I've never been a Mexican food person until I had dinner at Torero's. For me, it was somewhat a life changing event. You will find me at Torero's when I visit family in Seattle. The staff is always friendly. Food quality is consistent. They don't have problems filling the restaurant on weekends. Many Mexican families host celebratory events at Torero's which is is a testament of the quality of food. Food portions are adequate for the biggest eaters. I've never been able to finish an entree on my own. The nachos and tortilla are made fresh. They will keep the fresh nachos & salsa coming if you ask! We came here coming back from ikea and the service was the best we've had in YEARS. Jacinto was so generous, attentive, and the food came out quickly and was incredibly delicious. Also very good margaritas. Very good about social distancing and wearing masks. Will be coming back anytime we're in Renton. Yum yum yum! read more

It's exactly what you would expect. Watered down pseudo Mexican food with little flavor or imagination. First time I went to a Tereros was about 12 years ago and got food poisoning. Hadn't been since. Figured the brand new place would be safe. They placed all the white people in front of their huge picture window and we were stuck far away in the back, by the kitchen and the whole dining room had open seats. There was probably 10 tables filled in the restaurant. So needless to say, we received no service. Waitress took our order, never refilled my water and didn't bring the jalapeños that I requested and didn't come back until it was time to get money. read more

Love coming here. My wife and I have been going for several years, and the move to the Landing has proven a good one. It's closer for us and the only downside is not any parking directly near the place, but lets face it, after eating here we could probably stand to go for a walk and burn off some of the food. Our favorite dish is the pork carnitas, and they are delicious! We've tried a few of the other locations, but this one seems to be the best. That's why we keep coming back. The owner is frequently there to greet patrons and ask how things were and if you have a gripe or want to make a suggestion, he's willing to listen and at least for our part, we've seen changes as a result. Sometimes you can find coupons in Valpak, but even without, this is a great place for dinner. We'll defiately be back. read more

Almost 30 years ago I took my daughter to Torero's original restaurant in downtown Renton. She was about 4 years old and accidentally spilled her drink on the table. Within seconds two waiters had wiped up the spill with reassuring words to my daughter and gave her a fresh drink. They did not charge me for the extra drink. We have gone back many times over the years and the new place is a bit antiseptic but nice. The food was very good especially the fresh tortillas and the service was excellent. But after we left we were about two blocks from the restaurant when I heard someone yelling. Our waiter tracked us down as I had forgotten my credit card. Big smile although a bit winded from his run. Torero's made a customer for life back in 1985. They just reinforced it tonight. Hope they get the glitches worked out in the new space because they have always had an attitude of high quality in service and food. read more

We ate dinner here tonight and excellent service and food. Not only were we seated quickly, but our food cane out super fast. I love the beans that are served with the chips and salsa. The salsa is wonderful and full of chunks. I had a chicken. quesadilla and it was very full of flavor. My husband and father in law both had arroz con pollo which they have been getting for years. Very disappointing. I will think hard about ordering delivery from this restaurant again. I was seriously upset that our green salads arrived without the requested salad dressing. Then to top it off the rest of the food was cold on arrival. I know the food is not going to be piping hot as if served in the restaurant, but our order was not even warm. I will give 2 starts as they did have a nice spacios and clean environment. Despite the franchise tastes (non authentic), their waitress wasn't the best with detail. She billed me for wrong order, after I confronted they "modified" to correct but still didn't correct as I was charged for initial wrong (supposedly corrected transaction) and the new correct transaction. After this, I will most likely not visit again. The girl was sweet (veronica) and polite but def lacking attention to detail which isn't her strong suit. She should stay with hostess work and stay away from detail as smiling, greeting and seating is a better for role for her. I don't think it is fair for a customer to have to wait and sit through corrections of receipts/charges. the food is the same as any other americanized mexican eatery (beans, rice, and tortillas). This place was literally O.K. we went here for my cousin birthday she wanted a big family dinner! What I liked was that they were able to accommodate us (about 20 people) very well. We were there for a good 2 hours lol but the waiters were very patient and kind. My issue here is with the food and the drinks. They mixed up my drink because they forgot what I ordered which made me question what I ordered and ended up with the wrong drink. I ordered a cheese pizza for my son and nachos for me with no meat. I asked if they could add olives but they said they didn't have any olives (go figure). So I was expecting a cute pizza for my son and an okay nacho for myself. What I got was one of those little two dollar pizzas that have thick crust and go in the microwave and for my nachos I got chips, cheese, sour cream, and gauc. That's all. Just moved across the street and must say I was blown away. Once we walked inside I was surprised at how large and busy the place was. We were able to get seated rather fast and provided equally fast service. The waitress was nice and offered recommendations that we went with. The food was great and the plates were rather large, (so bring you appetite). First time I have eaten here and will be back. I do not give five stars the first time round but it was a get place and had awesome food! read more

Expressing burrito- chicken, no rice, cheese inside, no red sauce. How do you come from the kitchen all the way to my table with my burrito slaughtered in red sauce and "not realize"?!?!? They also change the price of drinks by the minute.... Somehow I had a happy hour drink at 627, but at 648 it not longer was at HH price!! It has taken up to 4 attempts to get my order right and never once have they gotten it correct the first time.... Lets start with the management, rude, I watched a manager pull away our beautiful waitress and get on her for another employees mistake, either he didn't like her, or me, but she was waiting on our table, and was told to leave us for another table? Then that was the driest, smallest carne asada I have ever had! Maybe you guys need more time to get everything back in order, but dang I really liked my carne asada from toreros! Pretty much run-of-the-mill Mexican fare with (somewhat) high prices. The servers are great, but it has to be one of the LOUDEST restaurants in Renton. If you don't care what your blind date is chatting about, bring them here. read more

So today I went to have lunch there since I had a discount card expiring today. I ate today in the bar which is probably the biggest mistake as always have had great service in the restaurant. Anyways I ordered a taco salad and 2 beers total when I was there. It took them forever to take my order while they talked to the guy at the bar as he is a regular making sure he had his margarita filled all the time. They spent all their time there and I had to flag them down to even get another beer. They took the longest time 20 minutes to run my bill with gift card I was given for there. One of the guys even came over since all the patrons but his friend at the bar were gone and said are you ready for your check? Wow; worst customer service I have probably had in a lot of years. I wanted to ask if Ted was there as the owner but they were doing whatever they wanted to do. I left my sunglasses there and would never go back and get them. Considering this is not authentic Mexican food nor prepared by chefs it's ridiculously overpriced. Early in the week the freezer trucks bring this food where it is later prepared so I assume the pricing is for overhead on the fancy new building? $9.75 for a margarita and $12.75 for a fresh one? and $22.50 for a fishbowl. This is not a steak house with chefs in it so appetizers that cost as much as meals at other Mexican restaurants is silly. Visiting from California this restaurant was recommended by hotel staff. Margaritas were good and strong. Tons of fruit flavors to choose from. Friends food was great. I had ordered pork carnitas but was nothing like I am used to in California. Homemade tortillas are made in restaurant and are amazing. Saved my dinner. Manager noticed I had not eaten my food and without me ever having to say anything or even complain she comped the meal. I feel that is amazing management. Upon walking in it smelled like it had potential, our complimentary chips 'n salsa heightened our excitement ... Our margaritas were they typical extremely high sugar drink with a kick of tequila... Then we got our food. OUT OF THE CAN AND/OR FREEZER, FLAVORLESS AMERI-MEXICAN. My chicken was extremely dry and there was zero effort in making my dish 'authentic.' Obviously this is a chain place, but we were not-so-pleasantly surprised at how short this place feel from edible Mexican food.
