Ugh. Really bad experience here. 1st time, didn't really know how it worked. Stood at the front waiting for someone to seat me, greet me, really anyone that could give me the low down. Staff just standing behind the counter, saw me come in and nothing. Grabbed a menu and sat down and nothing.... They don't do table service, I had no idea. After all this I was skeptical. The food, another ugh. Menu is a bit juvenile, seems like it was a left over from the 90's, not a large selection with a bunch of scary sounding tacos. Ordered a simple burrito bowl, thinking they can't mess this up. Wrong again! Cold, chewy, basically two pieces of actual steak, no flavoring, no seasoning, and the smallest bowl I've ever seen. Didn't even get a drink and my tab was more than $15. Total waste of time and money. This is Colorado, there are so many great tacos in this state - don't waste your time and money here. Was visiting a pal in the area and wanted a quick taco, I've had Torchy's many times before and the food is solid. Walked into this location, just a couple barflies with no employees in sight. No communication, no nothing. Waited a couple minutes for anyone ti acknowledge me, went to the restroom and came back out, same deal. Seemed like between the negligence and general atmosphere, the food wasn't gonna be fresh or good either so I walked. As I was leaving a gal/employee came out of the smoking patio but still didn't bother to even speak to me. I swear I'm not a food nazi but I worked in the industry for 15 years - this was garbage. I've been going to Torchy's since 2010 when I first discovered the food truck down on South First in Austin, so I'm probably biased. That said, their tacos still deliver even at locations like this one all the way up in Denver. I have been told many times to check out this place. I have been a few times now and have tried different things each time. They have a taco of the month that changes every month. It's always fun to see what the new taco is. Overall, the place is clean, the staff are very nice, and their new rewards system is great. I have gotten free chips, cheese, and tacos already from being a rewards member. The only complaint I have is that when you order food to go, the portions seem to be smaller than if you order in. I would highly recommend eating there if you can. They also serve breakfast too. Their breakfast burrito is so good that I would recommend it. My favorite thing on the menu is the crossroads with the bourbon bacon sweet sauce. It doesn't come with that sauce originally, so you have to ask for it. Also, don't forget to order their famous green chili cheese dip...it's addicting. I always order the half order, and it's plenty of cheese to share. Can't wait to go back soon and try the new taco of the month coming out. read more

Finally returned here to check it out again. The positive vibe was sort of there but not as it was before. Maybe the folks working that day have some COVID blues. The cashier was more matter-of-fact, will you just tell me what you want to order. There was a jovial guy there so it wasn't only the blues. The tacos just seemed okay. Amazing !! I work across at the hospital . I went for the 2nd time recently and even better . I tried the pork green chille tacos . No cheese cause I can't have dairy and still delicious!! Fast service even though I went at 12 . Food and service is fabulous. Tacos are stuffed with meat, no cutting corners for sure. I'll be back ! I walked over cause I'm within walking distance. This is how Migas are supposed to be! After living in Austin for a few years, I am a bit of a Migas snob, and these really hit the spot! They get the tortilla strips nice and crispy, which is what ties the entire taco together with a blend of creamy eggs, and crunchy tortilla strips. I get mine with no avocado due to an allergy, but they still live up to the tacos of my dreams from the Lone Star State! Overall service was great too, super safe for covid. I went in to order and they had me wait in my car, and brought my order out to my car about 15 minutes later, it was so easy! I asked for no jalapeño which is written on my receipt and they still put it on my taco. I got a bonus whole lime INSIDE my taco when I opened it up. I sat in the parking lot for 30 min waiting for my food to be delivered to my car. Additionally, I tried to call ahead of time because on Yelp I couldn't see the button for delivery but they said they offered it and I was on the phone for 10 min with no answer waiting to hear which delivery place you could use. During that 10 min I downloaded grub hub, and Uber eats... turns out it is actually door dash.... in case anyone wanted to know.... I am giving three stars because the manager called and refunded my order but he tried to say that the lime is supposed to be in the foil and sometimes gets into the taco... I had to unfold the taco to take the lime out... and he tried to say his tickets did not show no jalapeño but my ticket does so ‍ I am not sure about that.... read more

Staff is super friendly; we got recommendations from the cashier and the bartender and food runner were helpful and polite. The food is decent. My husband and I shared some chips and queso and each got a Baja Shrimp and Trailer Park taco, and he got an additional Crossroads. The tacos were A-okay; we actually really liked the Baja Shrimp but felt the others weren't as great. Queso and chips are good, but the queso definitely has a kick so keep that in mind if you don't like heat. I like the atmosphere here and would like to come back for a happy hour or to watch some football with tacos and margaritas. I did feel the price was high for what you get and wish they offered some specials on food. It was about $40 for two of us to eat with fountain drinks, no adult bevs. Still overall, good atmosphere, friendly staff, and decent tacos. read more

