I'm pretty sure there's nothing that torchy's can make that I wouldn't love. The food is fresh, reasonably priced, and perfect for a fast non fast food option for any meal. The Mr Orange on corn is my favorite, but their taco of the month is always on point and the "secret" menu is crazy good (Google it). Don't pass up rhe queso, but ask for no Diablo sauce if you can't handle spicy. Their guacamole is good but salter than I like usually. Careful... Their sauce here will melt your face off like a Nazi in an Indiana Jones movie. I recommend getting the sauces, on any item, on the side until you try them first. Really good and fresh tacos! They have a pretty good variety of taco types and sauces. The only two reasons I did not give 5 stars is because 1. there is always a long wait (understandable because they are so popular) and 2. it's actually kind of expensive. I would say their average price of a taco is around $4.00 Not bad right? wrong... who eats only 1 taco? Most people eat 2-3 tacos, some order chips and guac (or queso), and then there's drinks. You're not getting out of here for less than $12.00, which is kinda pricey for tacos... even if they are good. read more

Torchy's has great food and I would highly recommend it to anyone! The issue is not the food, it's this particular location. The placement of the trash cans outside on a warm sunny day is very foul. My husband and I went to go eat there the other day and decided to sit outside in the sunshine. It became very hard to enjoy our food due to the overwhelming smell of hot garbage coming from the 2 large trash cans. We could of easily went inside for a seat but at this point our appetites were ruined. Might want to re-think the locations of the trash cans or maybe they need to be cleaned more regularly, just a suggestion guys! read more

Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. The only word to describe the quality of food and service this Torchy's has to offer. My family and I live in Lakeway and have been wanting to find a way to enjoy Torchys for years now. Every single time, and I mean EVERY SINGLE TIME, we wait 30 minutes minimum to be served cold food. We have heard every excuse from the fryers being broken, to new cooks, you name it. This last experience however is what drove me to write this review...we brought family that was in town visiting to Torchy's. It was a gamble based on prior experiences, however it's an Austin staple and close to the house and honestly we were starving. We ordered $60 worth of food. We waited for 45 minutes for our meal, only to come out in to-go packaging. Not the biggest deal but given we were dining in, it wasn't the best first impression for our guests. Then we all open our tacos to find them not even luke-warm but literally cold. I've never asked for compensation before at a restaurant, but this was the last straw. I spoke with a manager who kindly offered to refund our meal. I was so appreciative and thanked him for his customer service. HOWEVER...he never actually submitted the refund. I have now called Torchy's 5 times and even stopped in in person to discuss this and I have been shrugged off every time. At this point it is not about the $60, I am beyond disappointed in Torchy's pretending to appease me and then completely ignoring my follow ups. This is the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. They have completely ignored me as a customer over and over and over again. Do not waste your money here. Enjoy a good meal at one of the several other great restaurants in Lakeway that will offer their customers quality service. Best queso I've ever eaten in my life! To be honest I've never had a bad taco. They are all good so it is hard to decide what to get! Our favs are Mr. Pink, Baja Shrimp, and the Democrat but you can't go wrong with any of them. Their Diablo sauce is so good that we bought a bottle to take home. Good to have some originality in Cedar Park. Ill have to admit that I was not so impressed with the breakfast tacos, maybe I didn't order the right one? However I went back recently for lunch and ordered the Democrat. Wow, that is one of the best tacos I have had at a restaurant in a long time! If Torchy's only served the Democrat and was a bit more inviting atmosphere, I would give it 5 stars....buts its often too crowded and some of the other Taco options just don't quite cut it. Total fan! Food is consistently grrrreat! So much variety and everything is just so good. You got to portion yourself. I can't really remember what I really like because like I said before everything is so good. Try everything. O! And don't forget to grab a fork cuz them things are loaded with the goods! You'll want to make sure you savor everything. No lie! Most of the Torchy's Taco joints are super busy but they move the line quickly. The wait is not unbearable. I heard about how good there tacos were so I had to visit when I was in Austin. I was a little overwhelmed by the menu because there were so many tacos I wanted to try. I ended up going with the chicken and fajita tacos. They were great and I was surprised in how much meat and peppers they put in it. Their queso was good with a little kick in it. I was a little worried because I had my kids with me (a two year old and 2 month old) but more and more kids were showing up so I didn't feel so bad if my kid was going to act up. I'm glad to know Torchy's is in Houston as well since that's where I'm from. I'll be checking out the Houston location very soon. read more

I tried this place for the first time the other day for lunch and boy it was delicious. I relocated here several years ago from South Texas and finding a good quality barbacoa taco is hard to find in Austin. The tomatillo sauce they used is amazing and my wife loved her fajita tacos. Torchy's isn't just a taco shop, it's an experience! I love to take my friends and family from out of town to Torchy's when they visit Austin because everyone goes crazy over it! The tacos are not the fresh, less greasy type you'd get at TacoDeli, but they are certainly delicious! Can't decide? Try a Beef Fajita or Trailer Park ordered trashy! Love the tacos at Torchys but this location is ridiculous, they never have sauces and half if not all the time they some how get something wrong on my order or it's missing. I'm not usually one to write a review but today put me over the top, I specifically asked for my order to be right and add sauces. Ordered 8 items and got 4 things of sauce, UM....I guess I'm suppose to use sparingly and share with 5 other people hmm that doesn't sound right...I'm not gonna stop going to Torchys but I definitely won't be going to this location again read more

First time I went here I fell in love! Haha now I'm a regular and if you've tried all of the tacos here and don't know what to get next, please I suggest everyone to go look at the secret menu. I always look at the secret menu, my favorite taco from there is the Jack of Clubs which is a breakfast taco but they do have the full menu on all day thankfully. If you're not a big fan of breakfast tacos then I highly recommend Missionary-Style Green Chile Pork taco, especially with the diablo sauce. I always order two tacos and a side of chips and guacamole (the guac is amazeballs.) The only thing I don't love as much as everything else is the queso I'm not a huge fan, it tastes a little watery.
