ordered the Baja Shrimp and Fried Avocado tacos. They were both very good and hit the spot. I go at least a few times a month and have on occasion stopped before work for their Monk Special for breakfast :) This location was insanely packed when my husband and I arrived on a Sunday afternoon. We ordered our food and found a spot at a table inside by chance. No matter how crowded it is, the food is always worth the wait. I want to talk about exceptional service after a freak accident. I have a soft voice. I placed an online order and when I arrived my food was ready. I waited patiently in the wrong line and when it was my turn a young lady asked if I was ready. I told her I had a pickup for Sade' (pronounced Shah-day) so at the same time that I placed my order another guest named Shardae ordered her food. I ended up paying for Shardae's food. I usually check my bag and I noticed that the names were different. I always pronounce my name and then spell it but I don't think the young lady heard me. She got her manager and the manager tried to process my refund. He was unable to do so and found an immediate solution. It was only my second time in the establishment but I have this to say. I've experienced dining in, it was exceptional. The moment I cleared my plate during lunch someone cleared my table. Definitely like this Torchy's location! They are one of the more spacious Torchy's in the Arlington/Fort Worth area and it definitely serves them well, because they seem to be always busy. There was no line when we arrived and several tables open. This location has a large bar with seating as well as a variety of tables. The staff seemed friendly. Our queso came out very quickly which can sometimes take longer at other locations. The tacos came out at a good time and were delicious. We took some of the cashier's recommendations and ordered the Trailer Park, Democrat, Green Chili Pork, chips with queso, elote, & a Mexican Coke. The Democrat was our least favorite taco - pretty dry and lacking in flavor. On the other hand, the Trailer Park was really unique and surprisingly tasty. The Green Chili Pork was moist and flavorful. Would definitely recommend either! The queso is insanely good - warm, a bit spicy, and perfectly cheesy. We'll add that to our order in ALL of our return trips to Torchy's. The chips were so-so and similar to a Tostitos chip. The elote was also really delicious. As an out of towner I was excited to try Torchy's which is a Texas staple. I had just arrived to Arlington and hit up Torchy's around 10:30pm before their closing. I ordered the chips and queso, the trailer park trashy, and the crossroads. The queso was delicious and interesting since it had guacamole at the bottom. The chips are salted so just a warning for those with high blood pressure! The trailer park taco was delicious and had a whole chicken tender in it. The crossroads was delicious with tender brisket.