First off, this place has been on our list for a while after we found out that it had opened but we always wait for a while after opening day. We went to lunch to the burger place across the road and with the line we were in and all the people inside and out, we weren't going to find a place to sit so we went across the road to Torchy's, glad we did. As many have mentioned, there was one girl working one of the 3 cash registers, then the phone must have rang and then another girl took an order on the third register. But she stayed and started taking orders. We ordered a Chicken Fajita, Brushfire and Dirty Sanchez taco and the Green Chili Queso and chips. We skipped the open tables and decided to sit in the bar area looking outside. I must say, the place is pretty cool. They give you a table buzzer thing, but not to pick up your order, they bring it to you. So then I stepped up to the bar and got a draft. Shortly after we sat down out came the chips and queso, delicious! And as I hoped had a nice bite. We were snaking on the chips and a few minutes later, tacos. Making a quick selection this time I really enjoyed what I ordered. Of course I will be trying some different tacos next time. The key, next time. Yep, I'll be back. Finally made my way into Torchy's Tacos after my coworker told me they started in Austin. Don't ask why because I've never been there before, but I have a secret crush on Austin. SO, into Torchy's we went! I had no idea their taco menu was so fun and so creative. The Tailgater, for example, which was my fave for the night. I think this was the month's special, so I'm sorry for teasing you, but came with a healthy piece of panko fried chicken and bacon covered in green chile queso, diablo wing sauce, poblano ranch slaw, blue cheese crumbles, and a drizzle of honey. Oh HI gourmet, didn't know you'd be here today. Delicious with your choice of flour or corn tortilla (always choose corn). Do me a favor and take a peeksie at their menu online and see the many different tacos they offer. The Brushfire with Jamaican jerk chicken and mango, the Republican with an entire grilled jalapeno sausage, and the Democrat with barbacoa, avocado, cotija cheese, just to name a few, were all fire. Their chips and guac were no different. Really kinda impressed with my visit to Torchy's. That breakfast taco menu also looks very promising and so does the drink menu. If margs are your thing, this might be worth the visit just to try one of theirs. read more

So, I've been to couple of these in various states and, having just moved into town I wanted my family to give it a go. So, family night rolled around and off we went. The place has a cool vibe, booths, tables and a bar on one side. Lots of families coming in, with something for everyone. So my oldest got a pork burrito, which was a nice size and lots of meat. He loved it and couldn't get enough of their signature green salsa. My wife ordered a fried chicken taco called the 'Trailer Park'. Despite the name, it was a great taco, very unique and she enjoyed it. We picked up a kids chicken quesadilla for my youngest and his only complaint is that there was too much chicken!...which is not a negative for most of us. I decided to go with a chicken fajitas taco and a 'Crossroads'. Fajita taco was very average. Didn't taste like fajitas at all, but was good flavor and quantity. BUT the Crossroads taco...that was money! Brisket, jalapeños, different cheeses, grilled onions on a corn tortilla...it was excellent. So, when at Torchy's don't order anything that's taco 'traditional', but step out and indulge in their wonderful creations. Service was good with a young guy running everything and doing a great job. Oh, nearly forgot the queso! Order it!! Stir it up, get ready for a little heat and then fight everyone else for it. Update: Okay, okay...4 stars was the most I could do on my last visit because of the very average Chicken Fajita taco!...but, my son wanted to go back and grab some Queso and chips and we discovered the 'Secret Menu', which contains a few crazy concoctions. What we found and ordered and devoured was the 'Ace of Spades' and, Holy Taco man, it was amazing! Sausage (I know, a bit diff), smoked brisket, jalapeños, sour cream, cilantro, hot sauce and then, to go completely off the rails....a fried egg! It was outstanding. So, 5 stars it is!!! read more

So so so good!! Haven't had a thing here we don't LOVE! The cocktails are good the servers are always nice. They have drinks specials on Sundays. My kids love the Mr Orange, the shrimp tacos Rock and we'll, pretty much everything is delicious. Also, the airstream salad knocks it out of the park! We got it and shared it between myself, my kids and my dad. There's so much to it. Get a salad to split so you get your greens, and one taco and you're full. Except, you don't want to do that because really, you want to try more of the tacos!! read more

Where I live, Torchy's Tacos doesn't exist. It is a myth of hype and habanero told by Southland Storytellers. A place, the fuente, of fiery fusion tacos. Appetizers that speak to the soul as if they were spirit guides that journey you to an oasis of specialty sodas and queso quandaries. Like most myths though...they are exaggerations that must have expanded from ear to ear. When I finally stumbled across one in Colorado it was less of an 'experience' and more 'oh...this just a hipster taco chain'. Just like my craft soda after being the car for the trip home...this place fell flat. FOOD Truth time, Yelpers...I don't get the hype. The first thing that struck me was the price. The amount for one taco was over $5.00. I get these are 'hip' and 'fusion' and 'whatever other marketing word' but really? I got the one with blackened salmon. It wasn't bad, but the flavor/size didn't match the price tag. I will restate, it wasn't bad, but it's not something I'd start a cult following over. My daughter had the "kid's" beef tacos. She can scarf them down usually so she wanted three. (This + her drink made her 'kids' meal alone around $15+??) The end result? She ate 1/2 of one and thought they were gross. This is both a life lesson for me as a parent (ha), but also says a lot from her. She is a picky eater, I will admit that, but she also is a taco zealot! So...to not being able to finish even one full one says a lot. Additionally, their kid tacos are just normal sized tacos, but with less filling. You may as well just get a regular one. I saw some people post positive experiences with the Hillbilly Queso. Our chorizo tasted burnt or overcooked. It wasn't great. SERVICE Non-existent. End of story. SUMMARY I'm not going back; at least not to this location. Perhaps one in Texas or Arizona has a different overall taste/atmosphere, but this visit was more than underwhelming.
